Mathematical Modeling of Two-Dimensional Diffraction Analysis in Anisotropic Media (비등방성 매질에서의 2차원적 회절현상의 수학적 모델링)

  • 본 논문에서는 비등방성 매질에서의 2차원적 회절현상을 수학적으로 모델링하였다. 비등방성 매질의 2차 포물선 근사법과 프레즈넬 근사법을 적용하기 위하여 전파방향에 따른 표면파 속도의 역수를 포물선으로 가정하였다. 128${\circ}$ Rotated $LiNbO_{3}$ 기판을 사용한 SAW IF Bandpass Filter에서의 회절현상을 모의 설계하여 그 결과를 회절현상이 없는 이상적인 경우와 비교하였다. 또한 전산화 모의 설계 결과와 실제로 제작된 SAW Filter 특성결과를 비교하여 $LiNbO_{3}$ 기판을 사용한 SAW Filter에서도 프레즈넬 근사법이 대체적으로 일치하는 것을 알 수 있었다.

Frequency Demodulation Techniques for Detecting Gear Movement (기어의 움직임 검출을 위한 주파수 분석법)

  • In diagnosing of mechanical machinery, it is often improtant to get information about the movement inside the machine casing. If the values of internal tities may be derived from the measurement using sensors installed on the external casing, it would be much better in many senses. This paper discusses extracting internal gear movements byfrequencydemodulation from gear meshing force signatures which can be recovered from the vibrations though inverse filter. There are several way in demodulating signals. In this paper, especially, Hibert Transform, Wigner-Ville distribution, and Teager energy operator are examined and compared. Effects of noise on the frequency demodulation methods and the behavior of bandpass filtered noisy signal are discussed using simulated time-varying frequency signals.

  • In this paper, we represent characteristics and equivalent circuit of donut type resonator of defected ground structure (DGS), and can control resonant frequency with chip capacitor. In General, DGS operates like with parallel LC resonator. We found out variation of resonance frequency when capacitor is placed on slot of DGS. If the chip capacitor replace with varactor diode, the resonance frequencies can be controlled by voltage. This tualable resonator can apply to voltage controlled oscillator and tunable bandpass filter.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel focus measure that determines in-focus and out-of-focus region in an image. In addition, we achieved extended depth of field by blending the acquired image and Wiener filtered image using a decision map based on the designed focus measure. Since conventional focus measures are based on the amount of high frequency components in an acquired image, the measures may not be accurate if there exist high frequency components in out-of-focused region. To overcome the problem, we designed the novel focus measure based on effective band pass filtering. In simulations and experiments, the proposed method showed better performance than existing methods.

An Optical Pulse-Width Modulation Generator Using a Single-Mode Fabry-Pérot Laser Diode

  • We have proposed and experimentally verified a pulse-width modulation (PWM) generator which directly generated a PWM signal in the optical domain. Output waveforms were clear at the repetition rate of 16 MHz; the duty cycle (DC) was from 14.7% to 72.1%; and the DC-control resolution was about 4.399%/dB. The PWM generator' operation principle is based on the injection-locking property of a single-mode Fabry-$P{\acute{e}}rot$ laser diode (SMFP-LD). The SMFP-LD, which has a self-locked mode wavelength at ${\lambda}_{PWM}$, was used to detect the power of the injection-locking signal (optical analog input). If the analog input power is high, the SMFP-LD is locked to the wavelength of the input signal ${\lambda}_a$ and there is no output after an optical bandpass filter (OBF). If the analog input power is low, the SMFP-LD is unlocked and there is output signal at ${\lambda}_{PWM}$ after the OBF. Thus, the SMFP-LD plus the OBF provide digital output for an analog input. The DC of the output PWM signal can be controlled by tuning the power of the analog input.

The Design of Ku-Band Cavity BPF (Ku-Band Cavity BPF설계)

  • In this paper, a 2 stage 6-pole bandpass filter(BPF) is designed and implemented by using triple-mode cavity for satellite payload system. The BPF has a 100MHz bandwidth at the center frequency of 14.5GHz(Ku-band) and the response of the filter is the Chebyshev function. The cavity filter uses two orthogonal $TM_{113}$ modes and one $TM_{012}$ mode. The coupling between the adjacent cavityes(intercavity coupling) results in a Chebyshev response and is accomplished by only H-filed component of If modes. The size and location of intercavity slot is determined by the coupling equation from E-and H-field of TE and TM resonant modes in circular cavity. The 2-stage 6-pole triple-mode cavity BPF has the insertion loss of 2.4dB and the reflection loss of 15dB in the passband. The triple-mode BPF proposed in this thesis can be used as channel filters for satellite payload system and can minimize filter assembly in general wireless communication system.

The Design of Low Noise Downconverter for K-band Satellite Multipoint Distribution Service (K-band SMDS용 저잡음 하향변환기의 설계)

  • In this paper, we designed a downconverter for K-band satellite multipoint distribution service(SMDS). The designed downconverter consists of a low noise amplifiers, bandpass filter, stable local oscillator, drain mixer and If Amplifiers. Low noise amplifiers show 28㏈ gain and 1.5㏈ noise figure in the frequency range of 19.2㎓~20.2㎓, and a band pass filter has a -l㏈ insertion loss, and 18.25㎓ Stable local oscillator which is dielectric resonant oscillation, We obtained that the output power of the 18.25㎓ oscillation frequency is 0.5㏈m and the phase noise is the -84.67㏈c at 10KHz offset frequency. With the input RF signal the 19.2㎓~20.2㎓, conversion gain of the drain mixer shows 5㏈ at the Intermediate frequency range of 950MHz~1950MHz. We have proved that the designed downconverter satisfied the specification of a K-band satellite multipoint distribution service and it can be applied to the satellite internet receiver.
