Background : Analgesic effect of intra-articular morphine or ketoronac treatment alone, or a combination of both drugs, on postoperative pain were evaluated in 40 healthy male patients undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery. Method : Upon completion of surgery under spinal anesthesia, each patients knee joint was injected with 30 ml of 0.25% bupivacaine. Then, via parenteral or intra-articular route, one study group received morphine and other group received ketorolac. Results : Groups who received either intra-articular ketorolac, or morphine, experienced decreased postoperative pain reducing need for additional analgesics. The combination treatment of intra-articular morphine and ketorolac did not improved results. Conclusions : Singular use of either intra-articular morphine, or ketorolac, improves postoperative analgesia in patients undergoing arthroscopic sugery: Combination of these drugs offered no further advantage over its single prescription.

The intra-annual and interannual variations of total, high, middle, low clouds, and cloud forcing net solar radiation flux, cloud forcing net long-wave radiation flux, and SSTs over the tropical oceans are investigated with the use of ISCP D2, NCEP/NCAR Reanalysis for January 1983-December 1993. The intra-annual variation of total cloudiness is dominated by high and middle clouds in the western Pacific and central tropical oceans, the interannual variation of total cloudiness is also dominated by high and middle clouds in the central Pacific and Atlantic. The dominant intra-annual and interannual EOFs of total cloudiness have spatially coherent link with those SSTs. For the interannual EOFs, total cloudiness and SSTs are related to E1 nino-Southern Oscillation(ENSO). The second most important intra-annual EOFs of total cloudiness are related to Inter Tropical Convergence Zone(ITCZ). The third most important intra-annual EOFs show coherent relation in the western Pacific. The correlation analysis between cloud radiative effects and SSTs show spatially coherent relation over the tropical oceans even though cloud forcing cooling effect is much higher than heating effect.

Objective: This case was to report a case of Partial Tear of Triangular Fibrocartilage Complex treated by Intra-articular bee venom Pharmacopuncture. Methods: The patient was treated by Intra-articular bee venom Pharmacopuncture. The Effect of Treatment was evaluated by Visual Analog Scale(VAS) and Modified Mayo Wrist Score(Wrist Score). Results & Conclusions: After Treatment, Patient's VAS decreased and Wrist Score increased. For this results, Intra-articular Bee Venom Pharmacopuncture may be effective for Partial Tear of Triangular Fibrocartilage Complex.

In MPEG-4 video, Motion Adaptive Intra Refresh (MAIR) encodes a motion area macroblock in intra mode, thereby preventing the error propagation. Motion area is selected by difference of between current macroblock and previous macroblock. An effective implementation of the AIR is to reduce the maximum refresh time and estimate the error prone macroblock. However in the case or the MAIR, unnecessary macroblock can be encoded in intra mode. in this paper, a bitrate AIR is proposed that reduces the maximum refresh time by estimating the error prone macroblock more efficiently.

In the H.264/ AVC video coding standard, the intra-prediction coding with various block sizes offers a considerably high improvement in coding efficiency compared to previous standards. In order to achieve this, H.264/AVC uses the Rate-distortion optimization (RDO) technique to select the best intraprediction mode for a macroblock, and it brings about the drastic increase of the computation complexity of H.264 encoder. To reduce the computation complexity and stabilize the coding performance on visual quality, this paper proposed a fast intra-prediction mode decision algorithm using non-parametric thresholds and simplified directional masks. The use of nonparametric thresholds makes the intra-coding performance not be dependent on types of video sequences and simplified directional masks reduces the compuation loads needed by the calculation of local edge information. Experiment results show that the proposed algorithm is able to reduce more than 55% of the whole encoding time with a negligible loss in PSNR and bitrates and provides the stable performance regardless types of video sequences.

An efficient intra mode selection algorithm is proposed to reduce the computational complexity of inter frames for the H.264|AVC video encoding system. We propose an adaptive thresholding algorithm based on distribution characteristics of the sum of the absolute differences (SAD) of the best inter mode. Through comparative analysis, the proposed algorithm shows better speed up ratio with a negligible quality loss.

H.264/AVC is the upcoming video coding standard of ITU-T H.264 and ISO MPEG-4 AVC. The new standard can achieve a significant improvement up to 50％ in compression ratio compared to MPEG-4 advanced simple profile. In this paper, we propose the novel intra prediction scheme to speed up intra prediction process in H.264/AVC decoder and show the hardware architecture for it. The proposed scheme uses the concurrent processing of the 4$\times$4 intra prediction, which is based on that some 4$\times$4 block pairs in a 16$\times$16 luma block can be processed concurrently. The proposed scheme can reduce intra prediction time by 33 ％.

An intra-articular osteoid osteoma is a very rare cause of elbow pain, and its diagnosis and treatment remain challenging. Delayed diagnosis may lead to arthritic change of the joint. In this study, the authors present the occurrence of intra-articular osteoid osteoma in the right elbow of a 15-year-old male patient who presented with prolonged pain and limited motion owing to delayed diagnosis. After confirming the nidus of osteoid osteoma from radiographic evaluation, the lesion was completely removed arthroscopically. The patient presented a complete relief of symptoms and full range of motion. This is the first domestic report of successful arthroscopic treatment of an intra-articular osteoid osteoma of the elbow.

The H.264/AVC video coding standard shows superior coding efficiency by adopting many new techniques. However, the encoding complexity increases greatly to achieve higher coding efficiency. Especially, the rate distortion optimization technique, which is used to decide the intra-prediction mode, increases the encoding complexity. In this paper, we propose an efficient intra-prediction mode decision method. By using the variance of pixel values and the edge direction, the computational complexity of the intra-prediction mode decision is greatly reduced.

A two-part model is estimated to see if increasing returns and comparative advantage are empirically equivalent in explaining intra-industry trade. The model has separate mechanisms for determining the occurrence and the extent of intra-industry trade. Estimation is based on an augmented Grubel-Lloyd index derived from the data set on SITC 7 goods at the 3-digit SITC (Revision 4) for country pairs in which Korea is fixed as a source country. Estimation results show that both increasing returns and comparative advantage can explain the occurrence and the extent of intra-industry trade.
