Crevice corrosion is localized form of corrosion usually associated with a stagnant solution on the micro-environmental level. Such stagnant micro environments tend to occur in crevices (shielded areas) such as those formed under gaskets washers insulation material. fastener heads. surface deposits. disbonded coatings. threads. lap joints and clamps. Crevice corrosion is initiated by changes in located electrochemical reaction within the crevice such as a) depletion of inhibitor in the crevice b) depletion of oxygen in the crevice c) a shift to acid conditions in the crevice and d) build-up of aggressive ion species (e.g chloride) in the crevice. In this study. the mechanism of crevice corrosion for Type 430 stainless steel is investigated undercondition that the size of specimen is $15{\times}20\{times}3mm$, in 1N $H_2SO_4$ + 0.05N NaCl solution. and the artificial crevice gap size of 3 x 0.2 x 15 mm. Crevice corrosion is measured under applied potential -300mV(SCE) to the external surface. The obtained result of this study showed that 1) the induced time for initiation of crevice is 750 seconds. 2) potential of the crevice was about from -320mV to -399mV. which is lower than that of external surface potential of -300mV It is considered that potential drop in the crevice is one of mechanisms for the crevice corrosion

This paper presents a lumped model to predict crosstalk characteristics of thermally driven inkjet print heads. Using the lumped R-C model, heating characteristics of the head are predicted to be in agreement with IR temperature measurements. The inter-channel crosstalk is simulated using the lumped R-L network. The values of viscous flow resistance, R and flow inertance, L of connecting channels are adjusted to accord with the 3-D numerical simulation results of three adjacent jets. The crosstalk behaviors of a back shooter head as well as a top shooter head have been investigated. Predictions of the proposed lumped model on the meniscus oscillations are consistent with numerical simulation results. Comparison of the lumped model with experimental results identifies that abnormal two-drop ejection phenomena are related to the increased meniscus oscillations because of the more severe crosstalk effects at higher printing speeds. The degree of crosstalk has been quantified using cross-correlations between neighboring channels and a critical channel dimension for acceptable crosstalk has been proposed and validated with the numerical simulations. Our model can be used as a design tool for a better design of thermal inkjet print heads to minimize crosstalk effects.

Tuning of electro-optical properties of nano-structured $SnO_2:Ga$ powders in a micro drop fluidized reactor (MDFR) was highly effective to enhance the activities of powders to be used as sensor materials. The tuning was conducted continuously in a facile one-step process during the formation of powders. The microscopic hydrodynamic forces affected the band gap structure and charge transfer of $SnO_2:Ga$ powders through the oxygen and interfacial tin vacancies by providing plausible pyro-hydraulic conditions, which resulted in the decrease in the electrical resistance of the materials. The analyses of room-temperature photoluminescence (PL) spectra and FT-IR exhibited that the tuning could improve the surface activities of $SnO_2:Ga$ powders by adjusting the excitation as well as separation of electrons and holes, thus maximizing the oxygen vacancies at the surface of the powders. The scheme of photocatalytic mechanism of $SnO_2:Ga$ powders was also discussed.
The slotted type of hollow copper cathode was constructed and tested for its geometric stability and usability for laser operation at 780nm. The peak output power of copper ion laser emission was measured for different operating conditions. The IR-laser power was dependent on the parameters of the geometry of the hollow cathodes, discharge current and gas fillings. The peak power decreased with increasing neon pressure over 60%. One reason for this decrease in output power may be conjectured as hier due to the decreasing population of the upper laser level. The copper ion laser transition at 780 nm populated at the 5p level. The hollow cathode copper ion laser is operated in He and Ne mixture by electric discharge excitation and could be operated for more than 100 hours with only a 35% drop in the output power(2.8mW cw for 9.6cm active length).
In this study, an amperometric non-enzymatic glucose sensor was developed on the surface of a glassy carbon electrode by simply drop-casting the synthesized homogeneous suspension of hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) nanosheets with a copper metal-organic framework (Cu-MOF) composite. Comprehensive analytical methods, including field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and amperometry, were used to investigate the surface and electrochemical characteristics of the h-BN-Cu-MOF composite. The FE-SEM, FT-IR, and XRD results showed that the h-BN-Cu-MOF composite was formed successfully and exhibited a good porous structure. The electrochemical results showed a sensor sensitivity of $18.1{\mu}A{\mu}M^{-1}cm^{-2}$ with a dynamic linearity range of $10-900{\mu}M$ glucose and a detection limit of $5.5{\mu}M$ glucose with a rapid turnaround time (less than 2 min). Additionally, the developed sensor exhibited satisfactory anti-interference ability against dopamine, ascorbic acid, uric acid, urea, and nitrate, and thus, can be applied to the design and development of non-enzymatic glucose sensors.

The researches about gaze detection have been much developed with many applications. Most previous researches only rely on image processing algorithm, so they take much processing time and have many constraints. In our work, we implement it with a computer vision system setting a IR-LED based single camera. To detect the gaze position, we locate facial features, which is effectively performed with IR-LED based camera and SVM(Support Vector Machine). When a user gazes at a position of monitor, we can compute the 3D positions of those features based on 3D rotation and translation estimation and affine transform. Finally, the gaze position by the facial movements is computed from the normal vector of the plane determined by those computed 3D positions of features. In addition, we use a trained neural network to detect the gaze position by eye's movement. As experimental results, we can obtain the facial and eye gaze position on a monitor and the gaze position accuracy between the computed positions and the real ones is about 4.2 cm of RMS error.
Variability in Young Stellar Objects (YSOs) can be caused by time-dependent accretion rates, geometric changes in the circumstellar disks, the stochastic hydromagnetic interactions between stellar surfaces and inner disk edges, reconnections within the stellar magnetosphere, and hot/cold spots on stellar surfaces. We uncover ~1400 variables from a sample of ~5300 YSOs in nearby low-mass star-forming regions using mid-IR light curves obtained from the 5.5-years NEOWISE All Sky Survey. The mid-IR variability traces a wide range of dynamical, physical, and geometrical phenomenon. We classify six types of YSO variability based on their light curves: secular variability (Linear, Curved, Periodic) and stochastic variability (Burst, Drop, Irregular). YSOs in earlier evolutionary stages have higher fractions of variables at all types and higher amplitudes for the variability. Along with brightness variability, we also find a diverse range of secular color variations, which can be attributed to a competitive interplay between the variable accretion luminosity of the central source and the variable extinction by material associated with the accretion process. We compare the variability of known FUors/EXors and VeLLOs/LLSs, which represent two extreme ends (burst versus quiescent) of the episodic accretion process; FUors/EXors have a higher fraction of variables (65%) than VeLLOs/LLSs (41%). Short-term (few day) and long-term (decades) variability, as well as possible AGB contamination in the YSO catalogues, are also discussed.molecules become more complex by surface chemistry induced directly by high energy photons or by the thermal energy diffused over heated grain surface. Therefore, the ice composition is an

Spectral emissivity depends on the surface conditions of the materials. The mechanisms that affect the spectral emissivity in anodic oxide films on aluminum were investigated. The aluminum specimens were anodized in a sulfuric acid solution and the thickness of the resulting oxide film formed changed with the anodizing time. FT-IR spectrum analysis identified the anodic oxide film as boehmite ($Al_2$$O_3$.$H_2$O). Both the infrared emisivity and reflectivity of the anodized aluminum were affected by the structure of the anodic oxide film because Al-OH and Al-O-Al have a pronounced absorption band in the infrared region of the spectrum. The presence of an anodic oxide film on aluminum caused a rapid drop in the infrared reflectivity. An aluminum surface in the clean state had an emissivity of approximately 0.2. However, the infrared emissivity rapidly increased to 0.91 as the thickness of the anodic oxide film increased.

Nuclear reactor pressure vessel should be safety even in the case that hypothetical defects with allowable size are in vessel. Therefore, the materials should have excellent fracture resistance characteristics. The purpose of this study is to analyze the results of preirradiation baseline test of nuclear pressure vessel for Yonggwang Unit 5/6. In experiments, drop weight tests and impact tests are carried out to obtain nil-ductility transition reference temperature, $RT_{NDT}$ and static and dynamic fracture toughness tests are performed to compare with $K_{IR}$ curve in accordance with ASME Sec.III. The test results show that the materials had sufficiently fracture resistance characteristics for 40 years of design life.

Many well-known pixel compensation circuits have been applied to control TFT $V_{th}$ variations on small size AMOLED panels. For large (>30-inch) AMOLEDs, luminance and color uniformity are affected by TFT variations, but also by ELVDD IR drop and cavity non-uniformity which are not easily compensated by in-pixel circuits. AMOLED panels may also suffer from manufacturing-induced mura. An external compensation method based on optical measurements is proposed and applied to large AMOLED panels. It improves luminance uniformity by up to 95% at 200nits and color uniformity by up to 99% (${\Delta}$u'v' <0.004) on large AMOLED panels, and provides-increased margin against processinduced mura.
