  • The purpose of this dissertation is to compare bound andtioxidant, MHPPD with the ordinary one, IPPD, when high polymers are used like NR and SBR. The effect of rubber bound antioxidant and ordinary antioxidant on the Mooney scorch time has been studied by means of the Mooney viscometer. The ageing properties of vulcanizates containing rubber-bound antioxidant and ordinary antioxidant have been studied in terms of hardness, tensile strength and elongation. The results of the Mooney scorch time and ageing properties are as follows: When MHPPD was mixed with NR or SBR compounds, the Mooney scorch time was faster than the IPPD compounds. Also the ageing properties of the vulcanizates containing MHPPD were much superior to the IPPD compounds. Furthermore, the vulcanizates comporised of MHPPD have taken andvantage of and resistance in the ozone test.

  • The purpose of this study is to get comparative results on the combined antioxidant systems comprised of MHPPD with IPPD, MHPPD with PBN and MHIPPD with MB when they are individually added to NR and SBR compound. Vulcanization characterstics and physical properties of the combined antioxidants have been studied by means of the Mooney viscometer, the Monsanto disc rheometer and so on. According to the test results, MHPPD with IPPD system has shown faster cure rate, better optimum cure time and shorter scorch time than other systems. The vulcanizate comprised of the MHPPD with IPPD antioxidant system has taken advantage of heat resistance, fluid resistance and antiozone resistance.

  • Migration properties of antidegradants to the surface in NR vulcanizates containing carbon black of 30, 50, and 70 phr were studied using the migration-generating equipment with a vacuum technique. The migration was carried out at 60, 80, and 100 ℃ for 20 h. BHT, IPPD, HPPD, and wax were used as migrants. IPPD migrates faster than the other migrants. Amounts of BHT, IPPD, and HPPD that migrated at 60 and 80 ℃ decrease as the content of carbon black in the vulcanizate increases. Migrations of antidegradants in the NR vulcanizate containing carbon black of 50 phr are faster than those containing carbon black of 30 and 70 phr at 100 ℃. Although n-C23H48 is heavier than HPPD, it migrates faster than HPPD and even faster than BHT at 100 ℃. Influencing factors of carbon black on the migrations are its porous structure and polar functional groups on the surface.

  • Waxes compounded into rubber migrate to the surface and form a protection film on the rubber surface. In general, antiozonants were used with wax to protect ozonation of rubber. Influence of wax barrier formed on the surface of a rubber vulcanizate on migration of antiozonants was studied using natural rubber (NR) vulcanizates containing various type waxes. IPPD (N-isopropyl-N'-phenyl-p-phenylenediamine), HPPD (N-l,3-dimethylbutyl-N'-phenyl-p-phenylenediamine), SBPPD (N,N'-di(sec-butyl)-p-phenylenediamine), and DMPPD (N,N'-di(1,4-dimethylpentyl)-p-phenylenediamine) were employed as antiozonants. Migration experiments were performed at constant temperatures of 60 and $80^{\circ}C$ for 10, 20, 30 days using a convection oven. The migration rates of the antiozonants in the vulcanizate without wax are faster than those in the vulcanizates containing waxes. The antiozonants migrate slower in the vulcanizate containing wax with a high molecular weight distribution than in the vulcanizate with a low one. The migration rates of DMPPD and SBPPD are faster than those of HPPD and IPPD.

  • This research analyzes the design work and construction work, which might be arising out of or during the procurement process of naval ships of the Korean Navy. This research also suggests the applicable information methodology driven out by utilizing PLM/POM tool, which could be one of practical solutions to the problems arising from the outcome of this analysis. As to the procedure and methodology of information technology of design and construction work of the ship, IPPD was adopted. Before its actual application, main contents of the IPPD were introduced in this research. And it's real application and subsequent concrete surroundings of IPDE were defined. In addition, addition, several detailed and necessary works to be fulfilled were defined, mainly focused on the application of IPDD for the design and construction stages of the ships suitable for the Korean Navy, And also, this analysis defines the main functions to be secured by adopting the PLM/POM tool and obtained the relevant functions partially herewith.

  • This paper presents the Improved Pre-prepared Power Demand (IPPD) table and Muller's method as a means of solving the Profit Based Unit Commitment (PBUC) problem. In a deregulated environment, generation companies (GENCOs) schedule their generators to maximize profits rather than to satisfy power demand. The PBUC problem is solved by the proposed approach in two stages. Initially, information concerning committed units is obtained by the IPPD table and then the subprob-lem of Economic Dispatch (ED) is solved using Muller's method. The proposed approach has been tested on a power system with 3 and 10 generating units. Simulation results of the proposed approach have been compared with existing methods and also with traditional unit commitment. It is observed from the simulation results that the proposed algorithm provides maximum profit with less computational time compared to existing methods.
