Wind power, which is one of the promising renewable energies, has shown the high growth rate of 35 % of the annual average in the recent 5 years and also windmill related equipment market has been fast-growing. Yaw & Pitch bearing are the key parts of windmill and are machined by huge vertical lathe which is monopolized by the advanced countries. The purpose of this study is to develop the multi-tasking vertical lathe for 5 MW grade windmill bearings, which might be mass produced 3 or 5 years later. In this study, the structure of the crossrail and rotary table, which are the key units of the huge multi-tasking vertical lathe, were optimized through the finite element analysis. Also the basic performance of the rotary table has been evaluated.
The design of a high speed axial piston pump for hydrostatic transmission systems requires specific understanding on where and how much its internal frictional and flow losses are generated. In this study, the frictional loss of a bentaxis type hydraulic piston pump was analyzed in order to find out which design factors influence the mechanical efficiency most significantly. To this end, the friction coefficients of the sliding components were experimentally identified by a specially constructed tribometer. Applying them to the three-dimensional dynamic model of the pump presented by Doh and Hong [1], the friction torques generated by the sliding components such as piston head , bearing and valve plate were theoretically computed. The accuracy of the computed results was confirmed by the comparison with the experimentally measured mechanical efficiency. In this paper, it is shown that the viscous friction on the valve plate and the drive shaft bearing is the primary sources of the frictional losses of the bent-axis type pump, while the friction forces on the piston contribute to them only slightly.
As the urban regeneration project and the old housing maintenance project are actively progressing in Korea, small-scale building construction is being carried out in downtown areas. Small buildings in the downtown area are constructed on about 4 to 10 floors, and since they are carried out in small units in residential areas, it is difficult to enter large equipment to construct existing piles, and it is more vulnerable to complaints about noise and vibration. in this study, helical piles suitable for urban areas or small sites where it is difficult to enter large equipment, such as noise and vibration. Reliability analysis was performed on the results of the static load tests and dynamic load tests conducted at the LH site and the bearing capacity calculated by the hydrostatic method and the empirical formula (N value). As a result of comparing and analyzing the design formula and the results of static load test and dynamic load tests, the correlation between the design formula of the bored pile (Road bridge design standard) formula using N value and the design formula by the modified Davisson method frequently used by method commonly European helical file practitioners.

The error motion of a machine tool spindle directly affects the surface errors of machined parts. The error motions of the spindle are not desired errors in the three linear direction motions and two rotating motions. Those are usually due to the imperfect of bearings, stiffness of spindle, assembly errors, external force or unbalance of rotors. The error motions of the spindle have been needed to be decreased to desired goal of spindle's performance. The level of error motion is needed to be estimated during the design and assembly process of the spindle. In this paper, the estimation method for the five degree of freedom (5 D.O.F) error motions of the spindle is suggested. To estimate the error motions of the spindle, waviness of shaft and bearings, external force model was used as input data. And, the estimation models are considering geometric relationship and force equilibrium of the five degree of the freedom. To calculate error motions of the spindle, not only imperfection of the shaft, bearings, such as rolling element bearing, hydrostatic bearing, and aerostatic bearing, but also driving elements such as worm, pulley, and direct driving motor systems, were considered.
This paper is a numerical study on the correlation of leakage by the variation of operating temperature and orifice diameter applying to hydrostatic bearing in hydraulic actuator. Compared with Brackbill and Kandlikar experimental paper to verify the validity of the numerical analysis technique of the present study, we derive the result that the results of experiments and numerical analysis to match very well. CFD analysis program were analyzed using a commercial code FLUENT V14.5. Inlet and outlet, were applied pressure conditions, the main variables of the analysis is temperature and the orifice inner diameter. The analysis results, pressure value has decreased as the oil temperature and the orifice diameter increases.
The design of an axial piston pump for electro-hydrostatic transmission systems requires accurate information where and how much the internal friction and flow losses are produced. This study is particularly focused on the friction losses of a bent-axis type hydraulic piston pump, aiming at finding out which design factors influence its torque efficiency most significantly. To this end, the friction coefficients of the pump parts such as piston heads, spherical joints, shaft bearings, and valve plate were experimentally identified by a specially constructed tribometer. Applying the experimental data to the equations of motion for pistons as well as to the theoretical friction models for the pump parts, the friction torques produced by them were computed. The accuracy of the computed results was confirmed by the comparison with the practical input torque of the pump. In this paper, it is shown that the viscous friction forces on the valve plate and input shaft bearing are the primary source of the friction losses of the bent-axis type pump, while the friction forces and moments on the piston are of little significance.
The distributor for hydraulic pumps or motors, particularly radial piston motors, include rotary member which has equally both surface shape for dynamic balance and two fixed members, located in both side of rotary member, which have equal surface shape for dynamic balance and circular ring which use to retain predetermined clearance between two fixed members. Rotary member must have valve part for flow-distribution and can have hydrostatic bearing for excellently dynamic balance. At least two annular steps located on said pressure plate which use in compensation of bolt expansion.
To improve the accuracy of a machine, research needs to be conducted on the relationship between the output variables and design variables of a spindle-shaped part from the thermal and static viewpoints. Therefore, research was carried out by examining the correlation of each variable to find the optimum conditions. Moreover, DOE (design of experiments) was extensively used. The model used in this study was a grinding spindle to which a hydrostatic bearing was applied. This model was used in a preliminary analysis based on the experimental results of the previous studies. The influences of the output variables and design variables were compared through a main effect analysis. Generated response surfaces were applied to the Kriging model. To optimize the model, a screening method was selected. In comparison with the initial model, the deformation of the optimized model designed by DOE decreased by 4.1 μm, while the thermal deformation decreased by 1.2 μm. Therefore, it was efficient to design a spindle-shaped part through DOE to improve the accuracy of the machine.
The Cu-Pb-Zn-Ag hydrothermal vein type deposits which comprise the Dongil and Dong-cheogogsan mines occur within the Cretaceous sedimentary rocks in the Euiseong Basin of the southern Korean peninsula. The ore mineralization is contained within three stage(I,II and III) quartz and calcite veins. Ore minerals occur as dominant chalcopyrite, galena, sphalerite, tetrahedrite and Pb, Ag, Sb and Bi-bearing sulfosalts. Stage I ore minerals were deposited between $400^{\circ}C$ and $200^{\circ}C$ from the fluid with moderate salinities(7.0 to 4.5 eq. wt. % NaCl). Evidence of boiling suggests pressure of less than 150 bars during stage I mineralization. This pressure corresponds to maximum depths of 650 m and 1700 m, respectively, assuming lithostatic and hydrostatic loads. The data on mineralogy, temperature and salinity, together with information on the solubility of Cu complex, suggest that Cu deposition is a result of boiling coupled with declining temperature from $350^{\circ}$ to $250^{\circ}C$ or declining log $a_{o_2}$(from -29.8 to -35.9 atm.)and increasing in pH. Pb, Ag, Sb and Bi-bearing sulfosalts were deposited by cooling and dilution at temperature of less than $250^{\circ}C$ from the ore fluid with less than -35.9 atm. of log $a_{o_2}$.

Electrum-sulfide mineralization of the Samgwang and Sobo mines of the Cheongyang Au-Ag area was deposited in two stages of quartz and calcite veins that fill fault zones in granite gneiss. Radiometric dating indicates that mineralization is Early Cretaceous age (127 Ma). Fluid inclusion and sulfur isotope data show that ore mineralization was deposited at temperatures between $340^{\circ}$ and $180^{\circ}C$ from fluids with salinities of 1 to 8 wt. % equiv. NaCl and a ${\delta}^{34}S_{{\sum}S}$ value of 2 to 5 per mil. Evidence of fluid boiling (and $CO_2$ effervescence) indicates a range of pressures from < 200 to $\approx$ 700 bars, corresponding to depths of ${\approx}1.5{\pm}0.3\;km$ in a hydrothermal system which alternated from lithostatic toward hydrostatic conditions. Au-Ag deposition was likely a result of boiling coupled with cooling. Meaured and calculated hydrogen and oxygen isotope values of ore-forming fluids indicate a significant meteoric water component, approaching unexchanged paleometeoric water values. Comparison of these values with those of other Korean Au-Ag deposits reveals a relationship among depth, Au/Ag ratio and degree of water-rock interaction. All investigated Korean Jurassic and Cretaceous gold-silver-bearing deposits have fluids which are dominantly evolved meteoric waters, but only deeper systems (${\geq}1.5\;km$) are exclusively gold-rich.
