In this paper, we survey recent trends of International Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) organizations such as the International Committee on GNSS (ICG), International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), International Maritime Organization (IMO), and International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and investigate their impact on the maritime and aviation sectors. Each international organization promotes international cooperation, improvement of service quality, assurance of security, compliance with international regulations, and technological innovation and development. ICG develops a variety of satellite navigation enhancement systems. ICAO establishes international aviation regulations and standards to enhance aviation safety and security. IMO establishes international shipping conventions and rules to protect and regulate the shipping environment. Lastly, ITU establishes international communication regulations and standards. Investigation of such international organizations plays an important role in increasing the efficiency and reliability of GNSS systems. Each international organization promotes international cooperation, improvement of service quality, assurance of security, compliance with international regulations, and technological innovation and development. In the future, interoperability and compatibility with new satellite navigation systems and other GNSS and satellite navigation enhancement systems must be secured, so and thus investigation of international organizations must be conducted first.

Internal combustion generation (ICG) is used to supply power to islands due to geographical characteristics, but there are some problems, such as considerable operating cost, salt pollution, and environmental pollution. For these islands, KEPCO pays a significant amount of operating deficit each year, especially for the fuel and servicing costs, which account for a large portion of this deficit. Integrated ICG (IICG) through an offshore cable between near islands is being considered to decrease servicing costs. Distributed generation (DG) is also being introduced on the islands because of the demand for a low-carbon society. In hybrid internal combustion generation (HICG), DG is introduced into IICG, which can be applied because the DG output is insufficient due to environmental characteristics, and the IICG is used as an auxiliary power source. Therefore, this paper proposes an algorithm to estimate the optimal DG capacity that can be introduced in accordance with the KEPCO operating deficit in the HICG. According to simulations, the optimal DG capacity depends on the fuel cost and load capacity. The validity of the proposed algorithm was confirmed for multiple islands with different peak loads.
Anionic small molecules are hard to penetrate the cell membranes because of their negative charges. Encapsulation of small molecules into liposome particles can provide target specific delivery of them. In our previous study, siRNA could be efficiently encapsulated into liposome particles using an asymmetric preparation method of liposomes. In this study, the same method was applied for encapsulation of small anionic fluorescent chemicals such as calcein and indocyanine green (ICG). More than 90% fluorescent chemicals were encapsulated in the asymmetric liposome particles (ALPs). No intracellular fluorescent signal was observed in the tumor cells treated with the unmodified calcein/ALPs and ICG/ALPs, whereas the surface modification with a cell-penetrating polyarginine peptide (R8 or R12) allows cellular uptake of the ALPs. The results demonstrate that the ALPs encapsulating small anionic drugs will be useful for target-specific delivery after modification of target-specific ligands.

The purpose of this study is to measurement the cardiac output using hand to hand impedance method to provide convenience to user when measuring SV(stroke volume) with the use of ICG(Impedance Cardiography). We suggest the optimized modified formula, which can be applied when using impedance with the use of hand to hand Impedance. To verify this formula, a SV from transthoracic approach and hand to hand approach are compared for the 36 subjects, respectively. The acquired data was analyzed by using LabVIEW 8.6, analysis was implemented by SPSS 12.0. Fine difference was shown by individual. We showed that as a result of analyzing the ICG measurement value on thoracic and hand to hand, the correlation with SV was r=0.716, thereby having indicated the results of regression model in relatively high correlation.
The correlation coefficients among hepatic extraction fraction(HEF), DISIDA-K, and ICG Rmax methods were found using two normal rabbits and four rabbits with damaged liver. The correlation coefficient between HEF and ICG R-max which is a standard technique in evaluating liver function was found to be 0.93. Therefore HEF is a valuable diagnostic method since it is not only accurate, but possible to estimate remaining liver function after surgical of cancerous hepatic tissue.
Background Intraoperative indocyanine green (ICG) lymphography can effectively detect functioning lymph vessels in edematous limbs. However, it is sometimes difficult to clearly identify their course in later-stage edematous limbs. For this reason, many surgeons rely on experience when they decide where to make the skin incision to locate the lymphatic vessels. The purpose of this study was to elucidate lymphatic vessel flow patterns in healthy upper extremities in a Korean population and to use these findings as a reference for lymphedema treatment. Methods ICG fluorescence lymphography was performed by injecting 1 mL of ICG into the second web space of the hand. After 4 hours, fluorescence images of lymphatic vessels were obtained with a near-infrared camera, and the lymphatic vessels were marked. Three landmarks were designated: the radial styloid process, the mid-portion of the cubital fossa, and the lower border of the deltopectoral groove. A straight line connecting the points was drawn, and the distance between the connected lines and the marked lymphatic vessels was measured at 8 points. Results There were 30 healthy upper extremities (15 right and 15 left). The average course of the main lymph vessels passed $26.0{\pm}11.6mm$ dorsal to the styloid process, $5.7{\pm}40.7mm$ medial to the mid-cubital fossa, and $31.3{\pm}26.1mm$ medial to the three-quarters point of the upper landmark line. Conclusions The main functioning lymphatic vessel follows the course of the cephalic vein at the forearm level, crosses the mid-cubital point, and travels medially toward the mid-axilla.

In the characteristic of the brain malignant, the blood vessels and tumors have the same color and shape, and the boundary distinction is not clear, Therefore, it is difficult to observe the naked eye. Because of the high invasiveness, the risk of recurrence is high. Therefore, complete resection of the tumor is essential. The method for distinguishing the boundary between blood vessels and tumors is a fluorescence contrast method using indocyanine green (ICG), a fluorescence contrast agent. In ICG, the concentration range analysis is very important because the fluorescence expression state varies depending on the concentration. However, since the analysis result of the fluorescence expression condition is insufficient according to the current concentration, this paper proposes by analyzing the initial protocol of the concentration range. 780 nm infrared light was irradiated to the ICG sample to observe the fluorescence expression through a near infrared (NIR) camera. The wavelength is measured by using a spectrum instrument (ocean view) to observe the fluorescence expression wavelength of 811nm. As a result of analyzing the mol concentration according to each sample, the fluorescence expression range was found to be 16.15-0.16M and the optimum fluorescence concentration on the brightest part was found to be 3.23-0.81M.
A one-step simultaneous immunchromatographic (OS-ICG) assay using colloidal gold-monoclonal antibody (gold-MAb) conjugates was developed for the rapid multianalysis of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) and ochratoxin A (OTA) in feed samples. Visual detection limits for AFB1 and OTA were 0.5 and 2.5 ng/mL, respectively, and the results were obtained within 15 min. Matrix interference from the feed extracts was efficiently reduced by appropriate dilution with buffer. Cut-off values of the OS-ICG assay for the feed spiked with AFB1/OTA mixtures (5/5, 10/10, 25/25, 50/55, 100/100 ${\mu}g/kg$) were 10 and 50 ${\mu}g/kg$ for AFB1 and OTA. The comparative analyses of 65 feed samples by OS-ICG, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) showed good agreement. In this study, we confirmed that simultaneous analysis based on immunoassay is possible and it can be used as an on-site multianalysis of AFB1 and OTA in feed, food, and agricultural products.
Background Lymphaticovenular anastomosis (LVA) is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to treat lymphedema. Volumetric measurements and quality-of-life assessments are often performed to assess the effectiveness of LVA, but there is no method that provides information regarding postoperative morphological changes in lymphatic vessels and veins after LVA. Photoacoustic lymphangiography (PAL) is an optical imaging technique that visualizes the distribution of light-absorbing molecules, such as hemoglobin or indocyanine green (ICG), and provides three-dimensional images of superficial lymphatic vessels and the venous system simultaneously. In this study, we performed PAL in lymphedema patients before and after LVA and compared the images to evaluate the effect of LVA. Methods PAL was performed using the PAI-05 system in three patients (one man, two women) with lymphedema, including one primary case and two secondary cases, before LVA. ICG fluorescence lymphography was performed in all cases before PAL. Follow-up PAL was performed between 5 days and 5 months after LVA. Results PAL enabled the simultaneous visualization of clear lymphatic vessels that could not be accurately seen with ICG fluorescence lymphography and veins. We were also able to observe and analyze morphological changes such as the width and the number of lymphatic vessels and veins during the follow-up PAL after LVA. Conclusions By comparing preoperative and postoperative PAL images, it was possible to analyze the morphological changes in lymphatic vessels and veins that occurred after LVA. Our study suggests that PAL would be useful when assessing the effect of LVA surgery.
Objective : The extensive vasa vasorum network functions as a conduit for the entry of inflammatory cells or factors that promote the progression of angiogenesis and plaque formation. Therefore, we investigated the correlation between the carotid vasa vasorum activities and carotid plaque vulnerability using indocyanine green video angiography (ICG-VA) during carotid endarterectomy (CEA). Methods : Sixty-nine patients who underwent CEA were enrolled prospectively from September 2015 to December 2017. During CEA, a bolus of ICG was injected intravenously before and after resecting the atheroma. Additionally, we performed immunohistochemistry using CD68 (a surface marker of macrophages), CD117 (a surface marker of mast cells), and CD4 and CD8 (surface markers of T-cells) antibodies to analyze the resected plaque specimens. Results : The density of active vasa vasorum was observed in all patients using ICG-VA. The vasa vasorum externa (VVE) and interna (VVI) were seen in 11 (16%) and 57 patients (82.6%), respectively. Macroscopically, the VVE-type patterns were strongly associated with preoperative angiographic instability (81.8%, p=0.005) and carotid plaque vulnerability (90.9%, p=0.017). In contrast, the VVI-type patterns were weakly associated with angiographic instability (31.6%) and plaque vulnerability (49.1%). CD68-stained macrophages and CD117-stained mast cells were observed more frequently in unstable plaques than in stable plaques (p<0.0001, p=0.002, respectively). Conclusion : The early appearance of VVE, along with the presence of many microvessel channels that provided nutrients to the developing and expanding atheroma during ICG-VA, was strongly associated with unstable carotid plaques. The degree of infiltration of macrophages and mast cells is possibly related to the formation of unstable plaques.
