This study examines the impact of the Internet on the organizational innovation. With the introduction of digital technology, the entire organizational process and structure is now being restructured. The purpose of this study is to develop a framework to help classify the organizational innovations and understand organizational innovation processes. This study suggests that the wide diffusion of digital technology has affected the modularization of the organizational routines and processes. The modularization of knowledge and organization give rise to a new organizational architecture, a modular architecture. In the Fordist regime, the characteristics of organizations were depicted as vertically integrated and tightly coupled system. The organizational processes and routines were tightly linked and integrated. However, the diffusion of Internet, which has a tendency to disassemble this tightly coupled system, has resulted in the emergence of loosely coupled and vertically disintegrated system. Eventually the modular architectures are emerging as a new organizational paradigm in the post-Fordist regime. In this study, the modes of organizational innovation is classified as follows. If the organizational innovation enhances both existing organizational components and tile tightly coupled architecture, it is incremental innovation (Mode 1): if it destroys both existing components and the tightly coupled architecture, it is radical innovation (Mode 4): however if only the tightly coupled architecture is transformed into the modular architecture and the codification of organizational component is enhanced, the innovation is architectural (Mode 3). The last one is component innovation (Mode 2), in which existing organizational components are destroyed but tightly coupled architecture is enhanced. It is argued that the organizational innovation process follows Mode I$\longrightarrow$ Mode II $\longrightarrow$ Mode III $\longrightarrow$ Mode IV in order.

This paper summarizes the results of a numerical study conducted to analyze the effect of selected process parameters on material flow and thread profile in thread rolling of large diameter blanks. Based on the previous work where a plane strain mode was found to provide a reasonable approximation of the thread rolling process, the effect of varying thread form, friction factor, flow stress, and blank diameter on effective strain and thread height was analyzed using the finite element code DEFORM. This study show that effective strain for flank angle, that blank diameter had important effect on the as-rolled thread while flow stress, friction factor, and crest round of dies had significant impact on effective strain at the thread root and crest and load of thread rolling. While the rate of strain harding was found to have an effect on the crest profile, the results indicate that it is the primary factor responsible for seam formation in rolled threads.

Due to the problems of global warming, the frequency of meteorological extremes such as droughts, floods and the annual rainfall amount are suddenly increasing. Even though the increase of greenhouse gases, for example, is thought to be the main factor for global warming, its impact on global climate has not yet been revealed clearly in rather quantitative manners. Therefore, tile objective of this study is to inquire the change of precipitation condition due to climate change by global warming. In brief, this study want to see its assumption if rainfall quantile estimates are really changing. In order to analyze the temporal change, the rainfall quantile estimates at the Seoul rain gauge stations are estimated for the 21-year data period being moved from 1908 to 2002 with 1-year lag. The main objective of this study is to analyze the variability of rainfall quantile estimates using four methods. Next, The changes in confidence interval of rainfall quantile are evaluated by increasing the data period. It has been found that confidence interval of rainfall quantile estimates is reduced as the data period increases. When the hydraulic structures are to be designed, it is important to select the data size and to re-estimate the flood prevention capacity in existing river systems.

NPS pollutant loads from sandy clayey and clayey loam runoff plots were measured. Runoff plots were 2$\times$10 m in size and 8~10% in slope and paddy area was 4,620 $m^2$. Soybean, corn, tobacco and control (natural weed) were cultured. Precipitation during the growing season of June to October, 2002 was 869.5 mm. Runoff and water quality were measured more than 10 times during the measurements depending on the growing stage. Pollutants loads were estimated by using respective concentration and runoff volume. Runoff occurred when daily rainfall exceeded about 30 mm. The largest runoff was observed from the paddy but pollutant loads were larger from upland crops than those from paddy. SS loads from paddy and upland were 1.4 ton/ha/yr and 3.1~4.3 ton/ha/yr, respectively. COD loads 30 kg/ha/yr and 66~90 kg/ha/yr, T-N loads 13 kg/ha/yr and 14~23 kg/ha/yr, T-P loads 1 kg/ha/yr와 4 kg/ha/yr, nitrate nitrogen loads 1 kg/ha/yr and 4~8 kg/ha/yr, and phosphate phosphorus loads 0 kg/ha/yr and 4~6 kg/ha/yr, respectively. It was concluded that NPS pollutant loads from upland crop culture have greater impact on the quality of the receiving water body than those from paddy culture.
Technological innovation has been regarded as the core competence for the economic growth of individual, as well as organization and country. Pharmaceutical innovation, what we call new medicines, influence people's longevity and productivity by increasing output per hour worked. Therefore, using claims data on virtually all the drugs and diseases of over 550,000 people enrolled in National Health Insurance Program in Korea, we examined the impact of the vintage (original FDA and KFDA approval year) of drugs used to treat a patients from July 1st to December 31st in 2002 on the patient's mortality at the end of 2004, controlling for demographic characteristics(age and sex), utilization of medical services, and the nature and complexity of illness. We found that people using newer drugs are less likely to die at the end of 2004, conditional on covariates. The estimated mortality rates were declining with respect to drug vintage for 1970s, 1980s and 1990s and highly significant. In addition to estimating the model for the entire sample, we estimated the model separately for several disease categories classified by Korean Classification of Disease. Estimates of three drug vintage variables for subgroups of people with (1)neoplasms, (2)endocrine, nutritional and metabolic diseases, and (3)the diseases of circulatory system displayed similar patterns.

The frictional properties of nylon can be improved by the impregnation of lubricants like wax, oil or graphite. The inclusion of these lubricants, on the other hand, decreases the mechanical properties of nylon, such as tensile strength, hardness and impact strength. As an attempt to maximize frictional properties, while minimizing a decrease in the mechanical properties, various kinds of nylon containing 3 wt% wax and varying contents of oil or graphite were prepared. It was found that the synergy effects to improve both friction and anti-wear properties is evidenced by impregnating a combination of wax/oil or wax/graphite. The wear rate of a nylon containing 3 wt% of wax and 1.5 wt% of oil turned out to be 1/4 of that of nylon impregnated with 8 wt% wax or 8 wt% oil. The latter showed the lowest wear rate among the nylons prepared with a single lubricant. In addition, the friction coefficient of the developed nylon was found to be very similar to the nylon with 8 wt% wax only.

As the increase of internal users, there are many enterprises and organizations that regard the internal as the great ■marketing superhighway■. But the entrance of too many e-Business enterprises and shopping sites makes them to compete each other Consequently many sites are created and disappeared in the cyberspace. Although fascination and speculation surrounds the impact of the e-Business on business models via benefit-based concept, there is little evidence underlying all this speculation. This article provides on such data set. It reports on critical Issues that e-Business enterprises found salient as they browsed through e-Business model infrastructure on the world wide web, internet-based. We gathered domestic e-Business enterprise's kinds of business model during 2000∼2002 via KMAC's (Korea Management Association Consultants) K-WPI and K-WPC. We classified e-Business models as shopping mall, auction, community. value-chain, collaboration, information brokerage, advertising, Internet service, marketing that we had identified from the existing literature on business models. This study translated these models to the e-Business model context and explored their relative salience. The results suggest that e-Business manager need to think more about how they perform on the issues known to affect decision making for designing e-Business models. We offer advice for enhancing the effectiveness of business models.

The effects of relatively low lead content (0.2~0.3) on the 2223 phase formation and transport property of Bi-2223/Ag tapes have been investigated. The results show that lead contents have great impact on the phase assemblage of precursors, subsequently, on the phase formation and transport property of silver sheathed BSCCO-2223 tapes. Powders containing Pb=0.25 and Pb=0.3 resulted in the nearly identical $J_c$ values in fully processed tapes, but leaded to significant difference on the phase formation process. For the case of Pb=0.2, both low conversion fraction of 2212 to 2223 and low $J_c$ value were obtained in final reacted tape, which was probably due to lack of enough liquid phase to facilitate the phase transformation.
A comparative study using electron-beam(EB) and thermal curing techniques was carried out to determine the effect of cure behavior and thermal stability of epoxy resins. In this work, benzylquinoxalinium hexafluoroantimonate(BQH) was used as a latent cationic catalyst for an epoxy resin. According to the thermogravimetric analysis(TGA), the decomposed activation energy based on Coats-Redfern method was higher in the case of thermal curing technique. This could be interpreted in terms of slow thermal diffusion rate resulted from high crosslink density of the thermally cured epoxy resin. However, the increase of hydroxyl group in the epoxy resin cured by EB technique was observed in near-infrared spectroscopy(NIRS) measurements, resulting in improving the stable short aromatic chain structure, integral procedural decomposition temperature, and finally ductile properties for high impact strengths.
In this study, the PPS/ABS blend system was investigated in order to identify the relationship between the incorporation of compatabilizing moieties and the mechanical properties. ABS resin was chemically modified by the incorporation of maleic anhydride using reactive extrusion method to yield MABS resin, and PPS/MABS blend was prepared by a twin screw extruder. Single glass transition behavior was observed in the various compositions of PPS/MABS blend by dynamic mechanical analysis study. Upon the examination of the mechanical properties, the PPS/MABS blend exhibited an enhanced tensile, flexural and impact strength, which might be due to the better chemical compatibilization to result in the reduced interfacial tension between each components.
