  • In this study, dldctronic identification system of individual dairy cow was developed for autocatization of stoxkvreeding management. To automize the breeding management, it is necessary to obtain and analyze the individual information distinguished from others perferentially. Electronic identification system can distinguish individual livestock from others with electromagnetic wave signal recognition system. Electoronic identification system consists of transmitter transmitting the oscillated signal and receiver set. The transmitted signal from transmitter clung to individual livestock is received from the receiving antenna and the signal in different according to the established value of the register. By distinct signal recieved from the reciever, wi can distinguish the identity of a livestock from others clearly. This system can manage $2^{12}$ individuals with a reciever theoretically. However in order to reduce the errors by analogous signal, this system uses only triple number and can manage 1365 individuals with a reciever practically. This system can be connevtted to Max 232 and microcomputer for the breeding management efficiently.

  • In order to conduct research on oil originated in Mongolia for further application of petroleum not only as fuel but also as raw material for organic synthesis, we need to study the physical, chemical characteristics and individual, group hydrocarbon's compositions of main petroleum fractions. A number of studies and surveys on the physical and chemical characteristics, group hydrocarbon's composition of petroleum deposits in Zuun-Bayan, Sukhaibulag, Tsagaan Elst, Tamsagbulag have been carried out earlier through n-g-M, aniline point and dispersimetric methods successfully. Yet a detailed chromatographical and NMR spectroscopic study for the individual hydrocarbon's composition of Tamsagbulag oil main fractions has not been conducted. In the present study the results of GC analyses of gasoline fractions of wells 19-3, 19-13 and 19-10, Tamsagbulag (Eastern Mongolia) were presence. The gasoline fractions of given wells were characterized by the high concentration of paraffins and presence of trace amount of olefins. There were identified 69 paraffins, 45 naphthenes, 41 aromatics and 3 olefins in total 158 individual hydrocarbons from each samples of gasoline fraction. The first attempts to classify Tamsagbulag oil under the individual hydrocarbon's composition data were successfully conducted and the supposition of a genetic classification of given oil as "sapropelic" type was made.

The Relationship between the Prevalence of Suicidal Ideation among Older Adults and Individual·Regional Factors

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to find out the suicidal ideation rate of the elderly including individual and regional factors by sex. Methods: This is secondary analysis study that combines the data of the 2017 Community Health Survey with the e-indicator data set of the National Statistical Office, and a descriptive correlation study. Statistical analysis used hierarchical logistic regression by SAS 9.4. Results: The 11.5% of the elderly had suicidal ideation within the last year, and 18.4% in Chungnam is the highest. Individual characteristics include females, older people, lower education levels, no job or housewife, no spouse, less than seven hours of sleep per day on the average, low subjective health, high subjective stress, and the worse their economic conditions, the more they had suicide ideation. Considering regional characteristics, suicidal ideation tended to increase significantly as the number of hospital beds per 1,000 people and the rate of obesity was lower, the rate of stress perception was higher, and the odds value was small. When both individual and regional factors were considered, the model conformity of the suicidal ideation improved (ICC=0.0814). Conclusion: In order to lower the suicidal rate of the elderly, it seems that both individual and community factors need to be comprehensively approached from the stage of suicidal ideation in the community.

A Study on the current status of EUC and individual characteristics of end-users in Korean firms (최종사용자 컴퓨팅의 실태와 최종사용자 개인적 특성에 관한 연구)

  • This study has two research objectives related to end-user computing (EUC). One of the research objectives was to investigate the current status of EUC of Korean firms. Another research objective was to examine the relationship between individual differences of end-users and EUC success. Using survey data from 752 end-users of 23 firms, the current status of EUC and the relationship between individual differences of end-users and EUC success were investigated. The current status of EUC was examined from six perspectives : 1) what is the characteristics of EUC strategy of Korean firms, 2) what are the individual characteristics of end-users in Korean firms 3) what are the characteristics of tasks performed by end-users computer, 4) what are the application areas of EUC, 5) How end-users are satisfied with the support of firm, 6) what are system usage and satisfaction of end-users. It was also found that individual differences of end-users are related to EUC success. More specifically, it was shown that the male gender, younger age, higher level of education, higher rank and organizational tenure, higher math ability, thinking type of cognitive style, positive and optimistic attitudes toward computer, more experience with computer, more computer education and knowledge are individual differences variables associated with EUC success. The results of stepwise regression analysis suggested that the individual difference variables accounted for 14%, 25%, 39%, and 30% of the variances of four EUC success variables, satisfaction for outcome, satisfaction for ability, frequency of computer use, and the number of tasks, respectively. Theses empirical findings suggest that EUC managers should consider individual differences of end-users in managing EUC, such as education, training support, and human resource management, to maximize potential benefits of EUC.

A Study of Appropriateness of Space in Multi-Family Housing (아파트 공간규모의 적정성에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of the study was to analyze the appropriateness of space in multi-family housing by examining the current conditions of space, space norms and deficits, satisfaction with and needs for the spaces of individual rooms. The data came from the survey with 412 households living in Haeundae New Town, Busan and were analyzed with descriptive statistics. The appropriateness of space were mainly investigated in terms of housing size, number of bedrooms, and number of bathrooms. In terms of current space conditions, the highest portion of the households live in apartments with $20\sim30s$ pyong, 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. It was found that the space norms included housing with $30\sim40s$ pyong, 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. Households in current study tended to have some space deficits, especially in housing size and number or bathrooms. In general, the satisfaction with the current space of individual rooms were generally low except living room and master bedroom. It was also found that the households were more likely to make the second biggest bedroom bigger than now. The stages of family life cycle has significant effects on needs for the spaces of several rooms, such as dining room, room2, and room3.

Estimating the Nitrogen and Phosphorus Loads of Wintering Waterfowl Feces in Lake Paldang (팔당호에서 겨울철새 분변에 의한 질소와 인 오염부하량 산정)

  • We estimated the nitrogen and phosphorus loads of wintering waterfowl feces in Lake Paldang. The average number of individual birds that belonged to Anatidae species was 2,852.5 from 2005 to 2008 in Lake Paldang. The number of Anatidae reached 97.4% of the total number of individual birds. For evaluating the loading amounts of N and P by waterfowl to Lake Paldang, the feces dry weight (g/day) of each Anatidae species was estimated by multiplying the body weight of the each bird by 2.25% and assumed that N and P in feces contain 1.46% and 0.33%, respectively. We assigned probability 1/3 to the nutrient decomposition of the bird feces in water. The nitrogen loading by wintering waterfowl feces was 0.06 ton/year and the phosphorus loading was 0.001 ton/year. These amounts were 0.0002% of all N loadings and 0.0001% of all P loadings. Therefore the wintering waterfowl might have little impact on the water quality in terms of eutrophication in Lake Paldang.

Community Structure and Seasonal Occurrence of Chigger Mites in Soil Around Farmland (경작지 주변의 토양에서 털진드기류의 군집구조와 계절별 발생소장)

  • The chigger mites known as the vectors of Tsutsugamushi disease seriously increased due to the expansion of their habitats by the change of farmland into idle land, arboreta and golf courses with the progress of industrialization. These mites were surveyed for their nymphs in soil of four areas located in the northern part of Kyonggido known as the outbreak areas of Tsutsugamushi disease. Total number of the chigger mites collected in the soil of four surveyed areas was 2576, and two genera and ten species including Leptotrombidium palpale were indentified. Among them L. pallidum was the dominant species with the highest occurrence rate of 62 percent. Nine species occurred on the bank of Changrungchon that has been idled for more than ten years, but six or seven species occurred in Wonhundong and Ilsandong that hans been idled for less than five years. The number of individuals collected was also higher in Changrungchon than the other sites. Seasonal occurrence of these mites showed a peak with 166 mites in November on the west slope and another with 192 mites in February on the east slope of the bank of Changrungchon, but none in June. Component ratio of individual numbers for L. palpale, L. pallidum, L. orientalis and L.scutelaris were 19, 62, 9 and 3 percent, respectively. Individual number of L. pallidum and L. scutelaris appeared to some extent of 397 and 23 mites, respetively.

Effects of elevated CO2 concentration and temperature on growth and production of Oryza sativa L. cv. Ilmi, one of the main rice varieties in Korea

  • This research was conducted to examine the changes in growth and production of Oryza sativa L. cv. Ilmi, which was developed to cultivate high yielding rice variety in the Southern plains of Korea. The seedlings of the rice were cultivated from May to October in 2012 under three different conditions: control, AC-AT, ambient $CO_2$ + ambient temperature; AC-ET, ambient $CO_2$ + elevated temperature; EC-ET, elevated $CO_2$ + elevated temperature. The aboveground biomass, belowground biomass, the total biomass of the rice, and panicle weight per individual were the heaviest in the EC-ET. But, the number of grains per panicle and the weight of one grain was higher at the condition of AC-ET and EC-ET than that of AC-AT. The number of tiller was higher at the condition of AC-AT and AC-ET than that of EC-ET. However, there was no significant difference in the number of panicles per individual and the ripened grain rate among the control and global warming treatments. Crop yield was the highest in the EC-ET. This result means that the global warming condition should be considered in the selection of suitable paddy field for the limibyeo in the future.

Production of Sexual Hybrids Nicotiana rustica X N. tobacum via in vitro Culture .of Fertilized ovules. (배주배양에 의한 Nicotiana rustica와 N. tabacum의 잡종식물 육성)

  • The present study examined various environmental and cultural media conditions for in vitro "rescue" of cross-fertilized ovules formed through sexual crosses between Nicotiana rustica and N. tabacum cv. BY4. The response ovules to two cultural procedures was compared; ovules were cultured either separately or left attached to the placenta. Total yield of seedlings and percent of normal seedlings were increased by culturing individual ovules separately, rather than on excised placenta. Total yield of seedlings and number of normal seedlings were produced following in vitro culture of individual fertilized ovules of N. rustica X M tabacum cv. BY4 at four days post-pollination on NN medium containing 2% sucrose. In the in vitro culture of fertilized ovules, high sucrose concentration increased the frequency of seedlings of abnormal appearance. Therefore, sucrose should be supplied to developing ovules at gradually decreased concentrations. Culture of fertilized ovules from three to eight days after pollination gave increased number of seedlings, but with delayed cultral time the number of morphologically normal seedling were decreased. Hybrids were uniform in appearance and showed vegetative heterosis but flower characteristics were generally intermediate between those of the parents. All hvbrids evaluated were self-sterile.f-sterile.

Leaf Exudates of Vicia faba and their Effects on Botrytis fabae and Some Associated Fungi

  • Analysis of leaf exudates of Vicia faba using paper chromatography to identify individual amino acids and sugars qualitatively was investigated. The results revealed that the number of identified amino acids detected in the leaf exudates of the susceptible plants was more than those of resistant plants. The results also showed an increase in the number of amino acids exuded by infected leaves, but no marked difference in sugars of infected and non infected plants. Lithium chloride application led to decrease in amino acid and sugar contents. The number of amino acids and sugars was also decreased with leaf age. Botrytis fabae and the selected fungal species(Alternaria alternata, Fusarium oxysporum and Aspergillus niger) were used to show the effect of individual amino acid and sugar on their spore germination. It was observed that all amino acids stimulated the fungal spore germination except serine which inhibited its spore germination. In case of A. alternata, spore germination was stimulated by all amino acids except serine, alanine, glutamic acid, arginine and methionine which caused the inhibition. In case of F. oxysporum, aspartic and glutamic acids inhibited spore germination but the other amino acids stimulated its spore germination. Aspartic acid and phenyl alanine inhibited the spore germination of A. niger. All the identified sugars(galactose, glucose, fructose and rhamnose) stimulated spore germination of all tested fungi.
