Using high-fat diet-induced obese (DIO) mice, the mechanism of anti-adiposity and anti-obesity actions produced by Inonotus obliquus water extract (IOE) was investigated. Significant reduction in body weight in DIO mice orally administrated with IOE for 8 weeks compared to IOE-non-treated control mice was observed, which was attributed to the reduction of epididymal and mesenteric adipose tissue, but not the liver and skeletal muscle. Adiponectin synthesis in epididymal adipose tissue (EAT) and AMPK phosphorylation in the liver were significantly increased in IOE-treated DIO mice. Gene expression analysis showed that IOE-treated DIO mice had higher expression levels of lipogenic genes in EAT and fatty-acid oxidative genes in the liver, but lower expression levels of hepatic pro-inflammatory cytokines compared to IOE-non-treated controls. Our findings confirm a therapeutic potential of Inonotus obliquus for reducing adiposity and ameliorating hyperlipidemia to treat metabolic disorders.

Macrophages play a vital role in the innate immune system involving defensive cytokines such as TNF (tumor necrosis factor)-${\alpha}$ and nitric oxide (NO). Therefore, we try to elucidate the anti-inflammatory activity of Chaga mushroom (Inonotus Obliquus, IO) in murine macrophages. Raw 264.7 cells and peritoneal macrophages of mice were cultured with or without LPS/LPS + IFN-${\gamma}$ in the presence of IO aqueous extracts (IOE 0.2, 2, 20, 100 ${\mu}g$/mL) for 24 hr and 48 hr, respectively. Exposure of IOE caused the decrease of NO production and increase of TNF-${\alpha}$ production in dose-dependent manner in activated peritoneal macrophage in vitro. To further investigate anti-inflammatory effects of IO ex vivo, we orally administrated capsaicin (PC, 3 mg/kg/day) and IOE (100, 200, 400 mg/kg/day) for 4 consecutive days to C57BL/6 mice (7~9 weeks old, female), then observed the NO secretion and cytokine (TNF-${\alpha}$) production of LPS/LPS + INF-${\gamma}$-stimulated peritoneal macrophages. IOE inhibits NO secretion in dose-dependent manner both ex vivo and in vitro and increases the production of TNF-${\alpha}$ in vitro. In addition, we found that IOE possessed suppressive effects of LPS-stimulated TNF-${\alpha}$, IL-$1{\beta}$, COX-2, as well as iNOS expressions in Raw 264.7 cells. These findings indicate that IOE suppress not only the LPS-induced NO overproduction of murine peritoneal macrophages, but also iNOS, COX-2, TNF-${\alpha}$, and IL-$1{\beta}$ overexpression of LPS-induced Raw 264.7 cells. Consequently, our results suggest that IO may have the anti-inflammatory effects via suppression of the inflammatory cytokines and mediators, and be useful for the treatment of inflammatory diseases.

We investigated the anti-obesity effects of Ishige okamurae extract (IOE) on body weight, epididymal adipose tissue weight, plasma lipid levels, and leptin levels in high-fat diet (HFD)-induced obese mice. After inducing obesity by feeding 45% HFD for 4 weeks, C57BL/6J mice were randomly assigned to HFD or HFD containing 5% IOE, and then fed for 6 weeks. The body weight and epididymal adipose tissue weight were increased by HFD, but they were significantly less in animals fed HFD containing 5% IOE than in those fed HFD. Levels of plasma triglyceride, total cholesterol, and LDL-cholesterol were significantly lower, but the HDL-cholesterol level was significantly higher in animals fed HFD containing 5% IOE compared with the HFD group. The plasma leptin level was significantly lower in animals fed HFD containing 5% IOE. The diet containing 5% IOE did not show any adverse effects on liver and kidney functions. These results suggest that IOE has a potential as anti-obesity agent by reducing body weight and lowering the levels of obesity-related factors in plasma.

Brown alga (Ishige okamurae; IO) dietary supplements have been reported to possess anti-diabetic properties. However, the effects of IO supplements have not been evaluated on glucose metabolism in the pancreas and skeletal muscle. C57BL/6 N male mice (age, 7 weeks) were arranged in five groups: a chow diet with 0.9% saline (NFD/saline group), high-fat diet (HFD) with 0.9% saline (HFD/saline group). high-fat diet with 25 mg/kg IO extract (HFD/25/IOE). high-fat diet with 50 mg/kg IO extract (HFD/50/IOE), and high-fat diet with 75 mg/kg IO extract (HFD/75/IOE). After 4 weeks, the plasma, pancreas, and skeletal muscle samples were collected for biochemical analyses. IOE significantly ameliorated glucose tolerance impairment and fasting and 2 h blood glucose level in HFD mice. IOE also stimulated the protein expressions of the glucose transporters (GLUTs) including GLUT2 and GLUT4 and those of their related transcription factors in the pancreases and skeletal muscles of HFD mice, enhanced glucose metabolism, and regulated blood glucose level. Our results suggest Ishige okamurae extract may reduce blood glucose levels by improving glucose metabolism in the pancreas and skeletal muscle in HFD-induced diabetes.

Preventive maintenance can avail the generating unit to reduce cost and gain more profit in a competitive supply-side power market. so, it is necessary to perform reliability analysis on the systems in which reliability is essential. In this paper, FMECA assessment adopted using real historical failure data in Korean power plants for apply RCM analytical method. The stochastic FMECA is an engineering analysis and a core activity performed by reliability engineers to review the effects of probable failure modes of generating unit and assemblies of the power system on system performance. Optimal RCM schedule which is considered the severity level of each generating unit and failure probability from failure prediction of generating unit can be planned using proposed FMECA with IOE index.

Arirang has quite a long history in Korean music. Arirang means the heart is tingling. Jeongseon Arirang is well-known Arirang from the Gangwon province, so it shares certain features of Dongbu minyo (folksong), including the Menaritori. Jeongseon Arirang of Ok-sim Kim is pure and innocent. She has an ingenuous country voice. It is a kind of hope that provides our mental strength. Mental power is as important to our health as a eating right. Jeongseon Arirang sung by Ok-sim Kim is Seoul style of rhythmic pattern and melody. Jeongseon Arirang is designated as the Intangible Cultural Property No. 1 by the Gangwon province in 1971. This article outlines the emotional biography of Jeongseon Arirang of Ok-sim Kim relationship.

Chaga mushroom (Inonotus obliquus) has been identified to have various biological activities. This study was performed to investigate the potential of chaga mushroom as a immunomodulating functional food. When mouse splenocytes were exposed to various concentration of hot water extracts of chaga mushroom (IOE) with mitogens (Con A, LPS), splenocytes proliferation was significantly increased. Also, IFN-$\gamma$ and IL-4 levels were significantly enhanced. Therefore, our results suggest that chaga mushroom may have the potential of being an immunomodulating functional food.

The IOT environment, people connected to the network, object, everything such as space (Things) generates data in real time. The information between the object collecting, sharing, are utilized. Currently health care, research in various fields such as smart home has been promoted. Also appeared concepts emphasized all things(IOE) Internet connection between the geographic space and the Internet. Human, while important connections between the objects, such as objects, studies of efficient and secure authentication technologies have been developed. In this paper, we propose a RADIUS (Remote Authentication Dial In User Service) protocol for improved mutual authentication between each object in the IOT environment.

Adaptive Optical (AO) technology can compensate for wave-front errors in real-time to improve image and beam quality. The research and development on AO in China began in 1979. In 1980, the first laboratory on AO in China was established in Institute of Optics and Electronics (IOE), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Since then several AO systems have been built in this Laboratory. The 19-element system is the first AO system in the world ever used in inertial confinement fusion (ICF) facility in our knowledge. It corrects the static error of this large laser engineering. The 21-element system was firstly tested at the 1.2m telescope of Kunming Observatory in 1990 and then up-dated as an IR AO system installed at the 2.16m telescope of Beijing Observatory. The 37-element system was used with a turbulence cell in Laboratory on Atmospheric Optics in Hefei to conduct elementary research on Atmospheric Optics. The 61-element system for astronomical observation is newly developed. It has been successfully installed at the 1.2m telescope of Kunming Observatory and a laser guide star system will be integrated with the system. A compact AO system using our newly developed miniature DM for high resolution ophthalmic imaging of retina is also being built. The key elements of these AO systems, deformable mirrors and fast-steering mirrors, are all developed in this Laboratory. In this talk, the main configurations of these AO systems, some test results as well as the specifications of these active mirrors will be presented.
