  • 수소압축기를 조합한 금속수소화물 히트펌프를 설계하여 이의 성능을 평가할 수 있는 새로운 모델을 제시하고 이를 실험결과와 비교 평가 하였다. 또한 본 모델에서는 카르노사이클에 단열압축과정을 도입하여 여러 조업관수가 성능계수에 미치는 영향을 검토하고 아울러 열역학 제 2법칙에 의한 비가역과정을 도입하므로써 보다 정확한 조업특성을 파악하도록 했다.

2 Vane 펌프 임펠러의 성능 개선에 관한 수치해석적 연구 (A Numerical Study on the Improvement of Performance for the 2 Vane Pump Impeller)

  • This paper describes a numerical study on the improvement of performance of the 2 vane pump impellers. The design of these impellers was optimized using a commercial computation fluid dynamics code and design of experiments. Geometric design variables were defined by the impeller blade angle distribution. The objective functions were defined as the total head, total efficiency and solid material size of the impellers. The importance of the geometric design variables was analyzed using 2k factorial designs. The interaction between the total head, total efficiency and solid material size, according to the impeller blade angle distribution, is discussed by analyzing the 2k factorial design results.

HFC32 냉매를 사용한 지열원 히트펌프의 성능 특성 (Performance of the Geothermal Heat Pump Using HFC32 Refrigerant)

  • Air conditioners adopting high energy efficiency and low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant are being developed globally. In case of commercial air conditioner, R32 with lower GWP than R410A is attracting industrial attentions. In this study, the performance of water-to-water geothermal heat pump adopting R32 is compared with that of the heat pump using R410A. By using R32 instead of R410A, heating capacity and COP in heating standard condition can be increased by 8.8% and 6.3% respectively. Also, cooling capacity and COP in cooling standard condition can be increased by 5.3% and 3.1% respectively by using R32. But in case of using R32, systemic improvements are required to decrease discharge temperature of compressor since discharge temperature rises abnormally in heating operations.

  • In this study, a comparative analysis between an electric heat pump cooling system and a hybrid desiccant cooling system is conducted. Desiccant cooling is a thermal driven system with potentially lower electric power consumption than electric heat pump. Hybrid desiccant cooling system simulation includes components such as a desiccant rotor, direct and indirect evaporative coolers, heat exchangers, fans, and a heat pump system. Using dynamic simulations by climate conditions, house cooling temperatures and power consumption for both systems are analyzed for 16 days period in the summer season under climate scenarios for the year 2100 prediction. The results reveal that the hybrid desiccant cooling system exhibits a 5-18% reduction in electric consumption compared to the heat pump system.

수소 연료전지 차량용 고전압 케이블의 전자파 특성 수치해석에 관한 연구 (Numerical Analysis of Electromagnetic Characteristic of High Voltage/Current Cable for Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV))

  • The electromagnetic characteristics of FCEVs (fuel cell electric vehicles) are much different from the existing combustion engine cars as well as hybrid, plug-in-hybrid, and pure electric vehicles due to the high voltage/current generated by a fuel cell stack which uses a compressed hydrogen gas reacted with oxygen. To operate fuel cell stack efficiently, BOP (Balance of Plant) is essential. BOP systems are used many not only for motors in water pump, air blower, and hydrogen recycling pump but also inverters for these motors. Since these systems or components are connected by high voltage cables, EMC (Electromagnetic compatibility) analysis for high voltage/current cable is the most important element to prevent the possible electric functional safety errors. In this paper, electromagnetic fields of high current/voltage cable for FCEVs is studied. From numerical analysis results, time harmonic magnetic field strength of high current/voltage cable have difference of 20~28 dB according to phase. EMI result considered ground effect of FECV at 10 m shows difference of 14.5 dB at 30 MHz and 2.8 dB at 230 MHz compared with general cable.

액화수소 고압 펌프 Rod 및 챔버 내부 유한요소해석 (Finite Element Analysis of Rod and Inside of Chamber of High Pressure Pump for Liquid Hydrogen)

  • 최근 화석연료를 대체할 수 있는 수소에너지를 이용한 이동 수단에 대한 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 한편 이를 이용하기 위해서는 수소를 생산 저장 이송하는 과정이 필수적이다. 특히 수소를 90 MPa에 이르는 고압으로 저장 이송할 경우 기체 상태가 아닌 액체 상태이므로 부피가 감소하여, 상대적으로 비용을 절감 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 수소 액화에 필수적인 액화수소 펌프 개발을 위해 챔버 내의 유동을 유한요소해석 (Finite Element Methods (FEM)) 프로그램인 ANSYS를 이용하여 해석하였다. 그 결과, 1차 챔버에서 2차 챔버 사이에 밸브가 없는 경우, 2차 챔버 내의 최대 속도는 9.075 m/s, 밸브가 3 mm 열린 경우의 최대 속도는 8.111 m/s 로 10.6% 감소하였다. 또한 밸브가 없는 경우의 최대 압력은 0.62 MPa, 밸브가 3 mm 열린 경우의 최대 압력은 0.63 MPa 로 1.6% 증가하였다. 이 결과를 바탕으로 액화수소 펌프의 상세 설계에 활용할 경우, 좀 더 효율적인 펌프의 설계가 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

Large Cryosorption Pump for the NBI Test Stand

  • A large cryo-pumping system composed of 4 cryosorption pumps was designed and manufactured to satisfy the pressure requirements of the NBI test stand. The cryosorption pump consists of a thermal shield/baffle assembly and a cryopanel coated with activated carbon granules. The thermal shield is cooled by liquid nitrogen, and the cryopanel by a commercial helium refrigerator. The operation characteristics and vacuum performance of the cryosorption pump were investigated. The cooling down time of the cryopanel to 20 K was about 6 hours with a liquid nitrogen consumption rate of about 35 L/hr. The maximum pumping speed of the cryosorption pump for the hydrogen gas measured by the steady pressure method was about 90,000 L/s.

Effect of Drag Stages Surface Roughness on the Compression Ratio of a TMDP

  • The rotor of a turbomolecular drag pump is generally made of an aluminum alloy. Its surface finish is affected by various processes that the rotor itself undergoes during the manufacturing phase. The impact of different surface finishes on the pumping performances of a turbomolecular pump has been mainly investigated by Sawada et al [1]. The present work aims to broaden the previous bibliographic study to the drag stages of a turbomolecular pump by testing the impact of different surface finishes on the compression ratio of the pump. Experimental tests have been made focusing on two processes: the corundum sandblasting and the glass microspheres shot-peening. Both the processes flatten and/or physically remove EDM melted spheres; in particular, blasted surfaces obtained by glass shot-peening are generally smoother than surfaces obtained by corundum sandblasting. In order to characterize the surface texture left by such processes, preliminary surface roughness measurements have been made on the drag rotor disks of several pumps. The experimental tests conducted on both sandblasted and shot-peened rotors confirms previous results obtained on the turbo stages by Sawada et al. [1], showing that the average roughness of the surface has an impact on the compression ratio of the pump; in particular, an increment in the surface roughness causes a corresponding increment in the compression ratio of the pump and vice versa. For the tested pumps, the higher surface roughness gives a factor of increment of about 2 on the measured hydrogen maximum compression ratio of the pump.

  • The present study has investigated the performance of hydrogen gas generators for inhalation purposes based on polyelectrolyte membrane water electrolysis (PEMWE). The system applied two watering methods. One is pumped water (pumping system) and the other is gravity-fed water without a pump (non-pumping system). The cell efficiencies were compared by measuring the cell voltage and temperature in the hydrogen gas generator, respectively. The results show that the cell voltage and temperature increase with the cell current. The cell temperature is lower in the pumping system than that in the non-pumping system at a given cell current. Even though the amount of hydrogen production is the same regardless of the pumping system, the cell efficiency of the hydrogen gas generator in the non-pumping system is better than that in the pumping system.

  • Metal hydride올 이용하는 냉방시스템은 다른 냉방시스템과 비교하여 환경 친화적이며 Clean technology라는 장점이 있다. 이러한 시스템 중에 최근에 많은 연구가 진행중인 Electric Compressor로 수소의 이동이 제어되는 Compressor-Driven Metal Hydride Heat Pump(CDMHHP)은 폐열원의 온도에 의해 제어되는 시스템에 비하여 cooling power가 크다는 장점과 함께 단속적인 냉방이 아닌 2개의 함금쌍으로도 연속적인 냉방이 가능하다는 장점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 CDMHHP system의 동작특성을 분석하기 위해서 2개의 반응관에 고용량과 solping 특성이 매우 우수한 $Zr_{0.9}Ti_{0.1}Cr_{0.55}Fe_{1.45}$ Laves phase metal hydride을 장입하여 시스템을 구성하고 cycle time, surrounding temperature, 장입 수소량, 수소이동량등의 동작조건을 최적화 한 결과 최대 cooling power가 251 kcal/kg-alloyh의 우수한 성능을 보였다.
