  • As the types of actions and the magnitude of the required actions for environmental improvement get diversified, the necessity to develop effective messages is increasing. This research tries to develop proper messages with message characteristics of message framing and value orientation per different types of behaviors using a 2(message framing: gain/loss) × 2(value orientation: individual/social) × 2(magnitude of the requested behaviors: high/low). The results showed that framing and the magnitude of the requested behaviors had main effects on message attitudes and behavioral intentions. The gain framing showed more favorable effects than the loss framing, and the low magnitude of the requested behaviors showed better persuasive effects. According to the results of interaction effects, the gain framing showed higher behavioral intentions than the loss framing in the individual-oriented message, and there were no differences between the frames in the social-oriented message. When the magnitude of the requested behavior was high, the gain framing in the individual-oriented message was more favorable than the loss framing. On the other hand, when the magnitude of the requested behavior was low, the gain framing in the social-oriented message was more favorable. Although there were differences in the form of interactions by the magnitude of the requested behaviors, the individual-oriented gain framing message was found to be the most effective.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the cognitive demands level of the description about 'element', 'periodic table', and 'atom' on the 'science 2' textbooks by the 2007 revised curriculum. The three types of CAT (Curriculum Analysis Taxonomy) have been used to analyze the cognitive demands level of those contents on the 6 kinds of 'science 2' textbooks. The cognitive demands level about 'elements' on many textbooks is a late concrete operational stage, because the descriptions of 'element' are pure substances or no more split into anything simpler substances. That cognitive demands level about one textbook is a early formal operational stage, because the descriptions 'element' are a substance of one kind of atom. The cognitive demands level of 'periodic table' on many textbooks is a late concrete operational stage, because the descriptions about 'periodic table' are the hierarchical classification for the categorizing reality. And the cognitive demands level of 'periodic table' is a early formal operational stage, because the descriptions about 'periodic table' are a collection of 'families' or two-way gradation of elements. That cognitive demands level about one textbook is a late formal operational stage, because the descriptions of 'periodic table' are a complex classificatory structure linking atomic structure. The cognitive demands level about 'atom' is a early formal operational stage because of the descriptions as "atoms have structure, some atoms are the same, or others are different".

  • Autonomous profiling CTD floats are a useful tool for observing the oceans. We, however, cannot perform post-deployment calibration of the CTD's attached to the floats, and the assessment of the accuracy and stability of the profile data from the floats is one of the important issues in the delayed mode quality control of the profiles. Variations in salinity in the intermediate level of East Sea is comparable to the accuracy of salinity data required by the international Argo Program, which is 0.01. Therefore, we can assess the credibility of salinity data from the floats deployed in the East Sea using three independent methods while considering the East Sea as a salinity calibration bath. The methods utilized here are 1) comparison of high quality CTD data and float data obtained at similar locations at similar time, 2) comparison of float data obtained at similar locations at similar time, and 3) investigation of long term stability and accuracy of salinity data from parking depths. All three methods show that without any calibration, the salinity data satisfy the accuracy criterion by the Argo Program. While assuming that the intermediate level temperature in the East Sea is as homogeneous as the salinity, we have applied the three methods to temperature data. We found that the accuracy of temperature reading is 0.01$^{\circ}C$, which is about twice larger than the requirement by the Argo Program, 0.005$^{\circ}C$. This does not mean that the temperature readings are inaccurate, because the intermediate level temperature does vary spacially and temporally more than the accuracy interval required by the Argo Program. If we take into account the variation in the intermediate level temperature, the accuracy of temperature data from the floats is not significantly different from that proposed by the Argo Program. Therefore, one could use both temperature and salinity profiles from the floats assessed in this study without calibration.

  • In today's increasingly data-intensive academic environment, data is becoming the foundation of academic communication as a research outcome rather than a research by-product. However, there is a limit to guaranteeing actual data reuse only by expanding the data supply or securing accessibility. In order to overcome this, it is necessary to understand the data reuse behavior and data needs in-depth. Therefore, this study attempted to identify the major data reuse behavior and data needs among researchers. To this end, the authors of KCI papers among the data reuse documents of the Korea Social Science Data Archive (KOSSDA) for the past 3 years were targeted. An in-depth interview was conducted with 12 researchers who accepted the interview. As a result, factors considered when reusing data were personal, economic, technical, and social aspects, and it was found that the data itself was used or contextual information of the data was used depending on the purpose of data reuse. The path to acquiring data is a web-based source of information, and a path through informal communication can also be found. In terms of the data needs, it was found that they prefer English, the United States, and institutional producers. Also they have a clear preference for quantitative data from an interviewer-filled interpersonal interview survey method, rich metadata along with raw data, and data that contains identification information. However, due to the lack of confidence in the value, it is negative for the use of data with controlled access and use, and it is difficult to confirm a clear preference because there is no similar data available for selection in terms of size and freshness.

  • The advent of 5G mobile communications, which is expected in 2020, will provide many services such as Internet of Things (IoT) and vehicle-to-infra/vehicle/nomadic (V2X) communication. There are many requirements to realizing these services: reduced latency, high data rate and reliability, and real-time service. In particular, a high level of reliability and delay sensitivity with an increased data rate are very important for M2M, IoT, and Factory 4.0. Around the world, 5G standardization organizations have considered these services and grouped them to finally derive the technical requirements and service scenarios. The first scenario is broadcast services that use a high data rate for multiple cases of sporting events or emergencies. The second scenario is as support for e-Health, car reliability, etc.; the third scenario is related to VR games with delay sensitivity and real-time techniques. Recently, these groups have been forming agreements on the requirements for such scenarios and the target level. Various techniques are being studied to satisfy such requirements and are being discussed in the context of software-defined networking (SDN) as the next-generation network architecture. SDN is being used to standardize ONF and basically refers to a structure that separates signals for the control plane from the packets for the data plane. One of the best examples for low latency and high reliability is an intelligent traffic system (ITS) using V2X. Because a car passes a small cell of the 5G network very rapidly, the messages to be delivered in the event of an emergency have to be transported in a very short time. This is a typical example requiring high delay sensitivity. 5G has to support a high reliability and delay sensitivity requirements for V2X in the field of traffic control. For these reasons, V2X is a major application of critical delay. V2X (vehicle-to-infra/vehicle/nomadic) represents all types of communication methods applicable to road and vehicles. It refers to a connected or networked vehicle. V2X can be divided into three kinds of communications. First is the communication between a vehicle and infrastructure (vehicle-to-infrastructure; V2I). Second is the communication between a vehicle and another vehicle (vehicle-to-vehicle; V2V). Third is the communication between a vehicle and mobile equipment (vehicle-to-nomadic devices; V2N). This will be added in the future in various fields. Because the SDN structure is under consideration as the next-generation network architecture, the SDN architecture is significant. However, the centralized architecture of SDN can be considered as an unfavorable structure for delay-sensitive services because a centralized architecture is needed to communicate with many nodes and provide processing power. Therefore, in the case of emergency V2X communications, delay-related control functions require a tree supporting structure. For such a scenario, the architecture of the network processing the vehicle information is a major variable affecting delay. Because it is difficult to meet the desired level of delay sensitivity with a typical fully centralized SDN structure, research on the optimal size of an SDN for processing information is needed. This study examined the SDN architecture considering the V2X emergency delay requirements of a 5G network in the worst-case scenario and performed a system-level simulation on the speed of the car, radius, and cell tier to derive a range of cells for information transfer in SDN network. In the simulation, because 5G provides a sufficiently high data rate, the information for neighboring vehicle support to the car was assumed to be without errors. Furthermore, the 5G small cell was assumed to have a cell radius of 50-100 m, and the maximum speed of the vehicle was considered to be 30-200 km/h in order to examine the network architecture to minimize the delay.

  • Water is the most important resource for the potato cultivation, especially to get the maximum water use efficiency and yield of potato, Water has to be applied moderately based on the water requirement of the potato. Crop water requirement (WR) is a function of the Potential evapo-transpiration(PET) and Crop coefficient (Kc). PET can be estimated by the climate data measured at the weather station in the production region. Kc was measured by the NIAST (RDA) through Lysimeter experiments. In this study, the growth stage of potato was divided as four (G-1 : Apr. 1~Apr. 15, G-2 : Apr. 16~May. 10, G-3 : May. 11~May. 31, G4 : Jun. 1~Jun. 15). The average PET during potato growing season of the 45 areas was $2.95mm\;day^{-1}$. The most water requirement was the G-3 stage among the potato growth stage. The MWR (Mean water requirement) according to growth stage was 1.0~1.2 (average 1.1), 1.5~1.8 (average 1.6), 1.9~2.2 (average 2.0) and 1.7~2.1 (average 1.8) mm $day^{-1}$, in the G-1, G-2, G-3 and G-4 stage, respectively. The TWR (Total water requirement) according to growth stage was 18.0~22.1 (average 19.3), 50.6~66.6 (average 56.3), 63.5~88.2 (average 72.4) and 38.3~54.5 (average 44) mm, in the G-1, G-2, G-3 and G-4 stage, respectively.

  • Requirement traceability should be continuously maintained in software development and evolution. However, it is usually updated in practice in the quality assurance phase. The gap between "is" and "should" exists due to the fact that developers must invest considerable effort to update requirement traceability while being able to obtain only marginal benefit from the updated traceability. To close this gap, we propose a spreadsheet application that enables developers to flexibly change mappings in a requirement traceability matrix. In this way, developers can reduce their effort in updating the requirement traceability matrix, but still obtain the common form of a requirement traceability matrix on a spreadsheet. The proposed application maintains the mappings between two artifacts on each sheet so that, whenever an artifact item changes, developers can instantly insert the relevant mapping changes. Then, when developers desire the common form of a requirement traceability matrix, the proposed application calculates the mappings among several artifacts and creates the matrix. The application also checks traceability errors and calculates the metrics so that developers can understand the completeness of the matrix. To understand the applicability of the proposed approach, we conducted a case study, which shows that the proposed application can be applied to the real project and easily incorporate the mapping changes.

  • This paper dealt with electrical and optical requirements of naval vessel's LED luminaires. And the products have been tested to determine whether the products meet these requirements or not. This study analyzes the cost-effectiveness of the LED luminaires which have been implemented for the application to naval vessel since 2012. The LED requirements were proposed based on comparison among other standards/specifications such as Korean Industrial Standard(KS), Korean Defense Specification(KDS) and US Navy Military Specification(MIL). Application of the proposed requirements were then be verified by analyzing and testing the electrical and optical characteristics of both fluorescent Luminaires and LED luminaires, and the LED luminaires were installed to A1 naval vessels according to the proposed requirements. As results, approximately 40% of power consumption was saved by using LED luminaires compared to using fluorescent luminaires while luminous flux was increased by 10~15%. Moreover, using LED luminaires of the proposed requirements exhibited the effect of reducing approximately 4,900 fluorescent luminaires in 10 naval vessels in the time period between 2012 to 2015, which is equivalent to cost reduction of \0.56M approximately. Such cost reduction is further expected considering the LED luminaires will continue to be applied to naval vessels in the future.
