Investigation of Side Channel Analysis Attacks on Financial IC Cards (금융IC카드에 대한 부채널분석공격 취약성 분석)

  • The development of next-generation resident registration cards, financial IC cards and administrative agency IC cards based on a smart card is currently coming out in Korea. However, the low-price IC cards without countermeasures against side channel analysis attacks are expected to be used fer cost reduction. This paper has investigated the side channel resistance of financial IC cards that are currently in use and have performed DPA attacks on the financial IC cards. We have been able to perform successful DPA attacks on these cards by using only 100 power measurement traces. From our experiment results, we have been able to extract the master key used for encryption of a count PIN number.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest IC concepts and some basic ideas of construction of public library's application model based of NDL IC Model. In order to successful introduction and construction of IC in public library, it should be preceded that some ideas of IC space concepts and constructual direction, physical space and facilities plan and gradual progress that introduce to the IC concepts.

Study on the Application of the Concept of Information Commons in School Libraries (학교도서관의 Information Commons 도입에 관한 연구)

  • This study focuses on how to introduce the concept of Information Commons(IC) into school libraries in order to help them Perform their roles required to satisfy new types of their users' demands. It intends to examine the concept of IC to draw the IC elements applicable to school libraries and propose a feasible model for them. The main objects of this study are school libraries and Information Commons. In particular, this study brings the derivation of IC elements and the construction of an IC model for school libraries into focus. This study sorted the three factors by peculiarities of school libraries. Each classification is as follows: physical elements were divided into learning space, creation space, community space, and service counters; human resources were divided into teacher-librarian. IT engineers, and student assistants; and services were divided into information literacy training and integrated, collaborative services. Based upon the derived IC constituents, it proposed a diagram that outlines the IC services concept for school libraries, an IC model and an IC floor plan for them.

  • Recently 'Banking IC Card Standard' and EMV Standard by the domestic standard is selected, and it is situation that is developing infrastructure vigorously to alternate Magnetic Stripe card by IC card. This paper analyzes EMV standard that is selecting public key cipher, and research wishes to study unexhausted EMV PKI relatively than internet PKI, WAP PKI etc. This paper propose utilizable EMV base Payment PKI model in IC card base payment system development, and developed EMV CA system with this. Also, this paper supplemented IC card Authentication mechanism that is defined in EMV standard, and propose 'Efficient smart card Authentication mechanism' to improve performance of this mechanism, and estimate performance.

Effects of maximum speed limit on Gyeongbu Expressway (경부고속도로 최고제한속도 상향에 따른 교통사고 영향 분석)

  • In September 2010, the Korea government increased the speed limit on the Gyeongbu Expressway (Cheonan IC.-Yangjae IC) from 100 to 110 km per hour. This paper considers ARIMA-Intervention model to analyze the effects of the speed limit change on the incidences of traffic accidents and injuries. In addition, in order to investigate the effects more clearly, we also analyze the difference between the two lines of Cheonan IC-Yangjae IC and Busan IC-Cheonan IC. As a result, we observe that the numbers of accidents and injuries have increased after the speed limit change. The increases are strikingly distinctive in comparison to other lines (Busan IC-Cheonan IC) where there have been no changes in the maximum speed limit.

  • IC는 수많은 전자부품중에서 가장 기본적인 부품으로서 현재 산업사회에서는 필수 불가결한 존재로 부각되어 있다. IC의 집적도는 SSI로부터 MSI, LSI를 거쳐 현재에는 VLSI의 단계가 실용화 되고 있으며 IC가 새로운 기기의 기능을 주도하고, 전기전자 공업의 발전에 원동력이 되고 있다는 것은 이미 기정 사실로 되고 있다. 최근 IC는 "산업의 핵" 또는 "산업의 공기"라고 불리울 만큼 그 역할 또한 큰 비중을 차지하면서 전 산업분야에서 폭넓게 사용되고 있으며 IC는 그 자체가 고도성장산업분야에 속해 있지만 IC가 산업의 미래상과 같이 중요성을 가졌기 때문에 최근에는 우리나라의 럭키금성, 현대, 삼성 및 대우그룹을 비롯하여 세계규모의 기업간 경쟁이 강화되어 가고 있다. IC시장은 1980년대의 전반기를 통하여 IC기술이 급속한 진보에 의해 다이나믹한 전개를 이룩한 것으로 볼수 있지만, IC시장의 장래를 전망하는 경우 세계적인 시점으로 보는 것은 매우 중요한 것이라 생각된다. 따라서 본 해설에 있어서는 서방자유세계를 중심으로 IC의 수급, 제품종별의 시장및 지역별 시장등에 관하여 1985년까지의 동향을 살펴보고 1980년대 전반기의 IC시장에 관한 흐름을 고찰하여 1980년대 후반기의 시장 및 기술개발의 전망에 관하여 기술하고자 한다.발의 전망에 관하여 기술하고자 한다.

  • LED를 구동하기 위하여 여러 가지 주변회로를 하나의 IC로 통합한 Driver IC는 최근 LED의 효율의 증가와 더불어 다양한 사용처의 발생으로 인하여 그 종류가 다양해졌다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 다양한 Driver IC들의 특성을 평가하기 위한 방법 및 다양한 Application의 적용을 통한 Driver IC의 성능을 평가하였다. Driver IC의 기능성과 내구성을 판단하기 위한 시험들을 진행하였다. 여러 종류의 LED를 사용하여 Driver IC의 성능을 평가하였다. Driver IC에 원하는 동작을 구현하고자 하는 제어회로 부분도 설계하여 다양한 특성들을 분석할 수 있도록 하였다. 3종류의 응용제품을 구현하여 적용의 사례로 검토하였고 각각의 응용제품의 경우 필요한 기능들에 대한 분석도 실시하였다. 전체적으로 반도체 IC 시험규격에 의한 신뢰성 시험도 일부 실시를 하여 신뢰성에 대한 부분도 평가를 진행하였다. 이를 통하여 Driver IC의 필요요소에 대한 부분들을 결정하였다.

Evaluation of Fracture Toughness for Steel Fiber Reinforced High Strength Concrete by Non-linear Fracture Mechanics Parameter(J-integral) (비선형 파괴역학 파라메터(J-적분)에 의한 강섬유보강 고강도콘크리트의 파괴인성 평가)

  • This paper describes the use of the J-integral, a one parameter of the non-linear fracture mechanics(NLFM), as a means to measure toughness of steel fiber reinforced concrete. This parameter can be conveniently evaluated from experimentally determined load-deflection curves from flexural tests when a maximum-load failure criterion is employed. And, for high strength concrete which was reinforced steel fiber, with two different fiber length in the form of notched beams, were tested under 3-point bending, and $J_{IC}$, as well as the linear elastic fracture mechanics(LEFM) parameters $K_{IC}$ and $G_{IC}$ were evaluated. The results suggest that $J_{IC}$ is a promising fracture criterion for all of these. while $K_{IC}$(or $G_{IC}$) almost certainly are not. Also it was found that a fiber addition of less than 0.5% did not improve the fracture toughness of the high strength concrete. However, at more than 1.0% in fiber contents, $J_{IC}$ showed significant increases. reflecting the changed character of the concrete; $K_{IC}$ and $G_{IC}$ did not.

A System IC for Controlling the Fire Prevention (화재방지제어 시스템 IC)

  • In this study, we have developed one chip system IC for preventing the overload, detecting an abnormal conditions, and controlling the fire prevention in the intelligent home appliances. For the purpose, a circuit detectable an electric leak for preventing an electric shock, and a circuit detectable arc that has effect directly on the fire are designed. The circuits designed on every block are verified by comparing simulation with bread-boarding using a standard transistors. The system IC is fabricated by using 34 V 2 metal $1.5{\mu}m$ bipolar transistor process from evaluation results. The electrical performances of IC application circuits and the system IC equipped on PCB board are evaluated. It is confirmed that the system IC is well operated for arc and ground fault(GF) signal.

  • IC 카드의 하드웨어적인 제약으로 대부분의 IC 카드는 대칭키 알고리즘을 사용하고 있지만 IC 카드 하드웨어 제조 기술의 발전으로 앞으로는 보안성이 우수한 비대 칭키 알고리즘이 많이 사용될 것이다. 그리고 IC 카드의 가장 큰 제약적 중 하나는 메모리 용량의 한계이다. 따라서 보안상 안전하면서도 메모리를 적게 사용하는 IC 카드 운영체제의 구현을 중요한 문제이다. 그래서 본 논문에서는 다양한 종류의 키 알고리즘을 수용할 수 있는 키 파일 탐색 기법을 제안하였다. 또한 데이터 파일 헤더에 잠금 필드를 삽입하여 보안성을 향상시켰으며 메모리 사용량을 줄일 수 있도록 데이터 파일 헤더만을 이용한 파일 탐색 기법과 자유 공간 탐색 기법을 제안하였다. Because of the evolution of IC card hardware fabrication technologies IC card will be able to accept asymmetric key encryption algorithm in the future. One of the most restrictive points of IC card is memory capacity. Therefore it is an important problem to design a secure IC card operating system using memory in small. In this paper we proposed a key file search mechanism using a key length field inserted in a key file header structure. The key file search mechanism makes IC card execute any key-based encryption algorithm. In addition we proposed inserting a lock field in data file header structure. The lock field intensifies the security of a data file. Finally we proposed a data file search mechanism and free space search mechanism using only data file header. The file system using these mechanisms spends smaller memory than that using a file description table and record of unallocated space.
