체류시간(滯留時間)과 원판회전속도(圓板回轉速度)가 회전원판생물막법(回轉圓板生物膜法)의 처리효율(處理効率)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Effects of Detention Time and Disc Speed on the Treatment Efficiencies of RBC)

  • 본(本) 연구(硏究)는 고정미생물막(固定微生物膜)을 이용한 회전원판법(回轉圓板法)이 저농도(低濃度)의 유입수(流入水)로부터 고농도(高濃度) 유입수(流入水)로 단계별(段階別)로 변(變)하는 오수(汚水)에 대해 각(各) 단계별(段階別) 처리효율(處理効率)과 회전원판(回轉圓板)의 회전속도(回轉速度)와 체류시간(滯留時間)이 처리효율(處理効率)에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 분석(分析)하여 국내오수처리(國內汚水處理)에 대한 회전원판법(回轉圓板法)이 개발(開發)에 기여코자 한다. 고농도(高濃度)의 유입수(流入水)는 저농도(低濃度)의 일반오수(一般汚水)에 분뇨(糞尿)를 투입(投入)하여 그 농도(濃度)를 인위적(人爲的)으로 만들어 사용했으며, 이들 유입수(流入水)에 대한 pilot plant의 실험결과(實驗結果)는 원판(圓板)의 회전속도(回轉速度)가 3 rpm, 체류시간(滯留時間)이 120 분(分)인 경우가 경제성(經濟性)이 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 단계별(段階別) 처리효율(處理効率)은 첫 단계(段階)에서 유입수(流入水)의 농도(濃度) 관계(關係)없이 40~50%정도의 $BOD_5$ 제거율(除去率)을 나타내었고, 용적부하(容積負荷) $2.0kgBOD/m^2$ 일(日)이 고농도(高濃度)에서도 방류수(放流水)의 $BOD_5$ 제거율(除去率)이 88~90% 정도로 양호(良好)하였다.

Experimental seismic behaviour of L-CFST column to H-beam connections

  • In this study, the seismic performance of the connections between L-shaped columns composed of concrete-filled steel tubes (L-CFST columns) and H-beams used in high-rise steel frame structures was investigated. Seven full-scale specimens were tested under quasi-static cyclic loading. The variables studied in the tests included the joint type, the axial compression ratio, the presence of concrete, the width-to-thickness ratio and the internal extension length of the side plates. The hysteretic response, strength degradation, stiffness degradation, ductility, plastic rotation capacity, energy dissipation capacity and the strain distribution were evaluated at different load cycles. The test results indicated that both the corner and exterior joint specimens failed due to local buckling and crack within the beam flange adjacent to the end of the side plates. However, the failure modes of the interior joint specimens primarily included local buckling and crack at the end plates and curved corners of the beam flange. A design method was proposed for the flexural capacity of the end plate connection in the interior joint. Good agreement was observed between the theoretical and test results of both the yield and ultimate flexural capacity of the end plate connection.

면내 압축력 및 면외 바닥하중을 받는 플랫 플레이트 슬래브 (RC Flat Plate Subject to Combined In-Plane Compressive and Out-of-Plane Floor Loads)

  • 면외 바닥하중과 토압과 수압에 의한 면내 압축력을 받는, 깊은 지하구조에 사용되는 플랫플레이트 슬래브에 대한 수치해석연구를 실시하였다. 비선형 유한요서해석을 위하여 재료와 기하학적 비선형효과를 고려한 수치해석프로그램을 개발하였으며, 이 수치해석방법은 4 변이 단순지지된 플레이트에 대한 실험결과와 비교에 의하여 검증되었다. 해석모델로서 국내 콘크리트계산규준의 직접설계법에 의하여 설계된 플랫플레이트 슬래브가 사용되었다. 하중조합과 하중순서에 대한 연구를 통하여 플랫플레이트 슬래브의 강도를 지배하는 하중조건을 연구하였으며, 이 지배하중을 받는 슬래브에 대한 변수연구를 통하여 철근비, 형상비, 콘크리트강도, 세장비에 따를 슬래브의 강도변화를 연구하였다. 이 연구결과를 바탕으로 바닥하중증대법을 제시하였다.

Performance Evaluation of Anaerobic Bioreactors and Effects of Ammonia on Anaerobic Digestion in Treating Swine Wastewaters

  • The operational characteristics of anaerobic bioreactors in treating swine wastewater were evaluated upto hydraulic retention time (HRT) of 1 day and organic loading rate (OLR) of $5.1kg-COD/m^3{\cdot}d$ for 200 days. The bioreactors were effective in treating swine wastewaters with COD removal efficiency of $78.9{\sim}81.5%$ and biogas generation of $0.39{\sim}0.59m^3/kg-COD_r$ at OLR of $1.1{\sim}2.2kg-COD/m^3{\cdot}d$. The two-stage ASBF anaerobic bioreactors was effective in treating different characteristics of swine wastewaters since they showed high and stable COD removal efficiency at high OLR due to effective retention of biomass by media and staging. The effects of ammonia on anaerobic digestion were investigated by operating two-stage ASBF reactors using swine wastewaters as influent without and with ammonia removal at HRT of $1{\sim}2$ days and OLR of $2.2{\sim}9.6kg-COD/m^3{\cdot}d$ for 250 days. The COD removal efficiency and biogas generation of two-stage ASBF reactors was decreased by increasing influent ammonia concentrations to 1,580 mg (T-N)/L with increasing OLR to $6.3kg-COD/m^3{\cdot}d$, while those were increased by maintaining influent ammonia concentrations below 340 mg (T-N)/L by MAP precipitation with increasing OLR to $9.6kg-COD/m^3{\cdot}d$. Initial inhibition of ammonia on anaerobic processes was observed at a concentration of 760 mg (T-N)/L and the COD removal efficiency and biogas generation dropped to 1/2 at ammonia concentration ranges of $1,540{\sim}1,870mg$ (T-N)/L. It is essential to remove ammonia in swine wastewaters to an initial inhibition level before anaerobic processes for the effective removal of COD.

  • 상향류 혐기성 슬러지 블랭킷 반응조을 이용한 프로피온산의 처리시 고농도 황산염의 영향을 조사하였다. 반응조의 평균 유기물 부하와 수리학적 체류시간은 $1.2kg \;COD/m^3{\cdot}d$와 1.6일로 유지하였다. 황산염이 없는 조건에서 UASB 반응조의 경우 95%의 COD 제거율을 보였으며 황산염이 $2,000mgSO_4^{2-}/L$로 존재하는 경우 용존 황화물의 영향으로 COD 제거율이 83%로 감소하였다. 메탄 생성균과 황산염 환원균의 경쟁관계를 평가하기 위하여 미생물의 상호작용에 관해 조사하였다. $COD/SO_4^{2-}$ 비가 1인 경우 이용 가능한 전자 수용체의 평균 58%가 메탄 생성균에 의해 이용되며 나머지가 황산염 환원균에 의해 사용되었다. 초산과 프로피온산을 기질로 이용한 비메탄 활성도의 경우 미생물이 기질에 적응함에 따라 증가하였다.

UASB 공정에 의한 슬러리형 돈사폐수의 처리 (The Treatment of Slurry-type Swine Waste using UASB Reactor)

  • This research examined the treatment efficiency and methane production rate in treating slurry-type swine waste using UASB (upflow anaerobic sludge blanket) reactor. The UASB reactor was operated at an organics volumetric loading rate (VLR) of $2.6-15.7kgCOD/m^3/day$. A stepwise increase of the VLR resulted in a temporary deterioration in the COD removal rate in UASB reactor but recovered quickly. The COD removal rate were 65-70% for VLR up to $5 kgCOD/m^3/day$. When organics VLR was $10kgCOD/m^3/day$, the COD removal rate decreased sharply and there was loss of 17.537g of the seeding biomass due to sludge washout. This result indicated that the UASB system cannot be adapted to more than $10kgCOD/m^3/day$ of VLR. As the organic load increased from 2.6 to $15.7kgCOD/m^3/d$, the biogas production rate varied from 3.2 to 10.8 L/d and the methane conversion rate of the organic matter varied from 0.30 to $0.23m^3CH_4/kg\;COD_{removed}$. The methane content showed the range of 70.1-81.5% during the experimental period. The volatile solids (VS) removal efficiency was similar at the low VLR (< $5 kgCOD/m^3/day$), but it decreased sharply at the high VLR (> $5 kgCOD/m^3/day$). The VS reduction rate was, moreover, large those of COD. The result shows that hydraulic retention time above 2 days is essential in case of treating wastewater containing 1% of solids.

기존 활성슬러지 공정의 MBBR 공정 적용가능성 평가 (Application of MBBR Process in the Activated Sludge Process)

  • The objective of this study is to evaluate the possibility to apply the Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor(MBBR) in the activated sludge treatment process with existing aerobic HRT. Optimal operation conditions were assumed according to the analysis of organic matter and nutrients removal efficiencies depending on loading variations. The process was operated under different conditions: RUN I(HRT=7.14hr, $I{\cdot}R=100%$), RUN II(HRT=6.22hr, $I{\cdot}R=100%$), RUN III(HRT=6.22 hr, $I{\cdot}R=150%$), RUN IV(HRT=6.22hr, $I{\cdot}R=200%$), the TBOD removal efficien cies are 88%, 88.5%, 94.6%, 97.6%, respectively. Overall TSS removal efficiency is 90%, and it is increasing in RUN IV. In the case of Nitrogen, the highest removal efficiency of 90% was observed in RUN III and RUN IV, Nitrification and Denitrification rates are 0.013-0.016kg $NH_3-N/kg$ Mv-d and 0.009-0.019kg $NO_3/kg$ Mv-d, respectively. Phosphorus removal efficiencies are 89.6% in RUN I, 91.5% in RUN II, 84.3% in RUN III, and 76.4% in RUN IV. The process under shorter SRT yields better performance in terms of phosphorus removal. It was noticed that to achieve the effluent phosphorus concentration ofless than 1mg/L and removal efficiency higher than 80%, SRT should not be longer than 10 days. Experimental result shows that HRT of 6.22 hours is suitable for this treatment process, and, as a result, the aerobic reactor including moving media and DO depletion tank have a sufficient effect to the process performance.

인공습지의 농촌지역 오수정화시설에 적용가능성 연구 (Feasibility Study of Constructed Wetland for the Wastewater Treatment in Rural Area)

  • Field experiment was performed from August 1996 to January 1998 to examine the applicability of constructed wetland system for wastewater treatment in rural area. The pilot plant was installed in Kon-Kuk University and the school building septic tank effluent was used as an influent to the treatment basin. Hydraulic loading rate was about 0.1 6$0.16^3/m^2$ day and theoretical detention time in the system was 1.38 days. The treatment basin was composed of sand and reed. The influent DO concentration was low and many cases close to zero, but effluent concentration was higher than the influent which implies that oxygen was supplied naturally. The average concentration of influent BOD was 126mg/L, and with average removal rate of 69 % the average effluent concentration was 4Omg/L which satisfied the effluent water quality standard for the system of interest. The average influent concentration of COD was 2Olmg/L and average effluent concentration was 75mg/L with average removal rate of 60%. The performance of BOD and COD tends to deteriorate in the low temperature, and appropriate action needs to be taken during the cold winter time for stable operation. The average influent concentration of SS was 5Omg/L, and effluent was 1 1mg/L with average removal rate of 76% which satisfied the effluent water quality standard for the system of interest. The results for the regulated components, SOD and SS, from the experiment showed that constructed wetland system can meet the effluent water quality standards. The average influent concentration of total phosphorus was 25.6mg/L and average effluent concentration was 7.8mg/L with average removal rate of 63%. Not like the performance of the above components, average nitrogen removal rate was only 11.2% which is not satisfactory. Although, nitrogen is not regulated at this moment, it can cause many environmental problems including eutrophication. Therefore, nitrogen removal efficiency should be improved for actual application. From the result of the field experiment, constructed wetland system was thought to be an appropriate alternative for wastewater treatment in rural area.

건축 구조물의 진동 제어용 하이브리드형 대용량 리니어 모터 댐퍼의 개발 (Development of a Large Capacity Hybrid-Type Linear Motor Damper for the vibration Control of Building Structures)

  • As resent trends in structural construction have been to build taller and larger structures than any time in the past, they have had high flexibility and low damping that can cause large vibration response under severe environmental loading such as earthquakes, winds, and mechanical excitations. The damper with mass and sqring is one aproach to safeguarding the structure against excessive vibrations. In this paper, a large capacity hybrid-type linear motor damper(LMD) was designed and fabricated for the application to the vibration control of a large building structure model. It has been designed to be able to move the damper mass, 1,500 kg up to ${\pm}250mm$ strokes at the first mode natural frequency of the building structure model, ${\pm}0.51Hz$. Linear motor is consisted of the fixed coil and the movable NdFeB permanent magnets field part. The PM field part composed magnet modules and iron yoke, is the damper mass itself, 1500kg. LMD therefore has a simplified structure and requires a few elements in the driving system, being compared with a rotary motor damper and a hydraulic damper. However, the manufacture of large PM linear actuator is difficult because of the limit of PM size and the attraction and repulsion at the assembly of PM. Therefore, large damper system is manufactured and tested for dynamic characteristics and frequency response.

조수간만의 차를 고려한 새로운 하역 시스템의 능동 제어 (Active Control of a New Cargo Handling System Adapted for Time-Varying Tide)

  • 본 연구에서는 조수간만의 차가 큰 항만에 적합한 새로운 하역 시스템을 제안하였다. 새로운 하역 시스템은 기존의 갑문 이용 방식 대신에 일종의 유압 엘리베이터를 사용함으로써 조수간만의 차에 따라 변하는 선박의 높이로 실시간 제어하여 선적 흑은 하역을 하는 방식이다. 한번에 대량의 컨테이너를 처리하기 위해 컨테이너 팔레트 운송타를 도입함으로써 기존 시스템에 비해 시간당 처리능력을 높일 수 있고, 선적 및 하역의 전 과정을 자동화함으로써 작업 효율을 극대화할 수 있도록 하였다. 새로운 하역 시스템의 개념 입증을 위해 소형 하역 시스템 모델을 설계 제작하였다. 제작된 모델은 컨테이너 팔레트 운송차, 플랫폼과 리프트 칼럼의 복합 구조물, 그리고 전용 운반선으로 구성된다. ER(electro-rheological) 밸브-실린더에 의해 구동되는 플랫폼은 조수간만의 차와 과도에 의해 변하는 선박의 높이를 능동적으로 추적 제어하게 된다. 동적 모델성을 통해 플랫폼의 운동 지배 방정식을 도출하였고, 파도 가진으로 인한 선박의 거동 및 조수간만의 차를 모델링하였다. 선적 및 하역의 자동화와 플랫폼의 정확한 위치 제어를 위해 시퀀스 제어기와 PID(proportional-integral-derivative) 위치 제어기가 연계된 제어 시스템을 구성하였다. 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통해 제안된 하역 시스템의 유용성을 입증하였다.
