Appliction of MAMAC technology for supporting TCP/IP in MOST network (MOST Network에서 TCP/IP 지원을 위한 MAMAC 기술 적용 방안)

  • 국내에서 차량용 멀티미디어 네트워크인 MOST에서 내부 네트워킹에 관한 사례는 있으나 MOST 네트워크에서 TCP/IP 지원을 위한 MAMAC 프로토콜에 관한 사례는 알려져 있지 않다. MAMAC 프로토콜은 MOST 네트워크와 Ethernet과의 패킷전송을 위한 효율적 프로토콜로 MOST협회에서 표준화를 하였고 현재 MOST MAMAC Specification 1.1까지 진행되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 MOST 네트워크와 Ethernet간의 데이터 전송을 위한 MAMAC 프로토콜을 분석하며 TCP/IP를 지원하는 MOST 장비 개발 시 MAMAC 프로토콜기술 적용 방안을 제시하였다.

  • Proxy Mobile IP in IETF is a network-based mobility management scheme to solve the problem of host-based mobility management scheme, Mobile IP. PMIP shows the better performance in the aspect of mobility, but PMIP, as a legacy of Mobile IP based on "best effort service", lacks of consideration of QoS. In this thesis, a novel mobility support scheme is proposed for mobility and QoS support based on PMIP in MPLS networks.

FDANT-PCSV: Fast Detection of Abnormal Network Traffic Using Parallel Coordinates and Sankey Visualization (FDANT-PCSV: Parallel Coordinates 및 Sankey 시각화를 이용한 신속한 이상 트래픽 탐지)

  • As a company's network structure is getting bigger and the number of security system is increasing, it is not easy to quickly detect abnormal traffic from huge amounts of security system events. In this paper, We propose traffic visualization analysis system(FDANT-PCSV) that can detect and analyze security events of information security systems such as firewalls in real time. FDANT-PCSV consists of Parallel Coordinates visualization using five factors(source IP, destination IP, destination port, packet length, processing status) and Sankey visualization using four factors(source IP, destination IP, number of events, data size) among security events. In addition, the use of big data-based SIEM enables real-time detection of network attacks and network failure traffic from the internet and intranet. FDANT-PCSV enables cyber security officers and network administrators to quickly and easily detect network abnormal traffic and respond quickly to network threats.

  • Network attack analysis and visualization methods using network traffic session data detect network anomalies by visualizing the sender's and receiver's IP addresses and the relationship between them. The traffic flow is a critical feature in detecting anomalies, but simply visualizing the source and destination IP addresses symmetrically from up-down or left-right would become a problematic factor for the analysis. Also, there is a risk of losing timely security situation when designing a visualization interface without considering the temporal characteristics of time-series traffic sessions. In this paper, we propose a visualization interface and analysis method that visualizes time-series traffic data by using the radial axis, divide IP addresses into network and host portions which then projects on the cylindrical coordinate system that could effectively monitor network attacks. The proposed method has the advantage of intuitively recognizing network attacks and identifying attack activity over time.

  • The 4th generation mobile communication system, LTE, does not support an additional core network to provide voice service, and it is merged into a packet network based on all IP. Although Voice service over LTE can be supported by VoIP, it will be provided by the existing 3G networks because of the discontinuity of LTE coverage. However, it is inevitable to adopt VoIP over LTE to provide high quality voice service. In this paper, we investigate the capacity of VoIP over LTE. Our results indicate that spectral efficiency can be significantly improved as channel bandwidth increases in terms of VoLTE capacity. In addition, we can achieve higher VoLTE capacity without decreasing control channel capacity.

  • 기가급 이상의 고속 인터넷 접속이 필수적인 고성능 리눅스 서버 시스템에 사용되는 네트워크 프로토콜의 성능향상을 위하여, 기존의 소프트웨어 성능향상 기술과 고속 패킷 처리 전용의 네트워크 프로세서를 활용하여 고속 네트워크 프로토콜을 설계 및 구현하였다. 네트워크 정합 장치로는 인텔의 IXP1200 네트워크 프로세서가 탑재된 네트워크 카드를 사용하였고, 리눅스 커널의 TCP/UDP/IP 네트워크 프로토콜 스택 중 계층 3 IP 프로토콜 이하를 네트워크 프로세서가 처리하게 함으로써 커널의 오버헤드를 줄이고, 고속의 프로토콜 처리가 가능하게 되었다.

Playout Scheduling Method Based on Adaptive Jitter Estimation for Enhancing VoIP Speech Quality (VoIP 음질향상을 위한 적응적 지터추정 기반의 플레이아웃 스케줄링 방법)

  • Packet arrival-delay variation, so-called 'jitter' is one of the main factors that degrade the quality of voice in mobile devices at the Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). To resolve this issue, a playout scheduling based on adaptive jitter estimation for enhancing VoIP speech quality is proposed. The proposed algorithm copes with the effect of transmission jitter by expanding or compressing each packet according to the predicted network delay and variations. Additionally, the active network jitter estimation incorporates rapid detection of delay spikes and reacts to changes in network conditions. The experimental results have shown that the proposed algorithm delivers high voice quality in unstable network environment.

  • Today the energy consumption of ICT networks is about 10% of the worldwide power consumption and will be remarkably increased in the near future. For that reason, the energy saving topics of ICT networks are actually studying in various research institutes. This paper studies the possible energy saving methods assuring the QoS of networks on network level. This paper assumed the energy consumption models according to energy profiles of node and link in IP networks. Especially it formulates the energy problem of a minimum energy consumption with various energy profile models and suggests the methods of energy-aware QoS routing under energy saving and network QoS sustaining condition. It shows the large difference of energy saving according to energy profiles and the possibility of energy saving by using the appropriate energy profile model in the simulation experiment. This paper shows that min_used_path(MP) heuristic of energy-aware QoS routing is the excellent method compared with other heuristic methods as view of reduction ratio of nodes and links and energy saving effect under network QoS sustaining condition. As a result, this paper confirms that the min_used_path(MP) heuristic of energy-aware QoS routing can get energy saving and sustaining of network QoS in IP networks.

  • Despite its graceful bandwidth saving nature, IP multicast has not been successful in widely spreading and using. Challenging includes policy and technological issues such as inter-domain routing, multicast availability and reachability. Properly detecting and isolating the faults would be the first step to stabilize IP multicast. In this paper, we introduce a scalable multicast monitoring framework. To efficiently cope with multicast network and networking problems, it enlarges its monitoring scopes from collecting delivery statistics to verifying end-to-end multicast availability, reachability and interactivity. We carry out various networking experiments to verify the scalability and feasibility of the proposed framework.

  • iSCSI(Internet Small Computer Systems Interface)프로토콜은 TCP/IP 네트워크를 통해 블록 중심형 스토리지 데이터에 접근을 가능하게 하는 SCSI 전송프로토콜이다. iSCSI는 서버에서 스토리지장치로의 데이터 전송을 위해 표준 이더넷 스위치와 라우터를 사용하며, 또한 기존의 IP 네트워크를 사용하여 SAN 의 확장이 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 iSCSI 를 사용하여 여러가지 다른 환경에서 iSCSI 프로토콜의 성능을 분석한다. 첫째는 스토리지 장치에 따른 iSCSI 의 성능변화와 둘째는 현재의 네트웍 망에서의 변화이다. 이더넷에서 스토리지 데이터를 액세스하는데 있어서 시급했던 문제중에 하나는 충분한 대역폭과 낮은 지연율을 제공하는 것이었다. 최근의 이더넷 기술의 발전은 IP 네트워크를 통해 스토리지 장치를 액세스하는 것이 가능해졌으며 백본망을 비롯한 기가비트 이더넷이 활성화된 오늘날의 네트워크 망에서 iSCSI를 이용한 스토리지 서비스가 활성화 될 것이다. 본 논문에서는 iSCSI의 기반이 되는 IP네트워크에서의 iSCSI의 성능을 분석한 내용을 기술한다.
