음성인식을 위한 청각신경 정보처리 모델링 (Auditory Neural Information Processing Modeling for Speech Recognition)

  • 음성처리 및 인식기기의 기능을 향상시키기 위해서는 생체공학적인 방법을 이용한 인체의 청각신경 정보처리 시스템의 연구가 중요하다. 그래서 본 논문에서는 와우각의 메카니즘을 분석한 기저막의 IIR 디지털 필터 모델링이 연구되었다. 특히 음소검출필터와 측징 추출을 위한 변별기능을 이용한 자음인식의 다층신경 모델을 구성한다. 이 모델은 자음인식에 있어서 90% 이상의 높은 감지율을 나타내고 있다.

  • In this paper we show the performance of neural Chandrasekhar filtering which is a special case for the new method of neural filtering using the artificial neural network systems developed recently for the filtering problems of linear and nonlinear, stationary and nonstationary stochastic signals. The neurofilter developed has either the finite impulse response(FIR) structure or the infinite impulse response(IIR) structure. The neurofilter differs from the conventional linear digital FIR and IIR filters because the artificial neural network system used in the neurofilter has nonlinear structure due to the sigmoid function. Numerical studies for the estimation of a second order Butterworth process are performed by changing the structures of the neurofilter in order to evaluate the performance indices under the changes of the output noises or disturbances. In the numerical studies both Chandrasekhar filtering estimates and true signals are used as the training signals for the neurofilter. The results obtained from the studies verified the capabilities which are essentially necessary for on-line filtering of various stochastic signals.

이산 시변 상태공간 모델을 위한 최적 유한 임펄스 응답 필터 (An Optimal FIR Filter for Discrete Time-varying State Space Models)

  • In this paper, an optimal FIR (Finite-Impulse-Response) filter is proposed for discrete time-varying state-space models. The proposed filter estimates the current state using measured output samples on the recent time horizon so that the variance of the estimation error is minimized. It is designed to be linear, unbiased, with an FIR structure, and is independent of any state information. Due to its FIR structure, the proposed filter is believed to be robust for modeling uncertainty or numerical errors than other IIR filters, such as the Kalman filter. For a general system with system and measurement noise, the proposed filter is derived without any artificial assumptions such as the nonsingular assumption of the system matrix A and any infinite covariance of the initial state. A numerical example show that the proposed FIR filter has better performance than the Kalman filter based on the IIR (Infinite- Impulse-Response) structure when modeling uncertainties exist.

  • In this paper, an adaptive IIR (infinite impulse response) notch filter of lattice type is constructed and its adaptation algorithm is proposed for the detection and retrieval of a sine wave signal embedded in noise. A modified method which adapts only one coefficient of the filter is also suggested. All these methods adapt the coefficients while keepting the poles of the filter inside the unit circle on z-plane, and thus they satisfy the condition on the stability of the IIR filter after it has converged. To investigate the convergence characteristics of these methods such as convergence speed and output S/N ratio, intensive computer simulation has been performed by varying the frequency of the sine wave and the input S/N ratio. And the results of the simulation have been compared to those of Rao and Kung's which shows relatively fast convergence speed. The methods proposed here, especially the second one. shows faster convergence speed and higher output S/N ratio than the Rao and Kung's.

  • 본 논문에서는 안정성이 강화된 다중채널 적응 필터를 사용한 능동소음 제어 시스템을 제안한다. 초기에는 IIR필터의 극점을 원점방향으로 강제로 이동시켜 안정성을 확보하고, 망각인수를 도입하여 정상상태에 도달하면 최적 수렴치로 유지하게 함으로서 제어 정상상태 성능에는 영향을 미치지 않고 안정도가 강화 된 적응 IIR 필터 알고리즘을 제안한다. LMS 알고리즘의 수렴 성능을 개선하기 위한 방법으로 정규화기법을 사용하면 수렴 속도가 향상되지만 이에 비례하여 안정성이 떨어지게 된다. 소음원 입력의 파워가 시변 할 경우 적응 알고리즘의 안정성이 약화되는 문제점이 발생하는데, 본 논문에서는 Leaky LMS알고리즘과 비슷한 구조이지만 안정성이 강화된 IIR정규화 LMS 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안한 알고리즘의 유용성을 비교 분석하기 위하여 실험을 수행하였다.

  • In this paper, active control of noise in a HVAC duct is considered. Most adaptive control filters have used FIR structures based on filtered-x LMS algorithms. But, the IIR structures are more desirable for the active control of duct noise in order to remove the poles introduced by the acoustic feedback and presented an algorithm to adjust the coefficients of an IIR filter using the recursive least mean square (RLMS) algorithm. A smoothed LMS algorithm is proposed to improve a convergent speed of filter parameters when the noise is wide band and power of input is time varying. And computer simulations have performed to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

디지털 필터를 이용한 소형 심전도계의 구현 (Implementation of a Mini ECG Using a Digital Filter)

  • In this paper, a low-csst ECG system using a digital filter was implemented. After amplifying the analog ECG signal, it is converted into a digital signal and filtered. The developed ECG module is miniaturized by removing the analog filter element that occupies the existing volume and replacing it with a digital filter using a 3-stage Butterworth filter which is one of IIR filters. It uses a serial monitoring program with C# to check and save the ECG waveform measured on a computer screen. The ECG system using a developed digital filter in this paper uses a low-cost processor instead of an expensive, high-end processor, and its size and price are reduced by converting the analog filter to a digital filter. In addition, since the waveform of the developed ECG system is similar to the actual ECG waveform of MIT-BIU, it is considered that the existing analog filter can be replaced with the developed digital filter.

  • 현대 사회에서 디지털 처리 기술은 다양한 분야에서 응용되고 있다. 대표적으로 음성 및 영상 처리에 관한 신호 처리 기술을 들 수 있으며, 이러한 신호 처리를 위한 필터는 크게 FIR 필터와 IIR 필터로 나눌 수 있다. FIR 필터는 IIR 필터에 비해 높은 차수로써 구현이 되어지는 단점이 있으나, 안정적이며 구현하기에 용이하다는 장점을 가진다. 또한 선형 위상 응답 특성을 가지고 있어, 파형 정보 특성이 중요시되는 곳에 사용되어지고 있다. FIR 필터 구현에 있어 주요한 문제점은 깁스현상을 최소화시키는 것이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 변형된 창함수를 이용한 FIR 디지털 필터를 사용하여 기존에 제시된 방법과 비교하였다.

Model based optimal FIR synthesis filter for a nosy filter bank system

  • In this paper, a new multirate optimal finite impulse response (FIR) filter is proposed for the signal reconstruction in the nosy filter bank systems. The multirate optimal FIR filter replaces the conventional synthesis filters and the Kalman synthesis filter. First, the generic linear model is derived from the multirate state space model for an autoregressive (AR)input signal. Second, the multirate optimal FIR filter is derived from the multirate generic linear model using the minimum variance criterion. This paper also provides numerical examples and results. The simulation results illustrate that the performance is improved compared with conventional synthesis filters and the proposed filter has advantages over the Kalman synthesis filter.

  • This paper proposes several types of 2-D interpolation lifters for HD-MAC decoder. Filters considered here are FIR, IIR, median, and FMH. Their structure and coefficients have been determined to be appropriate for real-time computation as well as to have good reconstructability. Results or computer simulation are also presented to show the performance of those filters.
