These days the injection molding work and press work are in the trend of needing the precision control of position and pressure in a high speed. On the other hand the digital computer technology is developing rapidly. And recently the digital servo controller using micro controller become to be used more broadly, because of the merit of digital communication. In this study the sequential control of hydraulic system switching from position to pressure and to position is tried using the HACD(Hydraulic Axis Controller Digital for electrohydraulic drives) which is manufactured by BoschRexroth. Through this, the possibility of the precision sequential control using the digital servo controller HACD is examined.

The packing-free piston has become widely distributed in certain branches of instrument making and precision machine building. A large number of the most diversified instruments are now being constructed on the principle of the packing-free piston like piston manometers, vacuum manometers, hydraulic machines, dynamometers. hardness measuring instruments. power indicators, hydraulic scales, and many others. In spite of the widespread application of systems with a packing-free piston, there were practically no special papers to the theory and practice of the application of such systems. This paper describes the theoretical approaching method to get the pressure distribution profile between the piston and cylinder using finite element method.
A finite element formulation lot the simulation of axisymmetric sheet hydroforming is proposed, and an implicit program is coded. In order to describe normal anisotropy of steel sheet, Hill's non-quadratic yield function (Hill, 1979) is employed. Frictional contacts among sheet surface, rigid tool surface, and flexible hydrostatic pressure are considered using mesh normal vectors based on finite element of the sheet. Applied hydraulic pressure is also considered as a function of forming rate and time and treated as an external loading. The complete set of the governing relations comprising equilibrium and interfacial equations is approximately linearized for Newton-Raphson algorithm. In order to verify the validity of the developed finite element formulation, the axisymmetric bulge test is simulated. Simulation results are compared with other FEM results and experimental measurements and showed good agreements. In axisymmetric hydroforming processes of a disk cover, formability changes are observed according to the hydraulic pressure curve changes.

An in-process method of diagnosing the spool wear of hydraulic servovalves was explored. The diagnostic method discussed in this paper is for force-control hydraulic servo systems. The key principle used is that pressure sensitivity of a servovalve drops as the valve spool wears out so that it is possible to determine the spool condition by monitoring pressure sensitivity. A diagnostic algorithm was developed and evaluated through numerical simulation and experiments. Two major steps of diagnosis are the evaluation of null bias of the servovalve and the approximation of pressure sensitivity, both of which could be successfully done during normal operation of a servo system. The difference between a new servovalve and a worn valve could be clearly detected in-process, and the diagnostic test was found to be repeatable.

In swash plate type axial piston hydraulic pump and motor, the piston shoe is periodically pressurized with square function shape by supply pressure load as rotation of cylinder barrel. Therefore the recess pressure on bottom part of piston shoe is suddenly increase through orifice in the piston shoe. In this study, we simulated that the frequency response of the recess pressure against with change of supply pressure with analysis tool. Also, we evaluate the dynamic response characteristics of overbalanced hydrostatic bearing with change of the orifice diameter.

The analytic solution of radial displacements of thin cylindrical pressure vessel with carbon fiber T700/Epoxy orthotropic composites was obtained using equilibrium equations of the orthogonal curvilinear coordinate system. The governing equations with the simplified strain versus displacement relation of 3-dimensional curvilinear coordinate system were derived from the variational principle and the virtual work principle. Some theoretical analyses were presented and compared with the results of hydraulic tests for the pressure vessels with some various thicknesses. The results of the theoretical analysis and the hydraulic test were reasonably matched.

Oil gear pump is used for the cooling pump system of commercial vehicle. The hydraulic pulsation pressure of oil gear pump is one of the most important reasons for the vibration and noise of the pump. In this study, the several hydraulic factors acting on oil gear motor are analyzed by CFD in operation of cooling system. Forced vibration analysis due to hydraulic pulsation pressure is analyzed by FEA for predicting deformation and equivalent stress.
The flow passing through river-crossing structures such as weirs and low-fall dams is dominated by rapidly varied flow including hydraulic jump. The intense unsteadiness of flow velocity and free surface profile affects the stability of such hydraulic structures. In particular, the steady hydraulic jump generated at high Froude number conditions includes remarkably air entrainment, making the flow characteristics more complicated. In this study, a large-eddy simulation was performed for turbulence effect and the hybrid VoF technique to simulate the steady hydraulic jump at the Froude number of 7.3 and the Reynolds number of 15,700. The results of the numerical simulation showed that the instantaneous maximum pressure and time-average pressure distribution calculated on the bottom surface downstream of the structure could be reasonably well reproduced being in good agreement with the experimental values. However, the instantaneous minimum pressure distribution in the direct downstream of the structure shows the opposite pattern to the target experimental measurement value. However, the numerical simulation performed in this study is considered to reasonably predict the minimum pressure distributions observed in various experiments conducted at similar conditions. The vertical distributions of flow velocity and air concentration computed in the center of the hydraulic jump were found to be in good agreement with the experimental results measured under similar conditions, showing self-similarity. These results show that the large eddy simulation and hybrid VoF techniques applied in this study can reproduce the hydraulic jump with strong air entrainment and the resulting intense free surface and pressure fluctuations at high Froude number conditions.
This paper is the numerical study on the correlation of leakage by the variation of inlet pressure and clearance in hydrostatic bearing. The main goal of this study is to apply to the design of hydro system the results that the pocket pressure and the leakage rate according to the inlet pressure and the clearance between piston and cylinder tube. Because the hydrostatic bearing in hydraulic cylinder has the narrow rectangular channel between piston and cylinder tube, so to verify the numerical scheme, it has been compared with the experimental results of Brackbill and Kandlikar. The pressure data of numerical results inside narrow rectangular channel correlate was showed a good agreement with experimental results, thereby the numerical scheme was applied to the real model that is a hydraulic cylinder with the hydrostatic bearing. In conclusion, the pressure differences between inlet and pocket were shown within 3%. Leakage rates were showed rapidly increased pattern between about 4.5 and 6.7 times because the section area to calculate the leakage rates were proportioned to a square of diameter. The correlation equation was calculated among the inlet pressure, the clearance and the leakage rate by using the linear regression.

Diesel engine is widely used for ship and industry source of power because of its high thermal efficiency and reliability and durability. However it lead to air pollution due to exhaust gas, and it is important to develop diesel engine of lower air-pollution to decrease the hazardous exhaust gas emissions. As one of the ways, the study for practically using the high pressure of fuel injection and variable injection timing system is being processing. The high pressure injection, which is said to be an effective means for reducing both NOx and particulate emissions, and great improvements in combustion characteristics have been reported by many researchers. In this study, electronic-hydraulic fuel injection system and hydraulic fuel injector system have been applied to the D.I. test engine for high pressure injection and variable injection timing. The injection pressure and injection rate depending upon accumulator pressure were measured with strain gage and Bosch injection rate measuring system before fitting the system into test engine, and analyzed the characteristics of the injection system. The combustion characteristics with this injection system has been analyzed with data concerning heat release rate, pressure rising rate, ignition point, ignition delay and maximum pressure value.
