정부의 IT839 추진전략의 핵심 축을 담당하고 있는 BcN 계획은 곧 시범사업을 거쳐 본격적인 상용서비스가 시작될 시기에 이르고 있다. 한편 BcN의 구현을 위한 표준 기술의 하나로서 ITU(국제전기통신연합)에서는 SG13과 FG NGN에서 차세대통신망(NGN)에 대한 표준화를 추진하고 있는데, Release 기반의 방향을 설정하고 있다. 최초의 결과물로 기대되는 Release 1 단계에서는 IMS 기반의 표준화를 완성할 것으로 합의한 바, IMS 기술 및 표준화 현황을 살펴봄으로써 현 시점에서 취해야 할 추진전략의 고려사항으로 그 역할과 기대를 조명해 보고자 한다. 본 고에서는 먼저 3GPP에서 진행해온 IMS 표준화 현황에 대한 일반적인 개요를 목표 서비스와 더불어 간략히 설명하고, 관련 기능들과 서로간의 인터페이스를 살펴보고자 한다. 또한 이를 바탕으로 현재 FG NGN과 SG13에서 진행중인 ITU-T의 NGN 표준화와의 관계 및 영향을 검토한다.

최근 디지털 정보통신 기술의 발전으로 네트워크 기술 및 성능의 적용 범위가 모든 분야로 확대됨에 따라 모든 정보단말, 가전기기, 사물 등이 하나의 네트워크로 연결되는 차세대 통신환경으로 진화되고 있다. 이러한 차세대 통신 환경에서의 핵심기술인 IMS 네트워크 환경하에서 네트워크의 이동이나 디바이스가 변동하더라도 끊김 없는(seamless) 서비스의 제공을 위해서는 서비스 Enabler를 통한 통합 서비스 인프라의 발전이 요구된다. 이 논문은 Enabler와 IMS(IP Multimedia Subsystem)를 통한 통합 서비스 제공환경에서 사용자의 네트워크 환경의 변화나 디바이스의 변화에도 끊김 없는 서비스를 제공하기 위한 세션제어기법과 그 구조를 제안한다.

Recently, according to increasing the network traffic in the IMS, the role of Network Management System (NMS) is very important because of limited network resource. NMS can perform two kinds of routing ways with the capability of static or dynamic routing. The way of A dynamic routing is more efficient than static routing one because it can make the flow of traffic changeful among nodes in the IMS. Therefore, in this paper, we suggest a management function of NMS, using a dynamic routing algorithm for managing the CSCFs in the IMS. And then we analyze the algorithm by measuring the performance of PoC, one of the prominent application services to be deployed in the IMS.

QOOK 인터넷전화는 BcN(Broadband Convergence Network) IMS(IP Multimedia Subsystem)기반으로 음성/영상 전화를 제공한다. 본 논문에서 소개하는 QOOK 부가서비스인 한글로서비스는 인터넷 전화기를 이용하여 착신자 전화번호를 눌러 발,착신자간에 통화가 이루어지는 것이 아니라 전화번호를 모르더라도 한글이름을 입력하여 발,착신자간에 통화가 이루어지는 서비스이다. 본 논문은 일반 전화번호기반의 통화서비스에서 진화되어 전화번호가 아닌 한글이름을 이용하여 발신, 착신을 위한 BcN_소프트스위치, 응용서버 등에서 입력된 이름을 처리하는 기능을 소개한다.

The need of multimedia based application service is increasing as the number of smart mobile devices such as smart phone, tablet PC, and netbook is increasing rapidly and the development of application service like IPTV. There are various proposed policies to control the limited network resources. The IMS is used to control wired and wireless aggregation network to support multimedia services that are suitable to the user's need and the policy based models using the PDF of the IMS have emerged. In this paper, we propose the QoS adaption model using various protocols with the PDF of the IMS and the user scenario.

In this paper, we propose the converged profile and authentication scheme for supporting converged media services of broadcasting & communications convergence in fixed mobile convergence networks. The proposed scheme supports the management of access, service, mobility and IPTV profiles on subscriber and a function of open API(Application Program Interface) for providing the subscriber profile for the third party service provider with the PUSH/PULL method. The open API is based on a web service and a REST(Representational State Transfer) and provides various services for the third party service provider with ease. In addition, the proposed scheme supports a function of SSO(Single Sign-on). After user succeeded in establishing an access connection, user can sustain the same authentication state with this function although connected access network is changed or IMS(IP Multimedia Subsystem) service network is attached. We evaluate and analyze the performance of the proposed scheme through the implementation of CUPS(Converged User Profile Server) system test-bed.

Mobile phone users have been using the SMS to send and receive text messages between them. Recently, GSMA(GSM Association) proposed the next generation instant messaging service, RCS-e(Rich Communication Service-enhanced). This was unavoidable because new OTT(Over The Top) services have emerged that threat the SMS after smart phones became popular. However, the RCS-e has limitations that it cannot inter-operate with the SMS which is still widely used. This paper propose a software framework that inter-work SMS with RCS-e. Call flows for canceling wireless contracts and sending SMS messages to RCS-e users were defined. Also, methods for protocol conversion were defined to inter-work two services. The performance evaluation showed that the proposed framework does not increase loads on IMS(IP Multimedia Subsystem) infrastructure.

Recently, the research relative to NGN(Next Generation Network) is progressing in 3GPP(The 3rd Generation Partnership Progect), IETF(Internet Engineering Task Force), and so on. Although user needs frequently mobility which is various service pattern, In accordance with the development of these various applications, IMS(IP Multimedia Subsystem) and hierarchical networks ie, Femtocell/WiBro/3G etc is constructed for more user demands which provide service in anytime, anywhere. It is necessary to optimum network selection criterion which consider to wireless signal quality add to user service profile and service network traffic balance. NGN also needs a method to perform heterogeneous handover and to constraint Ping-pong phenomenon when using existing terminal-based handover decision. This paper proposes scheme for network selection and heterogeneous handover procedure in hierarchical wireless multi-access network based on SIP-MIH(Session Initiation Protocol-Media Independent Handover) with IMS by using user service profile that the considerations are dealing with not only selection and registration of various access network but also easy of developing the terminal.

최근 통신업계에서 앞으로 가장 주목받을 만한 기술로 BcN(Broadcast Convergence Network)기반 IMS(IP Multimedia Subsystem)를 꼽고 있다. 통신업계는 지금까지 빠른 기술성장과 함께 많은 이익을 창출하였다. 그러나 현재 통신사의 가입자의 수는 물론 ARPU(Average Revenue Per User)역시 정체기를 맞고 있다. 때문에 통신업계들은 BcN환경 기반 IMS구조로 사용자의 요구에 맞도록 차별화된 서비스를 제공함으로써 이익을 창출하고 앞으로도 지속 가능한 성장을 하기 위해 이에 대한 연구를 활발히 하고 있다. 하지만 현재 IMS의 구조로는 사용자들에게 차별화된 서비스를 제공하는데 어려움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 사용자들에게 차별화된 서비스를 제공하기 위해 BcN 환경에서 통합 서비스를 제공 하기 위한 전체 Enabler구조와 Enabler에서 상황에 따른 데이터처리 기법에 대해서 제시하고자 한다.

These days rapid improvement in Mobile phones and their multimedia limits made them powerful enough to manage complicated tasks. Image processing related support for mobile devices is extremely comprehensive in wireless telemedicine. A basic challenge is how to get best quality of image with the limited screen size and resources of mobile phones. This paper deals with image processing features (capturing rendering and zooming in and out) of Mobile Media API and Advanced Multimedia Supplements (MMAPI and AMS) developed for Mobile Java Platform and customized algorithm is designed to keep all image task cost efficient by using minimum device resources and memory. This scenario is driven by the need for evaluation of a distant patient that cannot be moved to the expert.
