The hydraulic-oil pump is widely used for building machinery, brake systems of vehicles and automatic control systems due to its high dynamic force and smooth linear force control performance. This paper presents a novel direct instantaneous pressure control of the hydraulic pump system with SRM drive. The proposed hydraulic pump system embeds the pressure controller and direct instantaneous torque controller. Due to the proportional relationship between pump pressure and torque, pressure can be controlled by the motor torque directly. The proposed direct torque controller can reduce inherent torque ripple of SRM, and develop a smooth torque, which can increase the stability of the hydraulic pump. The proposed hydraulic pump system has also fast step response and load response. The proposed hydraulic pump system is verified by computer simulation and experimental results.

This paper presents studies on the design of water hydraulic system and components to replace oil with tap-water as the pressure transmission medium in hydraulic systems. In order to improve the performance of water hydraulic system, the thermal and hydraulic properties of tap-water are first investigated. Based on these characteristics, the design parameters, such as the clearances of the moving parts, the cross-sectional area of pipes and relative roughness, are proposed so that the performance of water hydraulic system is the same as that of oil. In addition, the operating ranges, which show the possibility of using water hydraulic system, are examined.

A controller design procedure for an electro-hydraulic positioning systems has been developed using $H{\infty}$ control. The generalized plant models and weighting function for multiplicative uncertainty modelling error was presented along with $H{\infty}$ controller designs in order to investigate the robust stability and performance. Both disturbance rejection and command tracking performances were improved with the $H{\infty}$ controller, and the better uniformity of time response is achieved across wide range of operating conditions than the PID, LQR and LQG control scheme. The multiplicative uncertainty case was specifically suited for the design of an electro-hydraulic positioning control systems using $H{\infty}$ control.

Hydraulic pipeline between servo valve and actuator affect the dynamic characteristics of electrohydraulic servo systems in serveral ways. This paper deal with the speed control of oil hydraulic gear motor using electrohydraulic servo valve. The frequency and transient response of electrohydraulic servo valve coupled to a gear motor is anlayzed. In particular, the effect of short and long hydraulic pipelines between servo valve and gear motor is investigated. The dynamic characteristics of the speed control systems of gear motor with short pipeline is first described via frequency response experiments with small signal linearized analysis. Loner pipeline is applied distributed parameter pipeline model with consideration of frequency dependent viscous friction.
In this study, the effects of fracture tensor component and first invariant on block hydraulic behaviors are evaluated in the 2-D DFN(discrete fracture network) systems. A series of regression analysis is performed between connected fracture tensor components and block hydraulic conductivities estimated at every $30^{\circ}$ hydraulic gradient directions for a total of 36 DFN systems having various joint density and size distribution. The directional block hydraulic conductivity seems to have strong relation with the fracture tensor component estimated in direction perpendicular to it. It is found that an equivalent continuum approach could be acceptable for the 2-D DFN systems under condition that the first invariant of fracture tensor is more than 2.0~2.5. The first invariant of fracture tensor seems highly correlated with average block hydraulic conductivity and can be used to evaluate hydraulic characteristics of the 2-D DFN systems. Also, a possibility of upscaling using the first invariant of fracture tensor for the DFN system is addressed through this study.

This paper deals with pressure ripple attenuation far separated-type Hydrostatic Transmission (HST) consisting ova variable axial piston pump connected in an open loop to a fried displacement axial piston motor. Pressure ripples in HST is major source of vibration which can lead to fatigue failure of components and cause noise. In order to reduce the pressure ripple, an annular tube tripe hydraulic filter is proposed to attenuate pressure ripples with the high frequencies components to achieve better noise reduction in HST. The basic principle of a hydraulic filter is allied to propagation of pressure wave, reflection, absorption in cross section of discontinuity and resonance in the hydraulic pipeline. It is experimentally shown that the hydraulic filter attenuates about 30∼40dB of pressure ripple with high frequencies. These results will assist in modeling and design of noise reduction in hydraulic control systems, and provide a means of designing a quieter HST.

The established mathematical modeling methods have limitation to know the hydraulic characteristics at the wastewater treatment plant which are complex and nonlinear systems. So, an artificial neural network (ANN) model based on hydraulic characteristics is applied for modeling wastewater quality of a full-scale wastewater treatment plant using DNR (Daewoo nutrient removal) process. ANN was trained using data which are influents (TSS, BOD, COD, TN, TP) and effluents (COD, TN, TP) components in a year, and predicted the effluent results based on the training. To raise the efficiency of prediction, inputs of ANN are added the influent and effluent information that are in yesterday and the day before yesterday. The results of training data tend to have high accuracy between real value and predicted value, but test data tend to have lower accuracy. However, the more hydraulic characteristics are considered, the results become more accuracy.
Hydraulic systems of injection molding machine are modelled and simulated with AMESim which is a commercial program. Detail models of hydraulic components are simulated and simulation results are evaluated with maker's test results in catalog. Sub system models which is divided according to functional operation are made and its analysis results shows how design parameters work on operational characteristics like cylinder speed, cylinder displacement, pressure, flow rates at each node and so on. Total circuit model is also made and analyzed. The prediction made by simulation will be used design of hydraulic systems of injection molding machine.

More recently, unsteady flow in small-diameter pipes plays a major role in liquid propellantrocket systems, hydraulic and pneumatic control system, and elsewhere. And it has shown that line dynamics can have a marked effect on the hydraulic system characteristics. In this paper, transfer function of hydraulic lines with an accumulator and an outlet orifice is' developed and compared with experimental data from frequency response tests at various airvolume(V.) and the location of accumulator(ld1t), so that their performance may be correctly and easily predicted and the design of the systems incorporating them improved. The obtained results are as follows: 1. The dynamic response of hydraulic lines may be analyzed more accurately by use of the viscous term(22) in unsteady laminar flow. 2. There was good agreement between the theoretical and experimental results of this investigation, and hydraulic systems with liines included an accumulator can be analyzed more accurately by use of the pressure transfer function given by eq. (16). 3. For the mitigation of surge in hydraulic lines, it is more effective that the location ofaccumulator is close to the pipe outlet side. 4. According to the gas volume of accumulator is increased(the sealing pressure is close tomean line pressure), the damping effect of pressure wave is improved.

mathematical models for a hydraulic brake actuator and a brake control law for vehicle collision warning/collision avoidance (CW/CA) systems will be presented in this paper. The control law have been designed for optimzied safety and comfort. A solenoid-valve-controlled hydraulic brake actuator system for the CW/CA systems has been investigated, A nonlinear computer model and a linear model of the hydraulic brake actuator system have been developed. Both models were found to represent the actual system with good accuracy. Uncertainties in the brake actuator model have been considered in the design of the control law for the roubustness of the controller. The effects of brake control on CW/CA vehicle response has been investigated via simulations. The simulations were performed using the hydraulic brake system model and a complete nonlinear vehicle model. The results indicate that the proposed brake control law can provide the CW/CA vehicles with an opimized compromise between safety and comfort.
