Autonomous SpeedSprayer Using Fuzzy Control

  • Autonomous speedsprayer operation in an orchard was conducted using a fuzzy logic controller (FLC). Orchard image analysis and signals of ultrasonic sensors were processed in real time. The speedsprayer was modified to be steered by two hydraulic cylinders. The FLC has two inputs of direction of running and distance from obstacles. Operation time of the hydraulic cylinders were inferred as output of the FLC. Field test results showed that the speedsprayer could be autonomously operated by the FLC along with the image processing and the ultrasonic sensors. The ultrasonic sensors didn't contribute to the improvement of guidance performance, but the speedsprayer could avoid trees or obstacles in emergent situations with them.

  • Full scale durability test in the laboratory is an essential of any fatigue life evaluation of components or structures of the automotive vehicle. Component testing is particularly important in today's highly competitive industries where the design to reduce weight and production costs must be balanced with the necessity to avoid expensive service failure. Generally, Hydraulic road simulator is used to carry out the fatigue test and the vibration test. In this paper, the algorithm and software to realize the real road profile are developed. The operation software for simultaneously controlled multi-axial simulator is developed and the input and output data are displayed window based PC controller in real time. The software to generate the real road profile are developed. This paper developed a road profile reappearance software and simultaneously apply 3-axial actuator to white noise, so we verified the propriety of reappearance software through accomplishes an real test.

  • In this paper, it is intended to study about deferences of design and operation properties between large and small hydro-power house's turbine which type is reaction. In generally, turbine of large hydro-power has a more safe and effective energy output mechanisms than small hydro-power's because the turbine of small hydro-power is more sensitive to hydraulic losses. But, it is more effective for the all energy market to improve the capability and efficiency of small hydro-power in the present status of increasing construction of small hydro-power than large hydro-power. Therefore, we intend to investigate and introduce the way to enhance the efficiencies of reaction turbine adopted to small hydro-power.

  • The propeller type hydro turbine model with vertical axis has been tested and analized. The blade angle of runner of turbine model were designed to be varied according to the condition of head and flowrate. When the changes in head and output were comparatively large, the efficiency drop were small, so the efficiency characteristics and stability of the entire operating condition were maintained in good condition. These results showed that the developed model in this study will be suitable for small hydro power stations with large changes in head and load such as sewage treatment plants and agricultural reservoirs.

  • Among many servo control systems in steel making plant, AGC system in hot rolling mill is very important to get a accurate strip thickness for good quality. AGC (Auto Gauge Control) system controls the roll gap to maintain the required thickness by using the variation of roll force and the measure of output thickness. In this paper, a simulator of AGC system which unifies both hydraulic servo control system and AGC algorithm is suggested. After proving the concurrence of algorithms between the simulator and real system, main actuator system is added. Instead of usual PI system used in present system, DOB control scheme is applied and shows the effect of disturbance attenuation well.

The blade angle and the guide vane opening of the turbine model were designed to be varied according to the best combination of guide vane and runner blade opening. When the changes in head and output were comparatively large, the efficiency drop were small, so the efficiency characteristics and stability of the entire operating condition were maintained in good condition. These results showed that the developed model in this study will be suitable for small hydro power stations with large changes in head and load.

  • A method to design a robust servomechanism by continuously variable structure control is proposed. The state and control signal of this servomechanism do notchatter since a continuous control scheme is used. The input-output relation of this servomechanism is determined by prescribing a hyperplane in a state space of which the neighborhood is asymptotically attractive everywhere. This control mechanism was applied to a single rod cylinder servomechanism which has the nonlinerities due to their nonsymmetrical structure and its excellency was verified.

  • This study is to optimize the condition of pulse parameters using the response surface method in micro pulse TIG welding of pleated type metallic filter. The input parameters used were pulse current, base current, pulse duty, frequency and welding speed and the hydraulic pressure was used as the output parameter. The central composite design was designed using second order regression model, As the results, the optimal welding condition to manufacture the pleated type metallic filter was obtained.

  • A recurrent artificial neural network (ANN) model is developed to simulate hydrocarbon recovery process at petroleum-contaminated site. The groundwater extraction rate, vacuum pressure, and saturation hydraulic conductivity are selected as the input variables, while the cumulative hydrocarbon recovery volume is considered as the output variable. The experimental data fer establishing the ANN model are from implementation of a multiphase flow model for dual phase remediation process under different input variable conditions. The complex nonlinear and dynamic relationship between input and output data sets are then identified through the developed ANN model. Reasonable agreements between modeling results and experimental data are observed, which reveals high effectiveness and efficiency of the neural network approach in modeling complex hydrocarbon recovery behavior.
