운전조건이 하이브리드 자동차의 연비에 미치는 영향 연구 (The Influence of Operating Conditions on Fuel Economy of the Hybrid Electric Vehicle)

  • In the present study, the influence of operating conditions on fuel economy for hybrid electric vehicle was analyzed. In order to accomplish this, vehicle speed, engine speed, battery current and voltage, SOC (state of charge),motor speed and torque, generator speed and torque, engine coolant temperature etc. were measured in real time. The tests were carried out under different driving cycles which are urban and highway cycles, KOREA CITY cycle and on-road driving, and also under various operating conditions such as different initial SOC, with or without regenerative braking etc.. Generally, conventional gasoline engines show a poor fuel economy at stop and go driving, because braking energy is wasted and the engine is operated in low thermal efficiency regions. However, in case of hybrid vehicles, higher fuel economy can be obtained because of utilizing the maximum thermal efficiency regions of engine, idling stop of engine, and regenerative braking etc..

  • In this paper, the study was conducted on the subject of the hybrid electric vehicles used by the military, and optimized the propulsion system for fuel economy considering energy supply to the mission equipments. For the analysis of the vehicles, a method based on the geometry and some assumptions was applied with basic vehicle dynamics. The sources of energy supply in the military hybrid electric vehicles are an engine, a battery and an ultra-capacitor. The optimal operation point among an engine, a battery and an ultra-capacitor can be found by minimizing energy consumption of driving power train and mission equipments. In the study, it was possible to find the optimal propulsion system by comparing fuel efficiency of the vehicles during the driving cycle.

두 팔을 가지는 변형 가능한 구형로봇 (A Deformable Spherical Robot with Two Arms)

  • In this paper, we present a new type of spherical robot having two arms. This robot, called KisBot, mechanically consists of three parts, a wheel-shaped body and two rotating semi-spheres. In side of each semi-sphere, there exists an arm which is designed based on slider-crank mechanism for space efficiency. KisBot has hybrid types of driving mode: rolling and wheeling. In the rolling mode, the robot folds its arms through inside of itself and uses them as pendulum, then the robot works like a pendulum-driven robot. In the wheeling mode, two arms are extended from inside of the robot and are contacted to the ground, then the robot works like a one-wheel car. The Robot arms can be used as a brake during rolling mode and add friction to the robot for climbing a slope during wheeling mode. We developed a remote controlled type robot for experiment. It contains two DC motors which are located in the center of each semi-sphere for main propulsion, two RC motors for each arm operation, speed controllers for each semi-sphere, batteries for main power source, and other mechanical components. Experiments for the rolling and wheeling mode verify the hybrid driving ability and efficiency of the our proposed spherical robot.

  • 최근 이산화탄소에 따른 지구온난화 문제와 배기가스의 저감을 위하여 하이브리드 자동차가 각광을 받고 있다. 하이브리드 자동차는 기계적인 엔진과 전기적인 모터시스템이 결합된 동력구조를 갖는다. 차량의 주행조건에 따라 하이브리드 자동차의 구동을 위해 필요로 하는 에너지의 흐름은 달라진다. 본 논문에서는 실시간 모니터링 시스템을 이용한 하이브리드 자동차 교육용 콘텐츠에 관한 연구를 대상으로 한다. 하드웨어와 버추얼 프로그램으로 구성된 실시간 모니터링 시스템을 이용하여 하이브리드 자동차의 전체적인 운행을 주행조건별로 시뮬레이션을 통해 모사하고, 하드웨어를 통해 학습할 수 있는 방법에 대해 기술한다.

  • Facing the current hikes of labor wage and high oil price, it is needed to have energy-saving machinery which also enables us precise farm operations. Thus, it was necessary to develop a safe machine which allows secure and pleasant works along orchard slopes. In this study, a lifting utility with balance-controlled platform was developed. The platform utility could maintain to level the workbench while driving along slopes. Even the machine body was driven at the tilt angle ranges of ${\pm}20^{\circ}$, the platform bench could be maintained within ${\pm}0.5^{\circ}$ of a gimbal angle. In addition, the machine lifted up to 2.0 m using an electric-hybrid driving mechanism with a low noise. A tandem hybrid power source was developed with a DC 72 V, 100 AH for the Deep-Cycle batteries, charged with 3.5 kW gasoline generator as an auxiliary power source. HST, which is one of the CVT's, was adopted as a transmission device, and a crawer track was used for the safety of the vehicle against tip-over. The maximum lifting height of platform was is 2,500 mm, and the maximum extendable width was 2,900 mm.

  • An inverter system which consists of three bi-directional buck-boost converters, is proposed for motor driving. Three phase sinusoidal output voltages can be generated by utilizing three buck-boost converters. The advantage of this scheme is that it does not require a separate DC-DC converter for motor driving, i.e. inverter function is combined into the three DC-DC converters. This topology is suitable for inverters for hybrid or fuel cell vehicles where DC link voltage is subject to change depending upon charging status or output power. So the proposed system is capable of driving motor at high speed. The converter system is controlled by PI controller and simulation results done by MATLAB SIMULINK are provided.Ҙ?⨀ሉȀ̀㘰々K䍄乍?ጊ츀Ѐ㔹〻Ԁ䭃䑎䴀

High Coercive Nd-Fe-B Sintered Magnets for High Temperature Application

  • Various sintered magnets containing $28{\sim}31\;wt%$ Nd and $0{\sim}7\;wt%$ Dy were evaluated for coercivity and irreversible flux loss as a preliminary study to develop highly-coercive, high-temperature magnets that can be applied for driving motors in a hybrid vehicle. The sintered magnets were prepared in sequence of strip casting, HD treatment, jet milling, magnetic field pressing, sintering and post-annealing. Increasing Dy content and adjusting post-annealing temperature monotonically increased coercivity of magnets from about 14 kOe to 30 kOe. A magnet containing 28 wt% Nd and 7 wt% Dy exhibits a $(BH)_{max}$+$_i{H_c}$ value of almost 64. This is very close to what the automobile industry considers as the minimum value (65) for a hybrid vehicle system. Moreover, irreversible flux loss of the magnet was about 3% at $200^{\circ}C$, which is well less than the allowable limit (5%) to a driving motor in hybrid vehicles.

  • Recently, the global automobile market is rapidly changing from internal combustion engine vehicles to eco-friendly vehicles including electric vehicles. Among eco-friendly vehicles, LPG vehicles are low in fine dust and are suggested as a realistic way to replace diesel vehicles. In addition, it is more economical than gasoline in its class, showing a cost-saving effect. In Korea, the business of converting gasoline into LPG is active. Research is being conducted to apply this to hybrid vehicles. In this study, the difference in energy consumption efficiency was analyzed when LPG fuel was applied by selecting a 2-liter GDI hybrid electric vehicle. The operation of the hybrid system according to various driving characteristics was confirmed by selecting the WLTC mode. As a result, it was confirmed that the BSFC was about 5% lower than that of gasoline fuel when using LPG fuel. This is due to the active operation of the motor while driving. Optimization is required as battery consumption increases from an energy perspective.

플라이휘일 하이브리드 차량의 다경로 동력전달장치 연구 (A Study on Multi Pass Transmission System for a Flywheel Hybrid Vehicle)

  • In this paper, using MATLAB SIMULINK, a generalized design methodology was suggested for multi pass transmission(MPT) by classifying the vehicle power train as prime mover, MPT and vehicle dynamics. This approach enables a designer to investigate the influence of each transmission component by simple combination of system components without changes of overall program. Using the design methodology, a MPT consisting of CVT, 2, clutches and reduction gears was designed for a braking energy regenerative flywheel hybrid vehicle. The CVT is essential in order to connect the engine and flywheel speed with the vehicle speed. For the purpose of smooth clutch operation, control algorithm was suggested by introducing dead zone for the clutch engagement. Using the SIMULINK model, performance of the flywheel hybrid vehicle with MPT was investigated. It was observed from the simulation results that the MPT vehicle showed better fuel economy, 47% than that of AT vehicle, 27% than that of CVT vehicle for ECE-15 driving cycle. Especially destinct fuel efficiency improvement was obtained for city driving cycle requiring more frequent stop and start.

  • To analyze the correlation between drivetrain systems and to optimize the vehicle design with satisfying of the initial design objects, the performance sensitivity analysis through the iterative design procedure must be carried out. In this study, effects of the design parameters for the main components of the parallel type hybrid drivetrain system are analyzed by using the developed method of the vehicle performance simulation, and the basis of the optimal selection of the design parameters from the relation of design constraints and required performances is suggested. In driving control of the parallel hybrid vehicle, power split ratio is the most important factor, and the improved drivetrain system can be constructed through the only change of the algorithm for determination of the power spilt ratio, which is strongly applicable to the driving patterns and the environments. Therefore, Various techniques, such as the change of the weighting factors and the range extended algorithm, are suggested and evaluated in this paper.
