Influencing Factors on Knowledge Adoption of Administrator in an Online Idea Proposal Community: Focusing on the Tourism Idea Bank of Korea Tourism Organization (온라인 아이디어 제안 커뮤니티에서 담당자 지식수용에 영향을 미치는 요인: 한국관광공사 관광아이디어뱅크 게시판을 중심으로)

  • Recently, although many government agencies, including the Korea Tourism Organization, have been operating two-way interactive online idea proposal communities in order to reflect the various ideas of citizens in business, the utilization rate is still extremely low due to the lack of public's understandings and management's commitments. Therefore, based on previous studies on the characteristics of information quality, this research (1) derives key factors constituting idea quality in the context of online idea proposal communities, (2) classifies them into the content cues (value-added, relevancy, originality, and completeness) and the non-content cue (amount of writing) according to the heuristic-systematic model, and (3) finally validates how these content/non-content cues influence the knowledge adoption of administrators in an online idea proposal community. The findings of the structural equation modeling analysis with all of the 240 completed idea proposals in the 'Tourism Idea Bank' of Korea Tourism Organization reveal that, among content cues, value-added, relevancy, and originality have a significant effect on knowledge adoption. Moreover, it is also found that amount of writing as a non-content cue has a positive moderation effect on the relationships between originality and knowledge adoption.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest necessity of idea expression method suitable for people in our country and deduct Graphic Ideation method by grasping problems of existing idea expression method. The idea expression method (association stimulating method, conceptual shifting method, information combination method) used by many graphic designers is effective in suggesting initial keyword, but has difficulty in the course of deducting the concept. Though deduction of core keyword is important to develop as a concept, the course of separation, combination in keyword connection play an important role, and most of idea expression methods are unavailable for suggesting concrete method for the course. Also as most of idea expression methods were developed and delivered in English-speaking world, it is suitable in English-speaking world culture which has thinking focused on words, but people in our country, which have thinking focusing on narration, cannot consider difference in language thinking due to limitation in idea for each stage. This study deducted idea expression method suitable for emotion of people in our country by proving the value of this idea expression method with style of suggesting and demonstrating 4 hypotheses in order to make the course for easy connection, separation, combination of keyword deducted by existing idea expression method, as well as suggesting idea expression method design based on these hypotheses. This idea expression method used rhetoric so that it is suitable for people our country who are strong for narration expression.

The Creativity Forecasting of Design Idea Sketches According to the Ambiguity of Visual Stimuli and Idea-Sharing Situations (시각자극의 모호함과 아이디어 교류의 유무에 따른 디자인 아이디어의 창의성 예측)

  • A decision tree analysis was performed by categorizing the idea sketches produced in the group environment into three different levels of visual stimuli ambiguity (vague, ambiguous, and definite) and two idea-sharing situations (before and after). We then examined the predicted values for the creativity of each group's idea sketches, the factors that led to high creativity scores, and their standards. The results of the analyses indicated that the Resistance to Premature Closure, Originality, Elaboration, ness, and Similarity represented important predictors of the creativity of design idea sketches according to the level of ambiguity of the visual stimuli used and whether ideas were shared or not. The group presented with vague stimuli after sharing ideas scored the highest predicted creativity value and the group presented with definite stimuli after sharing ideas scored the lowest predicted creativity value.

A Study on Comparative Amount of Idea Thinking between Brainstorming and Webstorming (브레인스토밍과 WebStorming의 아이디어 발상량(發想量) 비교 연구)

  • To develop a creative design concept, amount of idea thinking between team members is important. In the process of planning to proposal brainstorming helps clarification of problems and allows a creative solution. Here, idea generation is to express thinking into words, and greater amount of idea is more valued than to choose one fine idea at first. This paper studies actual processes of brainstorming, and we utilize network services upgraded in Web and multimedia techniques to develop idea with arrangement. We compare the amount of idea generation by groups and topics with Brainwriting and Braindrawing of Webstorming, without limitation of space and time. Then, we propose a creative idea thinking by analyzing the characteristics of design team members in various aspects. This result will contribute in improving national potential value and design competitiveness by the help of design and IT, on product research and marketing.

  • 본 논문에서는 암호화 알고리즘인 IDEA(International Data Encryption Algorithm)를 분석하고 TMS320C542 EVM 보드에서 어셈블리 언어로 구현하였다. 또한 수행 속도에 매우 큰 영향을 미치는 핵심 연산인 모듈러 곱셈 연산에 대한 고속 알고리즘을 채택하여 속도 개선을 이루었다.

  • The objective of this study is to present a new design method at the idea brainstorming process, which requires a great deal of time and effort to seek their own ideas in existing design process and to develop a user support idea forms generation system called OCIGS (Openware Creative Idea Generation System) that makes it possible to create a variety and 3D forms as well as a quantitative evaluation data for the actual types that compose the aesthetic factors and designs of qualitative standards. In order to achieve these objectives : First, overcoming the limitation of 3D form generation ability by establishing visual application system, Second, accepting users' opinions by generating 3D images dynamically, analysing and giving information on the preferred ones on the web on real time, Third, identifying tendency of preference so that they can generate preferred colors and images in future by updating image combination and dropping low-preferred ones. This system would play a role as an idea or form generation application in the actual 3d form design development process.

  • This paper proposes how to develop the EC(Electronic Commerce) for industrial-related items, which has not been tried yet in EC areas. Usually industrial design derives an idea and concept for a new product from the needs of end-users and manufacturers. Then this product is developed through the design process such as idea-sketch, rendering, and design modeling mock-up. The purpose of this paper is to vitalize the trade for some items which are necessary for the design process and are intermediate products. That is, the idea and concept from the needs and seeds can be dealt with as one item. Furthermore, the idea-sketch and rendering materializing from the idea can be an item also. By doing so, excellent design items which could be thrown away in the middle of the process can be made into valuable commodities. Then we can specify the role of Designer, Manufacturer, and End-User as a buyer or a seller.

Empirical Validation for Verbal- EBS Effect to Cognitive Stimulation (구두 형식의 전자적 브레인 스토밍이 인지적 자극에 미치는 영향에 대한 실증적 연구)

  • Given the industry's unprecedented attention and dedication of resources to voice recognition, this paper introduces and explores a novel idea generation technique whereby ideas are captured directly through verbalization rather than forcing group members to type ideas. A group simulator was used to measure the idea generation performance of individuals who input ideas verbally or via typing in the context of nominal and interacting groups. The results clearly indicate that verbal input represents a more desirable mechanism in a computer-mediated idea generation environment. Liberating group members from the keyboard produces remarkable performance gains. Verbalizing ideas helps individuals focus on analytical thinking and leverage group member ideas, ultimately facilitating the creation of ideas pools that are vastly superior in terms of quantity and quality. These effects were found across nominal and interacting groups. The implications of these results for future research and the design of technologies are discussed.
