  • RFID (Radio Frequency Identification), which is a kind of the electronic tag, is a wireless access device using the radio frequency for recognizing the ID information. It has a variety of application such as the bus card, gate access card, distribution industry, and management of construction materials. The performance and size of RFID depend on the penetrability, recognition ratio, memory size, multi tag recognition, external pollution dust, and exterior impact, and RFID requires the packaging to protect itself considered above factors. Recently, RFID is diversely employed to effectively manage construction materials and the RFID packaging, which is robust to the external impact, is required to attach RFID on construction materials. In this paper, we propose the construction material RFID packaging designed to be robust for the external impact and to be practicable for change of the broken RFID. For the change of RFID, we separate the cast and body of the packaging. Also, we present the detail drawing for the proposed construction material RFID packaging and implement the performance evaluation of the packaging manufactured using 3D printer.

  • Remote user authentication is a method, in which remote server verifies the legitimacy of a user over an common communication channel. Currently, smart card based remote user authentication schemes have been widely adopted due to their low computational cost and convenient portability for the mutual authentication. 2009 years, Wang et al.'s proposed a dynamic ID-based remote user authentication schemes using smart cards. They presented that their scheme preserves anonymity of user, has the feature of storing password chosen by the server, and protected from several attacks. However, in this paper, I point out that Wang et al.'s scheme has practical vulnerability. I found that their scheme does not provide anonymity of a user during authentication. In addition, the user does not have the right to choose a password. And his scheme is vulnerable to limited replay attacks. In particular, the parameter y to be delivered to the user is ambiguous. To overcome these security faults, I propose an enhanced authentication scheme, which covers all the identified weakness of Wang et al.'s scheme and an efficient user authentication scheme that preserve perfect anonymity to both the outsider and remote server.

  • With the development of the Internet, user authentication technology that proves me online is improving. Existing ID methods pose a threat of personal information leakage if the service provider manages personal information and security is weak, and the information subject is to the service provider. In this study, as online identification technology develops, we propose a DID-based self-authentication model to prevent the threat of leakage of personal information from a centralized format and strengthen sovereignty. The proposed model allows users to directly manage personal information and strengthen their sovereignty over information topics through VC issued by the issuing agency. As a research method, a self-authentication model that guarantees security and integrity is presented using a decentralized identifier method based on distributed ledger technology, and the security of the attack method is analyzed. Because it authenticates through DID Auth using public key encryption algorithms, it is safe from sniffing, man in the middle attack, and the proposed model can replace real identity card.

  • Station transfers for smart card based railway networks refer to transfer pedestrian movements that occur at the origin and destination nodes rather than at a middle station. To calculate the optimum path for the railway network, a penalty for transfer pedestrian movement must be included in addition to the cost of within-car transit time. However, the existing link label-based path searching method is constructed so that the station transfer penalty between two links is detected. As such, station transfer penalties that appear at the origin and destination stations are not adequately reflected, limiting the effectiveness of the model. A ghost node may be introduced to expand the network, to make up for the station transfer penalty, but has a pitfall in that the link label-based path algorithm will not hold up effectively. This research proposes an optimal path search algorithm to reflect station transfer penalties without resorting to enlargement of the existing network. To achieve this, a method for applying a directline transfer penalty by comparing Ticket Gate ID and the line of the link is proposed.

  • In this paper, we analyze the authentication protocol for DRM proposed by Hussain et al. in 2022, and present an improved solution. Hussain et al. argued that their authentication protocol guarantees man-in-the-middle attack, replay attacks, and mutual authentication. However, as a result of analyzing Hussain et al.'s authentication protocol in this paper, Hussain et al.'s authentication protocol still has an insider attack problem, a problem with Yu et al.'s authentication protocol that they pointed out. For this reason, when an inside attacker acquires information on a mobile device, a user impersonation attack was also possible. In addition, there were problems with the user's lack of ID format verification and the problem of the secret key mismatch of the digital contents between the server and the user. Therefore, this paper proposes an improved solution to solve these problems. As a result of analysis in this paper, the improved solution is safe from various attacks such as smart card attack, insider attack, and password guessing attack and can safely authenticate users of DRM.

  • This paper proposes a method, which recognizes student's identification card by using image processing and recognition technology and can manage student information on the web. The presented scheme sets up an average brightness as a threshold, based on the brightest Pixel and the least bright one for the source image of the ID card. It is converting to binary image, applies a horizontal histogram, and extracts student number through its location. And, it removes the noise of the student number region by the mode smoothing with 3$\times$3 mask. After removing noise from the student number region, each number is extracted using vertical histogram and normalized. Using the enhanced ART1 algorithm recognized the extracted student number region. In this study, we propose the enhanced ART1 algorithm different from the conventional ART1 algorithm by the dynamical establishment of the vigilance parameter. which shows a tolerance limit of unbalance between voluntary and stored patterns for clustering. The Experiment results showed that the recognition rate of the proposed ART1 algorithm was improved much more than that of the conventional ART1 algorithm. So, we develop an educational matters administration system by using the proposed recognition method of the student's identification card.

  • We introduce a new satellite Conditional Access System(CAS) that a subscriber could watch a pay-TV knowing only his or her identity and password, without using a smart card. For this new system, two password-based protocols are presented which not only share a session key and authenticate each other but also download an authorization key. This system has some merits: First, compared with current systems, it reduces the amount of computations by eliminating the AK-encryption module in SMS(Subscriber Management System) and simplifying the receiver's CW-decryption process. Second, since this system does not need an expensive Card Adaptive Device(CAD), it can reduce costs. finally it provides descrambler independence allowing it to be used through any TV set-top box that includes a descrambler, unlike the current system that a descrambler is linked with a smart card.

  • Due to the increasing use of Internet and spread of ubiquitous environment the security of private information became an important issue. For this reason, many suggestions have been made in order to protect the privacy of users. In the study of authentication system using a smart card which is one of the methods for protecting private information, the main idea is to offer user anonymity. In 2004, Das et al. suggested an authentication system that guarantees anonymity by using a dynamic ID for the first time. However, this scheme couldn't guarantee complete anonymity as the identity of the user became revealed at log-in phase. In 2005, Chien at al. suggested a authentication system that guarantees anonymity, but this was only safe to the outsider(attacker). In this paper, we propose a scheme that enables the mutual authentication between the user and the sewer by using a smart card. For the protection of the user privacy, we suggest an efficient user authentication system that guarantees perfect anonymity to both the outsider and remote server.

  • Until now, Side Channel Attack has been known to be effective to crack decrypt key such as smart cards, electronic passports and e-ID card based on Chip. Combination of Masking and shuffling methods have been proposed practical countermeasure. Newly, S.Tillich suggests biased-mask using template attack(TA) to attack AES with masking and shuffling. However, an additional assumption that is acquired template information previously for masking value is necessary in order to apply this method. Moreover, this method needs to know exact time position of the target masking value for higher probability of success. In this paper, we suggest new practical method called Biasing Power Analysis(BPA) to find a secret key of AES based on masking-shuffling method. In BPA, we don't use time position and template information from masking value. Actually, we do experimental works of BPA attack to 128bit secret key of AES based on masking-shuffling method performed MSP430 Chip and we succeed in finding whole secret key. The results of this study will be utilized for next-generation ID cards to verify physical safety.
