  • The performance of fuel cell electrode depends on the characteristics of the catalyst support material. This paper deals with the use of CNF(carbon nanofibre) and CNT(carbon nanotube) as platinum catalyst support. The CNF and CNT were synthesized with catalyst treated by mechanochemical process and were prepared by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method. The platinum supported on CNF and CNT for polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) application. In result, the best I-V characteristic was verified by the prepared MEA(membrane electrode assembly) from twisted CNF that had a diameter of 65 nm.

  • The origin of image-slicking in metal-insulator-metal type thin-film-diode(TFD) LCDs is the asymmetric current-voltage(I-V) characteristic of TFD element. we developed that MIM-LCDs have reduced-image-sticking and perfect symmetry characteristic. One-Time Post-Annealing (OPTA) heat treatment process was introduced to reduce the asymmetry and shift of the I-V characteristics, respectively. OPTA means that the whole layers of lower metal, insulator, and uuper metal are annealed at one time. The treatment temperatures and fabricated process of TFD element were under foot. Also, this low temperature fabricated process allows the application of plastic substrates.

  • Let G be a finite simple connected graph with vertex set V(G) and edge set E(G). Let A(G) be the adjacency matrix of G. The characteristic polynomial of G is the characteristic polynomial $\Phi(G;\lambda) = det(\lambda I - A(G))$ of A(G). A zero of $\Phi(G;\lambda)$ is called an eigenvalue of G.

  • Recently, research on renewable energy technologies has come into the spotlight due to rising concerns over the depletion of fossil fuels and greenhouse gas emissions. Demand for portable electronic and wearable devices is increasing, and electronic devices are becoming smaller. Energy harvesting is a technology for overcoming limitations such as battery size and usage time. In this paper, the V-I characteristic curve and internal resistance of thermal electric devices were analyzed, and MPPT control methods were compared. The Perturbation and Observation (P&O) control method is economically inefficient because two sensors are required to measure the voltage and current of a Thermoelectric Generator(TEG). Therefore, this paper proposes a new MPPT control method that tracks MPP using only one sensor for the regulation of the output voltage. The proposed MPPT control method uses the relationship between the output voltage of the load and the duty ratio. Control is done by periodically sampling the output voltage of the DC-DC converter to increase or decrease the duty ratio to find the optimal duty ratio and maintain the MPP. A DC-DC converter was designed using a cascaded boost-buck converter, which has a two-switch topology. The proposed MPPT control method was verified by simulations using PSIM, and the results show that a voltage, current, and power of V=4.2 V, I=2.5 A, and P=10.5 W were obtained at the MPP from the V-I characteristic curve of the TEG.

  • PV power generation, which directly converts solar radiation into electricity, contains numerous significant advantages. It is inexhaustible and pollution-free, silent, contains no rotating parts, and has size-independent electricity conversion efficiency. The positive environmental effect of photovoltaics is that it replaces the more polluting methods of electricity generation or that it provides electricity where none was available before. This paper highlights a novel simple method to abstract the entire parameters of the solar cell. In development, design and operation of PV power generation systems, a technique for constructing V-I curves under different levels of solar irradiance and cell temperature conditions using basic characteristic values of the PV module is required. Everyone who has performed manual acquisition and analysis of solar cell I versus V data would agree that the job is tedious and time-consuming. A better alternative is to use an automated curve tracer to print out the I versus V curves and compute the four major parameters; $V_{oc}$, $I_{sc}$, FF, and . Generally, the V-I curve tracer indicates only the commonly used solar cell parameters. However, with the conventional V-I curve tracer it is almost impossible to abstract the more detailed parameters of the solar cell; A, $R_{s}$ and $R_{sh}$ , which satisfies the user, who aims at the analysis of the development of the PV power generation system, that being advanced simulation. In this paper, the proposed method provides us with satisfactory results to enable us to abstract the detailed parameters of the solar cell; A, $R_s$ and $R_{sh}$.>.

  • The design of superconducting magnets for a 600 kJ SEMS was discussed. The basic constraint conditions in the design of a 600 kJ SMES magnet were V-I loss(<1 W), inductance of magnet(<24 H), the number of Double Pancake Coils(DPC about 10), the number of turns of DPC(<300), outer diameter of DPC(close to 800 mm) and total length of HTS wire in a DPC(<500 m). As a result of optimum design, we obtained design parameters of the 600 kJ SMES magnet with two operating currents, 360 A and 370 A, which are in the limited conditions without V-I loss. V-I loss of each operating current was calculated with design parameters and V-I characteristic of the HTS wire. As a result of calculations, V-I losses with operating currents of 360 A and 370 A were 0.6 W and 1.86 W, respectively. Even though all design parameters of the SMES magnet in case of operating current of 360 A were in the restricted conditions, V-I loss of SMES magnet showed a tendency to generate at local DPCs, which are located on the top and the bottom of the SMES magnet more than that of the other DPCs.

  • The esterase isozyme in tissue of wild legume plants were separated by horizontal starch gel electrophoresis. Extracts used in this study were prepared from fully expanded young leaf, cotyledon and radicle of seedling and root-nodule of Glycine sola, Vigna vexillata var. tsuscmensis and Trifoliwn repens. The results are as follows; 1. Each tissue examined had a characteristic banding pattcrn. Number of bands in each species, G. soja, V. vexillata, and T . repens, were 14, 8 and 1 1 bands, respectively. And difference in esterase isozyme bands were greater from tissue to tissue than difference between habitat. 2. Est-I, Est-2. Est-3 and Est-4 in G. soja, Est-I in V. vexillata and Est-l and Est-2 in T. repens showed strong cnzyme activity than other enzyme. 3. Esterase isozyme variation in G. soja and T . repens showed more variety than V. vexillata. This is resulted from many genotypic differences within species. 4. The main enLyme among thc esterase isozyme were Est-I. Est-2, Est-3 and Est-4.

  • In this article, we constructively prove that on a surface S with genus g$\geq$2, there exit maximal geodesic laminations with 7g-7,...,9g-9 leaves. Thus, S can have ideal cell-decompositions (i.e., S can be (ideally) triangulated by maximal geodesic laminations) with 7g-7,...,9g-9 (ideal) 1-cells. Once there is a triangulation for a compact surface, the Euler characteristic for the surface can be calculated as the alternating sum F-E+V, where F, E, and V denote the number of faces, edges, and vertices, respectively. We also prove that the same formula holds for the ideal cell decompositions.

  • This paper provides the result of analysis of the structure and I-V characteristics of D.C. 1500 V surge arresters which were installed in railway line currently. As Porcelain housed surge arresters have unstable elements such as exploding and dispersion, so it is thought that the system is protected more stably with replacement of polymer housing. The adoption of gap mitigates the voltage stress which is degradation factor of surge arresters and the research is needed to enhance the life characteristic in additive and manufacturing process. Therefore, it is thought that the research should be continued to develop homemade the surge arresters for D.C. railway line as well as transmission line.

  • In this paper, tunable transconductor shows good linearity over a wide input voltage range are proposed. The proposed transconductor employ operating in the nonsaturation(ie., linear) region to improve circuit simplicity and tunability and 6.8V$\_$p-p/ wide input range. Also the circuit employ source-coupled differential pair to provide true differential input and can achieve both positive and negative transconductance values. The proposed circuits are implemented using a 1.2 $\mu\textrm{m}$ single poly double metal n-well CMOS technology. The THD characteristic of proposed circuit is less than 1% for a differential input voltage of up to 6V$\^$p-p/ when supply bias condition is V$\_$DD/=-V$\_$ss/=5V, I$\_$B/=20, 40${\mu}$A, and frequency of input signal is 1KHz.
