Dependent variable was frequency of tooth brushing per day, use of dental floss, use of interdental brush and use of mouth rinse. Independent variable was sociodemographic factors, health behaviors, perceived health and oral health conditions. The chi-square test and logistic regression analysis were performed to identify the factors affecting the use of dental hygiene care products. All analyses were performed using PASW Statistics version 18.0. Resulting of chi-square test, the use of oral hygiene care products was statistically significant with gender, age, education level, household income, marital status, dental utilization, dental examination. Resulting of logistic regression, in female, the higher the education level was identified as common factors for variables in use of dental hygiene care products. Dental hygienist among dental professionals should play an important role as contributor to the national oral health promotion that recognizes the impact of each factor by refining dental hygiene care products and reflect personal characteristics and preferences through the oral health educational media and program development.

Results : Those having good high school GPAs (p<.05) and high preliminary test scores (p<.01) towards dental hygienist (p<.05). National license examination was the most stressful factor for 54.2% of the students. Much more stressful pressure goes to students of non-scheduled admission (p<.01), students who graduated from vocational high schools(p<.01), students with good high school GPAs (p<.05), and having high preliminary test scores(p<.05). Most of the students tended to bear the burden on national written examination with an average of 4.17. The most difficult subject was oral biology introduction (average 4.52). Oral biology introduction was more stressful to students of early admission, students graduating from vocational high schools (p<.05), students with good high school GPAs (p<.05), and students who had relatively low preliminary test scores (p<.001). Conclusions : It is crucial to reduce stress factors and to develop related programs.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors affecting robot utilization in the education of pre-dental hygienists. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 238 dental hygiene students studying in the Daejeon, Chungcheong, and Jeolla provinces during the period March 1-31, 2017. Results: Future oral health education media had high selection of 'movies,' 'video,' '3D printer,' 'robot,' and 'drone' In general education and oral health education, robots were appropriate as educators, assistant teachers, and media. This group had high levels of interest, experience, attitude, and learning scope of robots. Robot utilization education showed a significant positive correlation with the 'interest,' 'experience,' 'attitude,' and 'learning' subfactors (p<0.01). Factors influencing robot utilization education were the relationships among actual experience of robot, learning of robot production, social influence of robot, emotional exchange with robot, and the predictive power was 25.5% (p<0.05). Conclusions: Oral health education curricula using robots should be developed considering the emotional exchange and social influence between educator and learner.

Methods : This research was based on self-perceived oral malodor symptoms survey in 413 adults from March 5 to May 7, 2012. Data were analyzed with chi-square test, and stepwise multiple regression analysis using SPSS WIN 12.0 program and significance level was set at p<0.05. Results : The prevalence rate of self-perceived oral malodor symptoms was 62.7%. The most influencing factors of self-perceived oral malodor symptoms was age. The other factors were self-perception stress level, exercise, and periodontitis in the order. A multi-sample chi-square test was performed on the dietary education experience according to the general characteristics of the subjects. Logistic regression analysis was performed on factors affecting the eating habits education experience. Results: Eating breakfast and consuming fruits was more frequent among eating habits (p<0.001). Regarding factors influencing dietary habits education, in the case of eating habits education experience, sealant was 1.23 times higher (p<0.001), and tingling & throbbing were 0.93 times lower (p<0.01). Conclusions: Educating adolescents on correct eating habits is related to oral health, hence a school based oral health education program related to eating habits is necessary for adolescents.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to explore dental hygiene treatment fear and anxiety in dental patients. METHODS: The sample consisted of 466 dental patients who had received the dental hygiene treatment at 8 Dental Hospitals and Clinics in Daegu city between March and August 2006 studied. Dental hygienists recruited a questionnaire, which includes generalized anxiety sub-scale(4 items), specific fear sub-scale(5 items), distrust sub-scale(5 items), and catastrophic anxiety sub-scale(4 items). Minimum score is 1, and maximum score is 5. The research was designed to be a cross-sectional measured study. SAS statistical software was used for the analysis. The characteristics of the study sample were described by mean and standard deviation(SD) for continuous variables and by frequency and percentage for categorical variables. The Student's t-test and analysis of variance(ANOVA) were used to compare fear and anxiety score in demographic variables. A Pearson's correlation analysis was conducted for relationship among values of fear and anxiety for dental hygiene. Multiple regression analysis was performed to determine the factors associated with fear and anxiety related with dental hygiene. RESULTS: A total of 466 dental patients were analyzed, their average age${\pm}$SD was $37.7{\pm}12.9$ years(range: 15-79 yr). The mean value for dental hygiene fear and anxiety was 2.70(generalized anxiety 2.65, specific fear 2.93, distrust anxiety 2.72, and catastrophic anxiety 2.42, respectively). There was a statistically significant difference in gender(p<0.05), 2.81 for women was higher than 2.55 for men(p=.0000). The older we are, the higher fear and anxiety for dental hygiene treatment were. that is, under age of 20 years 2.49, 20 years 2.59, 30 years 2.69, 40 years 2.77, 50 years 2.88, 60 years 2.69, and over age of 70 2.45, respectively(p=.0321). Factors related to dental hygiene treatment fear and anxiety by multiple regressions were gender(${\square}$=0.18, p=0.0001), age(${\square}$=.07, p=.0058), and the time when visits dentist recently(${\square}$=.07, p=.0058). CONCLUSIONS: In conclusion, gender, age and the time when visits dentist recently were significantly associated with dental hygiene treatment fear and anxiety. We recommend that further research should investigate a dental hygiene treatment fear and anxiety by using more follow-up study.
