In web environment, we accept most of useful information visually. Icon is a channel through which we explore information, and we need icon design to deliver information clearly and quickly to users who accept information visually. Studies on icon have been carried out vigorously according to system environment, styles and characteristics of users. This study is on the metaphor icon, and judging from the characteristics of metaphor icon, it is by the phenomena of user's association of ideas. Divide metaphor and simile and analyzed metaphor icon that is searched in World Wide Web to distinguish similarity in metaphor icon special qualify, And I clarified the present condition of cognition by questionnaires asking people if they recognize the function. I also clarified if elements of icon design influence the level of user's cognition by visually comparing icons. The result of comparative analysis showed that different elements make different level of user's cognition, and to objectify it more, I made up questionnaires about elements of icon design and proved it again. To summarize the result of this study, the similarity between function and elements of design increases the level of recognition of metaphor icon proportionally. To improve user's cognition, I suggest designing with elements which materialize functions.

Since anti-forensics have been developed in order to avoid digital forensic investigation, the forensic methods for analyzing anti-forensic behaviors have been studied in various aspects. Among the factors for user activity analysis, "Iconcache.db" files, which have the icon information of applications, provides meaningful information for digital forensic investigation. This paper illustrates the features of IconCache.db files and suggests the countermeasures against anti-forensics utilizing them.

By adjusting the applied Software Method, One Physical Pallete can execute each colored Icon. Each Pallete includes Image's data and Image's Color data.Color data is composed of hex data by generating Pallette tool. This data is loaded by selecting Icon. Icon's selection is composed of current selected Icon and non-selected Icon by user. We must draw on these states to Meun's Icon.

The Far-UltraViolet (FUV) imager onboard the Ionospheric Connection Explorer (ICON) spacecraft provides two-dimensional limb images of oxygen airglow in the nightside low-latitude ionosphere that are used to determine the oxygen ion density. As yet, no FUV limb imager has been used for climatological analyses of Equatorial Plasma Bubbles (EPBs). To examine the potential of ICON/FUV for this purpose, we statistically investigate small-scale (~180 km) fluctuations of oxygen ion density in its limb images. The seasonal-longitudinal variations of the fluctuation level reasonably conform to the EPB statistics in existing literature. To further validate the ICON/FUV data quality, we also inspect climatology of the ambient (unfiltered) nightside oxygen ion density. The ambient density exhibits (1) the well-known zonal wavenumber-4 signatures in the Equatorial Ionization Anomaly (EIA) and (2) off-equatorial enhancement above the Caribbean, both of which agree with previous studies. Merits of ICON/FUV observations over other conventional data sets are discussed in this paper. Furthermore, we suggest possible directions of future work, e.g., synergy between ICON/FUV and the Global-scale Observations of the Limb and Disk (GOLD) mission.

Icon conveys symbolic information which they have become ubiquitous as main element of GUI. However, users often cannot intuitively understand its functional meanings. Icon has to be designed for users to easily understand functional meanings. In order to evaluate icon, the spreading activation model can be used to effectively understand the process of information retrieval. In asymmetric spreading activation model is that in the two nodes the degree of spreading activation is different according to direction. Thus, asymmetric spreading activation theory was performed evaluating the strength of association when users see visual image to associate their verbal meaning (visual image - verbal meaning pair) and users see verbal meaning to associate their visual image (verbal meaning - visual image pair). According to the direction, this study hypothesizes that the well-designed icons have symmetric relationship rather than asymmetric relationship between the two pairs. The strength of association is measured through the reaction time and the accuracy rate. In performing SAT (spreading activation test), the ten icons were selected as word processing software icons. After first SAT, newly designed icons were developed based on Korean mental model, and second SAT was conducted using them. The results showed that the accuracy rate of newly designed icon has been improved. Also there is significant difference of reaction time between current icons and newly designed icons. Well-designed icon is confirmed that the strength of association relationship arises symmetrically rather than asymmetrically between the two pairs. User centered icons could be designed by improving the strength of association between the two pairs. Asymmetric SAT evaluates the strength of the association between the visual image and the verbal meanings to contribute to the development of icon which it related to human's association structure.

We propose the iconic animation of the software requirement specifications by using the object and dynamic models of the object modeling technique(OMT) methodology. In order to produce the iconic animation, we use "graphical classes" and "icon transformations." In general, the graphical classes are defined for each class of the object diagram. The icon transformations which show the activities of the application are constructed by considering the meaning of the activities and are defined by either basic or compound icons. The icon transformations are added to the state diagrams to generate extended state diagrams. The animation system generates the header files and the code instantiating GUI from the object diagram having graphical classes. The system also generates "event methods" from the extended state diagrams. When the event methods are executed, the behavior of the events is animated by the icon transformations.
