The aim of this study is to present the handover procedures and the performance comparisons of layered mobility management schemes for wireless mobile Internet. To investigate efficient mobility management schemes providing seamless information services in a mobile environment, this paper provided the detailed discussions of existing network layered mobility management scheme, including Mobile IPv4, Mobile IPv6, and new transport layer mobility management scheme, stream control transmission protocol (SCTP) based mobility architecture (SMA). Network simulator-2 (ns-2) was used to compare the performance between Mobile IPv6 and SMA in the wireless mobile Internet environment. Simulation results show that for typical network configuration and parameters, SMA has a lower handover latency, lower packet loss rate, and higher throughput than Mobile IPv6.

As a promising technology that enables ubiquitous computing and leads IT(information Technology) industries of next generation, the exciting new field of sensor networks is attracting so much attention and considered to be the one of the hottest research topics these days. From now on, all the each node, forming a network, and even the sensor network itself will interact with the generic network and evolve dynamically according to the change of environment with the perpetual creation and extinction. In this paper, we purpose the dynamic address interworking scheme for interactive networking between sensor network and Internet(IPv6). Proposed scheme is enable to interworking dynamically between sensor network address scheme based on Zigbee and Internet address scheme based on IP. Additionally, we implement the proposed address interworking scheme using Berkeley TinyOS, mica motes, and IP protocol. And, we verify the proposed scheme by the interconnection experimental between wireless sensor networks and Internet based on IPv4/IPv6.
The Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 (HMIPv6) has been proposed to accommodate frequent mobility of the Mobile Node and to reduce the signaling load. A Mobility Anchor Point is a router located in a network visited by the Mobile Node. The Mobile Node uses the Mobile Anchor Point as a local Home Agent. The absence of any protections between Mobile Node and Mobile Anchor Point may lead to malicious Mobile Nodes impersonating other legitimate ones or impersonating a Mobile Anchor Point. In this paper, we propose a mechanism of the secure Mobile Anther Point discovery in HMIPv6. The performance analysis and the numerical results presented in this paper show that our proposal has superior performance to other methods.
The growing need for the mobility supportable networks induces the IP-based mobility management protocols. Though HMIPv6 which manages the micro-mobility of mobile nodes using MAPs suggests an effective method for mobility-support for mobile nodes within the domain that is managed by MAP. There is a problem that traffic may be concentrated on MAPs. In this paper, therefore, we proposed a method that can effectively distribute the traffic which is concentrated on a MAP under phased Mobile IPv6. In our proposed method, two or more MAPs are required and classified as an 'Active MAP' or a 'Passive MAP'. In addition, we defined the state of transition events between Active MAP and Passive MAP and the operations among MAPs for load distribution when an overload condition is occurred at some MAPs by traffic congestion. We compared the performance of our proposed method with its phased Mobile IPv6 to prove the propriety of our proposed method. As a result, we showed that our proposed method can provide an enhanced performance by about 12 percentages in view of packet throughput at the node.
The Mobile IPv6 provides the enhanced internet services to user by supporting a node's mobility. In Mobile IPv6(MIPv6), the mobile node sends the binding message which binds home address(HoA) with care-of address(CoA) to the home agent whenever it changes its point of attachment to the internet. To reduce the mobility management signal message the Paging Hierarchical Mobile IPv6(PHMIPv6) is proposed. The mobile node does not send the binding message within the domain if the mobile node's state is idle. Therefore the mobility signal message cost can be reduced. However, when the mobile node's session arrival rate is high the many mobility management signal cost are needed because the paging cost is very high. In this paper, we analysis the drawback of PHMIPv6 and propose the scheme which can reduce the mobility management signal cost. The proposed scheme works independent of the number of subnet in the domain. Therefore the proposed scheme can improve the mobile node's mobility management scheme.

Collecting and managing the sensor information through the Internet is critical to effectively manage and utilize the sensor information. The interworking technique of the sensor network and internet is required to realize the desirable condition for managing and utilizing the sensor information. Among many interworking techniques, the translation technique using the gateway had been widely studied. However, the technique which mounts IP-based Internet protocols directly on the sensor node is getting more attention recently. Particularly, IPv6 is suitable for the communication protocol for the sensor network, because its features, such as abundant address space or address auto-configuration, are well matched with the sensor network. In this paper, we design the tiny UDP/IPv6 protocol functions which are suitable for the sensor network environment, and we implemented the functions with TinyOS based nesC. After we examined the simulation results of by using TOSSIM and TinyViz, we carried out the experimental performance evaluation for the program by mounting the tiny UDP/IPv6 on the sensor node (Mote).
Korean military is propelling the M&S on new warfare concept, such as NCW(Network Centric Warfare) which is the aspect of future war. IPv6 is the essential element of next generation defense network which is supporting the future battlefield. There have been many studies on allocating the IPv6 address for next generation defense network. However, they assigned the address by level on the basis of the military organization or assigned it from the service network, so it had the defect, the big size routing table. This study reviews the topology of next generation defense network and adjusts the position of service network ID on the basis of the network topology. Finally, it improved the efficiency of route aggregation and minimized the routing table size in comparison with the previous studies and it was proved by OPNET simulator.

Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 improves performance of Mobile IPv6 by managing Binding Update in terms of location, With improved handover delay, realization of delay-sensitive services (e,g, VoIP or video streaming) has become more persuadable, Comparing with Mobile IPv6, however, Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 brings security threats related to Local Binding Update to mobile network, In the RFC 4140, specific methods to authenticate Local Binding Update message are not explicitly presented. It is essential that design secure architecture to address problems related to authenticating Local Binding Update, Many secure suggestions for Local Binding Update, however, concentrate on infrastructure-based solutions such as AAA PKI. These approaches may cause scalability problem when the suggested solutions are applied to real network. Therefore we suggest authentication method that doesn't require infrastructure, In addition to authentication of Local Binding Update, our method also provides mobile node with power saving ability.

For recent years, the environment of use on internet has been changed from the wired internet access to the wireless internet access increasingly, and the use of real time application data has been increased. Therefore the research and evolution of wireless network for providing of user's mobility and QoS at the same time must be essential. IETF already proposed Mobile IPv6 for providing mobility and RSVP for QoS through resource reservation. These future are expected to be used not only wired network but also wireless network. But there are not yet proposed the integration and efficient interworking of two mechanism. For the solution of problem on efficient interworking issue, for instance signaling overhead and reservation delay increasing due to often handoff, this paper first proposed to use of IETF Cellular IP based on Mobile IPv6 for wireless network model with fast mobility and a improved RSVP mechanism using the flow label field in IPv6 header.
A node of mobile IPv6 moving foreign networks needs authentication process to support right services against from security threat. AAA is a trust infrastructure that authenticates, authorizes, and accounts nodes receiving a network service. And Mobile IPv6 Working Group recommends use of AAA infrastructure to authenticate mobile nodes. Event though AAA infrastructure provides strong authentication functions, it should exchange a lot of messages to authenticate mobile nodes every movement. The exchange of lots of messages causes latency and it is interfered with realization of real-time communication. This paper proposes an authentication method of improved speed using hash value of mobile node to reduce authentication latency. Directly after movement, a mobile node applying a Proposed method uses extended existing security authentication for a while and deletes the establishment latency of new security authentication. Performance evaluation of a proposed method verifies the efficiency through the analysis of cost comparison with other methods. The conclusion of performance evaluation is that the proposed method gets more 25% performance improvement than a general method when a mobile node moves another subnet.
