As the Korean Ministry for Health and Welfare announced the likelihood to revise the legislative limit for healthcare telemedicine, u-Healthcare service through IPTV emerged among these business models. However, in spite of many advantages such as treatment improvement, service quality enhancement, and treatment usefulness, most medical trials grafted with IT have not accepted yet. This points out not only that law and institutional environment has not prepared, but also that policy maker neglect the preparation of the strategies through the study on user acceptance. The purpose of this study is to verify the relationship for IPTV quality based Healthcare on satisfaction and intention to use. The results identify that IPTV technology quality for its convenience, contents quality for its completeness, and the quality for healthcare services give significant effect to satisfaction. In addition the study indicates that overall qualities of IPTV technology, contents, and healthcare service, significantly impact on satisfaction respectively and that the satisfaction may lead to the intention to use of this service.

In this paper, researching for the video quality estimation of IPTV in the situation that increase the broadcasting network traffic on the IPTV multicasting service using the ETSI TR 101 290 that is the European digital video quality standard estimating method and present the experiment result. Proving that the intimate relation is between IPTV video quality and ETSI TR 101 290 estimation, also ETSI TR 101 290 can detect the video quality factors which can't be detected by the exist video estimation methods.

This study analysed the complicated introduction process of IPTV in Korea, based on the rent seeking theory which is one of an useful economic theory for explaining the dynamic interaction between government and entrepreneurs. Rent seeking theory describes the possibility of lobbying for economic regulations or regulatory capture which refers to collusion between firms and the government agencies assigned to regulate them. The introduction of IPTV(Internet Protocol TV) in Korea was the most controversial policy issue since the beginning of new media business of cable TV in 1995. In addition to the ordinary conflict between the old and new entrepreneurs, IPTV caused the bureaucratic conflicts between the Ministry of Information and Communication and the Korean Broadcasting Commission (Two regulation agencies were merged into KCC(Korean Communications Commission) in 2008). Through the process all related policy players, including the government, pursued their own rent, and it caused vicious circle of continuous rent seeking and mutual distrust among players. Finally, all-directional lobby of pre-IPTV companies brought about the successful entrance to IPTV market and the enactment of IPTV special law which includes deregulation compared to the existing Broadcast Act. Considering the convergence trend of media related laws it means going against the times. Until now, the conflict phenomena occurring in broadcast industry were mostly explained based on the sociological conflict theory. However, the result of this study shows the usefulness and necessity of rent seeking theory because it gives an economic explanation of conflict behavior.

Recently internet protocol television (IPTV) service is becoming a typical emerging service enabled on broadband networks. Through the Internet which cannot support quality of service (QoS) beyond best-effort (BE) policy, how to manage and maintain its service quality is an important and essential issue for successful deployment and settlement of IPTV service. In particular, the current measurement scheme that mostly depends on specific equipments should be replaced with one that supports realtime and constant measurement achieved on a user's own will. Therefore, this paper proposes a scheme so-called 'user centric realtime measurement' of IPTV service. The developed software, which is installed in a set-top box (STB) at a user's premise, measures and reports the quality of IPTV service in realtime. In order to verify the performance and accuracy of the developed software, a number of tests are performed comparing to the measurement values from two major measurement equipments. The result of the tests shows that the measurement by the implemented software is significantly reliable.

The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of the interactive message expression and consumer characteristic insert IPTV advertising. The results of this study were follow: Firstly, Attention and attitude of interactive message advertising appeared than general TV advertising so that it was high. Second, In case of interactive message advertising, It appeared efficiently than the advertising without the advertisement detail information which is putting the good detail information. Third, In interactive message expression of IPTV advertising, Floating expression strategy appeared efficiently most. Lastly, Adoption of consumer characteristic was revealed that we had an influence on the knowledge level and the information search intention about IPTV. We present theoretical basis which to present interactive message to IPTV supplier is efficient, and the plan which floating expression can make the click intention of the advertising.

This letter proposes a weighted scheduling mechanism for Internet protocol television (IPTV) to improve the loss performance of multicast transmission over an Ethernet passive optical network (EPON). We propose a new weight policy from the number of multicast receivers to proportionally allocate the downstream bandwidth of IPTV traffic. The proposed mechanism is used in an optical line terminal to decrease lost packets of favorite IPTV services because the lost multicast packets are proportional to the number of receivers. The total proportion of lost multicast packets is reduced by up to 73% in an EPON.

IPTV(Internet Protocol Television)는 차별화된 초고속 광대역 네트워크를 기반으로 기존 TV의 단점을 보완하여 차세대 DTV 시장을 주도할 것으로 예상된다. IPTV의 저장용량이 증가하는 추세에 따라 SSD(Solid State Disk)가 NAND 플래시 메모리를 대체 할 것으로 예상된다. 본 논문에서는 IPTV의 저장장치인 SSD의 수명을 증가시키고 플래시메모리의 특성인 마모도 제한을 고려하지 않은 지움 정책(Garbage-Collection)을 사용하는 YAFFS(Yet Another Flash FileSystem)의 문제점을 해결하기 위해 블록을 내용기반 리스트로 관리하고 블록스왑을 사용하는 내용기반 지움 정책을 제안한다. 기존 파일시스템 보다 수명을 향상 시키는 내용기반 파일시스템을 설계 및 구현하여 성능을 분석하였다.

Due to rapid convergence trends in the digital pay TV market, differentiation among the competing medias decreases and substitutability is increasing. The current study aims to explain the effect of service substitutability among competing media on the size of domestic digital pay TV subscribers. For the analysis, the Lotka-Volterra model, an ecological competitive diffusion model, was used to obtain the basic model for a simulation study. A simulation was performed by adjusting independent variables of substitutability to estimate the size of subscriber for particular media. The relationship between the digital cable TV and the IPTV is identified as a predator-prey relationship and the digital cable TV is found to be superior to the IPTV. The simulation results showed that the increase of convergence and substitutability result in the decrease of the entire media market. Especially, the IPTV is estimated to face the greatest loss in this context.

The purpose of this study is to identify the influecing factors on the user's satisfaction and continued usage intention in IPTV services. For this purpose, a research model and hypotheses are developed based on the relevant literature reviews. Data have been collected from 310 users who have used IPTV and the research hypotheses were tested by covariance structural model analysis. The results of this empirical study are summarized as follows. First, perceived enjoyment was confirmed to have a positive effect on user's satisfaction and continued usage intention, however, we found no evidence of a statistically significant relationship between perceived enjoyment and perceived usefulness. Second, perceived ease of use was found to positve influence perceived usefulness, however, we found no evidence of a statistically significant influece on user's satisfaction. Third, confirmation was found to positively influence satisfaction and continued usage intention. Fourth, perceived usefulness had a positive influence on continued usage intention, and both perceived usefulness and satisfaction had a positive influence on continued usage intention. Based on these findings, we suggested the implications and further research directions.

디지털기술의 발전과 전송망의 광대역화에 따라 기존에 통신과 방송으로 각각 분리되었던 콘텐츠, 네트워크, 단말기 및 서비스의 경계가 허물어지는 융합화현상이 가속화되고 있다. 특히 방송분야와 통신분야의 경계가 모호해지며 통신과 방송 네트워크 및 서비스시장 간 융합현상이 나타나는 방송과 통신의 융합화, 즉 IPTV(Internet Protocol Television) 서비스는 대표적인 융합화의 큰 흐름을 보여주는 현상이다. 하지만, 지난 수년간 법적 제도적 장치를 마련하는 각 부처 및 산업내의 이해관계가 상충되면서 이러한 사회변화에 능동적으로 대처하지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 또한, 관련법 제정과 사업자 선정 이후에도 방송통신융합 산업이 활성화가 되기까지 많은 난관에 직면하고 있다. 이러한 맥락에서 본 논문에서는 방송통신융합(IPTV) 산업의 활성화를 위한 탐색적 연구를 통해 모색과 대안을 제시하고자 한다.
