인터넷 기반 스마트 화초 관리 시스템 (Smart Plants Management System based on Internet)

  • 요즈음, 온도 및 습도, 조도 센서를 이용하여서, 식물 재배 환경 정보를 자동으로 수집하고 생장환경을 관리하는 지능형 온실 시스템이 많이 연구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 조도, 온도 및 습도를 예측해서 인터넷 기반에서, 식물 재배의 최적 환경 조건을 추론하는 모의실험을 하였다. IOT 환경에서, 식물 재배 조건을 온도, 습도, 조도를 아두이노 센서에 실시간으로 온실 관리자에게 전송해서, 식물 재배에 필요한 최적의 온도, 습도 조건 값보다 크거나 적으면 자동으로 SMS 경고 문자를 실시간으로 전송해 주기 때문에, 급격한 기후 변화 (눈,비, 폭염)조건일 경우라도 최적의 화초 재배조건을 관리 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 퍼지논리와 WEKA TOOL을 이용하여서, 같은 온대 식물이라도, 그 지역에 필요한 최적의 온도, 습도, 조도(일사량) 수치를 산출하는 모의실험을 하였다.

고위험 신생아 무호흡 응급관리 시뮬레이션 시나리오 평가 (Evaluation of Algorithm-Based Simulation Scenario for Emergency Measures with High-Risk Newborns Presenting with Apnea)

  • Purpose: This study was done to develop and evaluate an algorithm-based simulation scenario for emergency measures for high-risk newborns presenting with apnea. Methods: A one shot case study design was used to evaluate the algorithm-based simulation scenario. Effects of the developed simulation scenario were evaluated using the Simulation Effectiveness Tool (SET) and the Lasater Clinical Judgement Rubric (LCJR). From March to November 137 senior nursing students completed the simulation using this scenario. Results: The eight-frame simulation scenario was developed based on the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and the nursing clinical judgment process. After use of the scenario, overall scores for SET and LCJR were 21.0 out of 26.0 and 32.4 out of 44.0 respectively. There were no significant differences in scores according to general characteristics. Positive correlation coefficients were identified among overall and subcategories of SET and LCJR. In addition, students provided positive feedback on the simulation experience. Conclusion: Considering that nursing students have limited access to high-risk newborns during their clinical experience and that newborns presenting apnea are common in the neonatal intensive care unit, the simulation scenario developed in this study is expected to provide nursing students with more opportunities to practice emergency measures for high-risk newborns.

Cross-generational Change of /o/ and /u/ in Seoul Korean II: Spectral Interactions in Normalized Vowel Space

  • This is a follow-up study on Han and Kang (2013) which argued that the Euclidean distances between /o/ and /u/ in Seoul Korean decreased in the first syllable position as speakers were among younger female speakers but not for male speakers, whereas in the second syllable position both gender groups showed a cross-generational decreasing effect of the Euclidean distance between /o/ and /u/. This study normalized the same data in Han and Kang (2013) which measured 12 speakers (six males and six females) for each Age group and investigated the spectral changes vowels /o/ and /u/ between age and gender, using the log-mean normalized statistical results. This study also examined overlap fraction values generated in SOAM 2D ($F1{\times}F2$) (cf. Wassink, 2006), which may also indicate the proximity of two vowels in question. The results showed that /o/ and /u/ vowels were making closer with /o/ raising for female speakers in $V_1$ and $V_2$ positions but only in the $V_2$ position for male speakers. That is, females led the upward movement of peripheral /o/ vowel, just like the raising of 'e' and 'o' in New York City (Labov, 1991). The results also showed that younger speakers used a rather narrow vowel space for the vowels. This also contributed to the proximity of the vowels /o/ and /u/, resulting in rather large overlap fraction values for younger speakers between these two vowels.

  • 광부품 제작 및 조립 과정을 고려하여 완성된 광학계의 성능을 최적화하는 공차분석 방법을 제안하고 이를 적외선 광각 광학계에 적용하여 그 유용성을 확인하였다. 이 방법은 광학계에서 나오는 파면 오차를 쩨르니케 다항식으로 전개하고, 전개 계수인 쩨르니케 계수가 광부품 및 조립정렬 변수에 대해 변화하는 정도를 나타내는 민감도를 분석한다. 이 민감도를 바탕으로 광부품 제작 공차를 최적값으로 정하고 최선의 조립정렬 보상자를 고른다. 이 방법은 광부품의 제작 및 조립정렬 공차를 최적값으로 잡고, 또 그러한 공차에 의한 성능저하를 예측하고, 대비하므로 실제로 완성될 광학계의 성능을 최상으로 높일 수 있고, 또 정확하게 예측할 수 있다.

Antibacterial Effect of Crude Extracts of Kaempferia parviflora (Krachaidam) against Cronobacter spp. and Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) in Various Dairy Foods: A Preliminary Study

  • Rhizomes of Kaempferia parviflora (Zingiberaceae) have been used in traditional Thai medicine for health promotion. In this study, the antibacterial activity of ethanol extract of K. parviflora against Cronobacter spp. and enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) was investigated using paper disc dilution method. The results revealed that the ethanol extract exhibited antibacterial activity against Cronobacter spp. and EHEC. With an increasing concentration of K. parviflora ethanol extract, larger zones of inhibition of Cronobacter spp. and EHEC strains tested were observed. Therefore, its antibacterial activity suggested that K. parviflora could be used as a natural additive to ascertain food safety of various dairy products.

Stimulating the Growth of Kefir-isolated Lactic Acid Bacteria using Addition of Crude Flaxseed (Linum usitatissimum L.) Extract

  • Linum usitatissimum L. (flaxseed) is emerging as an important functional food ingredient because of its rich contents, namely, ${\alpha}$-linolenic acid (ALA, omega-3 fatty acid), lignans, and fiber, which are potentially beneficial for human health. Furthermore, flax or flaxseed oil has also been incorporated as a functional food ingredient into various foods such as milk, dairy products, and meat products. Flaxseed is known to possess antimicrobial activity in vitro and in vivo, but its growth-stimulating effect on lactic acid bacteria is not clear. Hence, the objective of this study was to determine whether crude flaxseed extract stimulated the growth kefir-isolated lactic acid bacteria in vitro. The result of this study showed that Lactobacillus kefiranofaciens DN1, Lactobacillus brevis KCTC3102, Lactobacillus bulgaricus KCTC3635, and Lactobacillus plantarum KCTC3105 treated with $100{\mu}L$ of crude flaxseed extract showed significantly higher growth than the control treated with $100{\mu}L$ of water (p<0.05). Based on the results of this study, crude flaxseed extract could be used as a growth stimulator for lactic acid bacteria in various food applications, including production of milk and dairy products.

Fructose Contents of Various Popular Sweetened Beverages based on Milk Using by HPLC

  • The global consumption of fructose in the form of high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) has increased considerably over the past several decades. The current intake of HFCS exceeds that of other major caloric sweeteners such as sucrose. Fructose has potentially adverse effects on human metabolism. Therefore, the objective of this study was to analyze the monosaccharide contents of 13 sweetened milk-based beverages by using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The total monosaccharide (fructose and glucose) contents of various sweetened milk-based beverages ranged from 0.60 g/100 mL (cheese) to 26.03 g/100 mL (maple caramel snack), while milk showed only 0 g/100 mL monosaccharides. The fructose-to-glucose ratio of various popular sweetened milk-based beverages ranged from not-detected (ND) to 2.24 g/100 mL, but the content of glucose was higher than that of fructose in only three samples, namely, strawberry flavored milk, shrimp chips, and maple caramel snack. The analyzed results revealed important basic information about monosaccharides in various milk-based sweetened beverages, presenting ideas for future fructose research.

한국 남자 군인 현 방한복의 치수, 동작적합성 만족도에 관한 연구 (Satisfaction on Fitness and Motion Suitability of Korean male Military Winter Jacket)

  • This study investigates the problems of fitness and motion suitability for Korean male military winter jackets (inner and outer) and provides data for new pattern development. We analyzed fitness and motion suitability by a questionnaire survey with 140 Korean male soldiers and a wearing evaluation with 7 subjects of central army male size. A survey of male soldiers indicated that the fitness and motion suitability satisfaction was over 3.0 (Likert scale) for both inner and outer jackets. There were opinions that the sleeve length was short for the inner jacket and the waist girth and hem girth was slightly large for the outer jacket. In the wearing evaluation results with subjects of central army male size, fitness of total length, sleeve length and collar height showed a score lower than 3.0 for the inner jacket and collar height on the outer jacket. The motion suitability result showed a low score (1.0-2.0) in an arm raising motion for the inner jacket and 2.0-3.0 at neck motion in the outer jacket. In conclusion, there is more dissatisfaction in inner jackets than outer jackets. For the inner jacket, sleeve is short, sleeve hem is narrow, collar height is a little high and the sleeve creeps up during arm motion. The waist girth and hem girth was slightly large and collar height was a little high for the outer jacket.

한국 성인 여성의 연령대별 체형변화에 대한 연구 (The Change Pattern of Body Shape on Chronological Age in Korea Adult Women)

  • In this study, change trends and specific times for change in body size were sought to be identified by using manual measurements for Korean adult women at 20 to 89 of age, along with examinations of change trends and specific times of change in body shape based on body index values. The examinations of means, deviations, and variation coefficients revealed that there was a tendency of most height related measures to decrease. In addition, combined with decrease in height, growth in weight led to increased BMI, thus resulting in increase in measures of circumference, thickness, and breadth in the torso area. The BMI trends showed that with increasing age, BMI increased, reaching the peak between the ages of 55 and 59 and then decreasing from 64 of age, with the steepest increase in BMI at ages from 50 to 54. The examination of differences in the body flatness ratio for different parts of body found that with increasing age the ratio decreased, indicating a tendency for gradual change to round body shapes. The analysis of 3D body shape found that there were more back-bends and lowered shoulder levels with age, accompanied with a tendency for more bended legs and more inclined-forward necks. The key trends in changes in body measurements by age and detailed estimates of 3D standard body shape drawn out from this study are expected to significantly contribute to establishing a basic database for generating patterns reflecting age features of Korean adult females.

패스트패션 리테일링에서의 비주얼머천다이징 효과 (Effect of Visual Merchandising in Fast Fashion Retailing)

  • Focusing on the communication effects of fast fashion visual merchandising (VM), this paper examines the effects of a fast fashion store's VM attributes on consumer's perceptions of store image towards newness and prestige that influence the time spent at stores as well as the frequency of visits. This study was conducted by collecting data online using males and females in their twenties to forties; subsequently, a total of 382 samples were analyzed. The VM communication effect model utilized in fast fashion stores was developed and tested on structural equation modeling. The findings of the study were as follows. First, the show window presentation and ancillary facilities of VM elements have a positive effect on the perception of newness, while merchandise display, layout, and signage have a positive influence on the perception of prestige. Therefore, the VM elements in the fast fashion stores that affect the perception of newness and prestige are unique. Second, the perceptions of newness and prestige have a positive impact on time spent in fast fashion stores; however, only the perception of store's newness has a significant effect on the frequency of visits. Third, show window presentation and facilities are VM elements that directly influence the time spent and frequency of visits. Finally, we confirm that store image partially mediate between VM elements and shopping behavior at a fast fashion store.
