Objectives: This study was to report the effect of Hyeolbuchukyeo-tang(HC) on complications of post-hysterectomy. Methods: Three women who were undertaken a hysterectomy within a month were enrolled in this study. They complained of abdominal pain, lumbago, bladder pain, tinnitus, both leg pain, headache, etc. And received oriental treatments to decrease pain and improve the symptoms. They took Hyeolbuchukyeo-tang 3 times a day. Results: A hysterectomy can lead to complications. They complained of various symptoms. After the treatment, abdominal pain, bladder pain, both leg pain, headache were rapidly decreased and lumbago, tinnitus were improved too. Conclusions: These clinical cases indicated that Hyeolbuchukyeo-tang was effective in the treatment of women who undertaken a hysterectomy.

Backgrounds : Two stress pathways, the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis and the sympathetic nervous system, regulate immune system responses through release of corticosteroids, norepinephrine and epinephrine. respectively. These neuromediators act on immune cells via specific receptors on their surface to modulate the production of key regulatory cytokines. Objectives : To evaluate the preventive effects of oriental medicine Hyeolbuchukyeo-tang (HC) on stress. Methods : Mice were divided into three groups: nounal group, control group under immobilization stress and HC group which received Hyeolbuchukyeo-tang (HC) under immobilization stress. following sacrifice, their splenocytes were isolated and splenocyte surface markers were determined. The brains were removed and mRNA determined. In vivo, we separated RNA Iron cultured macrophages (RAW264.7). Results : In our study, immune functions were decreased in stress due mainly to changes of various neuromediators, cytokines and macrophage activities, and the treatment of HC increased those expressions. Conclusions : In summary, the present study documents the anti-stress effects of HC through stress-immune regulation.

Objectives : Anxiety is a symptom that many psychiatric patients experience. And in the traditional Korean medicine, anxiety is often categorized as a Gyeong Gye(驚悸) and Jung Choong(怔忡). In this case report, we will show the effective method in treatment of anxiety. Methods : First, We treated the patient with anxiety by the differential diagnosis of blood stasis(瘀血) that is summarized as stasis of blood, pollutant of blood and external blood of vessel. And we gave him Hyeolbuchukyeo-tang(血府逐瘀湯) whose effect is to eliminate blood stasis. And Second, we treated the patient with anxiety in the viewpoint of analytic psychology that claims anxiety has a meaning that makes patient be aware of the problem of himself. Results : The patient's symptom improved significantly. And this patient also can insight himself via the symptom of anxiety. It also help the patient improve. Conclusions : In the treatment of anxiety, the approach by the differential diagnosis of blood stasis(瘀血) can be helpful to improve patient's symptom. And treatment should include the insight of patent by the meaning of anxiety.
