  • A magnetic levitation system with hybrid magnets, which is composed of permanent magnets and electromagnets, consumes less power than the conventional attraction type system. In this paper, we propose PID controller and PID-Fuzzy controller for hybrid magnet. We first present "constant gap" control technology with PID controller. Secondly, "zero power" control technology with PID-Fuzzy hybrid controller is presented.roller is presented.

Evaluation of Bond Strength for FRP Hybrid Bar According to Coating Methods using Silica Sands (규사 코팅 방법에 따른 FRP Hybrid Bar의 부착강도 평가)

  • In this study, we examined the bond performance of FRP Hybrid Bars. FRP Hybrid Bars are developed by wrapping glass fibers on the outside of deformed steel rebars to solve the corrosion problem. The surface of the FRP Hybrid Bars was coated with resin and silica sand to enhance its adhesion bonding performance with concrete. Various parameters, such as the resin type, viscosity, and size of the silica sand, were selected in order to find the optimal surface condition of the FRP Hybrid Bars. For the bonding test, FRP Hybrid Bars were embedded in a concrete block with a size of 200 mm3 and the maximum load and slip were measured at the interface between the FRP Hybrid Bar and concrete through the pull-out test. From the experimental results, the maximum load and bond strength were calculated as a function of each experimental variable and the resin type, viscosity and size of the silica sand giving rise to the optimal bond performance were evaluated. The maximum bond strength of the specimen using epoxy resin and No. 5 silica sand was about 35% higher than that of the deformed rebar.

  • FTTH service has been deployed since last year in the single dwelling unit environment. FTTH based on PON technology has many advantages in OPEX compared to FTTC solutions using the BBx. But this is not the case for the MDU environment where new wiring of the fiber cable in the customer premises network costs a lot of money. The purpose of Hybrid-FTTH is to overcome this problem by preserving the wiring environment of the customer premises environment in MDU but still guarantee the quality of service provided by FTTH. In this thesis, we present Hybrid-FTTH technology, especially focused on the DWDM-PON based Hybrid-FTTH technology and its development status.

  • The main theme of this present paper is to study ordered semigroups in the context of anti-hybrid interior ideals. The notion of anti-hybrid interior ideals in ordered semigroups is introduced. We prove that the concepts of ideals and interior coincide in some particular classes of ordered semigroups; regular, intra-regular, and semisimple. Finally, the characterization of semisimple ordered semigroups in terms of anti-hybrid interior ideals is considered.

Analytical study on hydrodynamic motions and structural behaviors of hybrid floating structure

  • In this study, a hybrid floating structure with cylinder was introduced to reduce the hydrodynamic motions of the pontoon type. The hybrid floating structure is composed of cylinders and semi-opened side sections to penetrate the wave impact energy. In order to exactly investigate the hydrodynamic motions and structural behavior of the hybrid floating structure under the wave loadings, integrated analysis of hydrodynamic and structural behavior were carried out on the hybrid floating structure. Firstly, the hydrodynamic analyses were performed on the hybrid and pontoon models. Then, the wave-induced hydrodynamic pressures resulting from hydrodynamic analysis were directly mapped to the structural analysis model. And, finally, the structural analyses were carried out on the hybrid and pontoon models. As a result of this study, it was learned that the hybrid model of this study was showed to have more favorable hydrodynamic motions than the pontoon model. The surge motion was indicated even smaller motion at all over wave periods from 4.0 to 10.0 sec, and the heave and pitch motions indicated smaller motions beyond its wave period of 6.5 sec. However, the hybrid model was shown more unfavorable structural behavior than the pontoon model. High concentrated stress occurred at the bottom slab of the bow and stern part where the cylinder wall was connected to the bottom slab. Also, the hybrid model behaved with the elastic body motion due to weak stiffness of floating body and caused a large stress variation at the pure slab section between the cylinder walls. Hence, in order to overcome these problems, some alternatives which could be easily obtained from the simple modification of structural details were proposed.

Experimental study on axial compressive behavior of hybrid FRP confined concrete columns

  • In this paper, the mechanical property of CFRP, BFRP, GFRP and their hybrid FRP was experimentally studied. The elastic modulus and tensile strength of CFRP, BFRP, GFRP and their hybrid FRP were tested. The experimental results showed that the elastic modulus of hybrid FRP agreed well with the theoretical rule of mixture, which means the property of hybrid composites are linear with the volumes of the corresponding components while the tensile strength did not. The bearing capacity, peak strain, stress-strain relationship of circular concrete columns confined by CFRP, BFRP, GFRP and hybrid FRP subjected to axial compression were recorded. And the confinement effect of hybrid FRP on concrete columns was analyzed. The test results showed that the bearing capacity and ductility of concrete columns were efficiently improved through hybrid FRP confinement. A strength model and a stress-strain relationship model of hybrid FRP confined concrete columns were proposed. The proposed stress-strain model was shown to be capable of providing accurate prediction of the axial compressive strength of hybrid FRP confined concrete compared with Teng et al. (2002) model, Karbhari and Gao (1997) model and Miyachi et al. (1999) model. The modified stress-strain model was also suitable for single FRP confinement cases and it was so concise in form and didn't have piecewise fitting, which would be easy for use in structural design.

  • Achieving realistic visual quality while maintaining optimal real-time rendering performance is a major challenge in evolving computer graphics and interactive 3D applications. Normal mapping, as a core technology in 3D, has matured through continuous optimization and iteration. Hybrid normal mapping as a new mapping model has also made significant progress and has been applied in the 3D asset production pipeline. This study comprehensively explores the hybrid normal techniques, analyzing Linear Blending, Overlay Blending, Whiteout Blending, UDN Blending, and Reoriented Normal Mapping, and focuses on how the various hybrid normal techniques can be used to achieve rendering performance and visual fidelity. performance and visual fidelity. Under the consideration of computational efficiency, visual coherence, and adaptability in different 3D production scenes, we design comparative experiments to explore the optimal solutions of the hybrid normal techniques by analyzing and researching the code, the performance of different hybrid normal mapping in the engine, and analyzing and comparing the data. The purpose of the research and summary of the hybrid normal technology is to find out the most suitable choice for the mainstream workflow based on the objective reality. Finite Element Analysis on the Strength Safety of a Hybrid Alarm Valve (복합알람밸브의 강도안전성에 관한 유한요소해석)

  • This paper presents the strength safety of a hybrid alarm valve by a finite element analysis. The stress and strain of a conventional hybrid alarm valve are calculated for the given maximum test pressure of 2MPa. Especially, the FEM computed maximum stress of a conventional hybrid valve is only 18.6% of yield strength, 370MPa. This means that the conventional valve is designed with a thick thickness of a valve structure. But, new hybrid alarm valve model, which is developed by optimized design method in this study, shows more low level of 43% in maximum stress and strain compared with that of a conventional hybrid valve. These results may recommend the reduction of a weight and a dimension for an optimized hybrid alarm valve.
