Hybrid Pilot System을 이용한 철도 오염토양 복원 (Remediation of Contaminated Railroad Soils using by Hybrid Pilot System)

  • In this study, we tested hybrid pilot system combined with soil vapor extraction and bioventing methods on the contaminated railroad soil. So, we found out the remediability and operating conditions. Air permeability(k) and gas phase(O$_2$/CO$_2$/VOCs) level trend are very important to determine the remediation rate of the contaminated sites. Throughout hybrid pilot test on different conditions, the range of air permeability(k) was 1985∼1194 darcy. The tests results in hybrid system was appropriate on this test sites, and the suitable injection air flow rate was 3.5㎥/hr. So, we suggested a basic data for the remediation and management of contaminated railroad soil.

악취폐가스의 세미파일럿 규모 하이브리드 공정 처리: Thiobacillus sp. IW 및 반송슬러지를 접종한 담체를 충전한 바이오필터와 광촉매반응기로 구성된 하이브리드시스템의 운전 (Semi-pilot Scaled Hybrid Process Treatment of Malodorous Waste Air: Performance of Hybrid System Composed of Biofilter Packed with Media Inoculated with Thiobacillus sp. IW and Return-sludge and Photocatalytic Reactor)

  • 퇴비공장 또는 공공시설에서 발생되는 악취폐가스의 대표적인 제거대상 오염원인 황화수소와 암모니아를 포함한 악취폐가스를 처리하기 위하여 여러 운전 조건 하에서 바이오필터와 광촉매반응기로 구성된 semi-pilot 하이브리드시스템을 운전하였다. 황화수소 및 암모니아를 동시 처리하는 바이오필터시스템에서는 황화수소의 처리성능과 다르게 암모니아의 처리성능은 암모니아만을 처리하는 바이오필터시스템보다 훨씬 떨어졌다. Semi-pilot 하이브리드시스템의 황화수소와 암모니아에 대한 제거효율은 각각 약 83% 및 약 65% 정도이었다. 따라서 semi-pilot 바이오필터시스템의 경우보다 황화수소 및 암모니아에 대한 제거효율은 각각 4 및 30% 정도 증가하였다. 또한 황화수소와 암모니아의 동시제거를 할 때에 황화수소와 암모니아의 최대 제거용량은 각각 약 60 및 $37g/m^3/h$이었다. 따라서 semi-pilot 바이오필터시스템의 경우보다 황화수소 및 암모니아에 대한 최대 제거용량은 각각 약 9.1%와 약 23.3% 증가하였다. 그러므로 본 semi-pilot 하이브리드시스템은 semi-pilot 바이오필터시스템을 기준으로 황화수소보다 암모니아의 제거율과 최대 제거용량 제고에 더욱 기여하였다.

복합오염물질 처리를 위한 Hybrid PRB System

  • A hybrid permeable reactive barriers(hybrid PRBs) composed of Fe(II) PRB, biological PRB and sorptive PRB was investigated to treat groundwater with multiple contaminations. We performed batch, column and pilot tests to determine removal rates and design parameters of each PRB media, and operated two hybrid PRB systems with pilot-scale barriers in series. The pilot test of the hybrid PRB system with the combination of Fe(II), biological media and black shale showed multiple contaminations could be removed in ground water. Nitrate could be treated below 20 mg/L and Cr(VI) was treated down to 0.05 mg/L. TCE was degraded below 0.001 mg/L in system. The hybrid PRB system with a proper combination of PRBs could remediate ground water with multiple contaminations.

Hybrid Control System for Managing Voltage and Reactive Power in the JEJU Power System

  • This paper proposes a hybrid voltage controller based on a hierarchical control structure for implementation in the Jeju power system. The hybrid voltage controller utilizes the coordination of various reactive power devices such as generators, switched shunt devices and LTC to regulate the pilot voltage of an area or zone. The reactive power source can be classified into two groups based on action characteristics, namely continuous and discrete. The controller, which regulates the pilot bus voltage, reflects these characteristics in the coordination of the two types of reactive power source. However, the continuous type source like generators is a more important source than the discrete type for an emergency state such as a voltage collapse, thereby requiring a more reactive power reserve of the continuous type to be utilized in the coordination in order to regulate the pilot bus voltage. Results show that the hybrid controller, when compared to conventional methods, has a considerable improvement in performance when adopted to control the pilot bus voltage of the Jeju island system.

Energy-efficient mmWave cell-free massive MIMO downlink transmission with low-resolution DACs and phase shifters

  • The mmWave cell-free massive MIMO (CFmMIMO), combining the advantages of wide bandwidth in the mmWave frequency band and the high- and uniform-spectral efficiency of CFmMIMO, has recently emerged as one of the enabling technologies for 6G. In this paper, we propose a novel framework for energy-efficient mmWave CFmMIMO systems that uses low-resolution digital-analog converters (DACs) and phase shifters (PSs) to introduce lowcomplexity hybrid precoding. Additionally, we propose a heuristic pilot allocation scheme that makes the best effort to slash some interference from copilot users. The simulation results show that the proposed hybrid precoding and pilot allocation scheme outperforms the existing schemes. Furthermore, we reveal the relationship between the energy and spectral efficiencies for the proposed mmWave CFmMIMO system by modeling the whole network power consumption and observe that the introduction of low-resolution DACs and PSs is effective in increasing the energy efficiency by compromising the spectral efficiency and the network power consumption.

마을단위 소규모 하·폐수처리 공정의 효율적 유지관리를 위한 전문가 시스템에 관한 연구 (An Innovative Expert System for the Maintenance of On-site Wastewater Treatment Process for Small-scale Residential and Commercial Sites)

  • The pilot test of a new alternative for small wastewater treatment system has been conducted for two years. It consists of a hybrid bioreactor and the expert system including the process control logic, PLC system, and HMI for the process automation. In order to monitor and remote control its status, the real-time data was transferred from the on-site control center to the central station via a wireless local area network. More efficient and stable performances were observed at automatic operating mode compared with the manual. On an average, COD, SS, T-N and T-P concentrations in the effluent from the hybrid bioreactor were less than 14, 7, 12 and 0.9 mg/L, respectively. According to the result from pilot tests, the quality of treated wastewater with sand filtration was enough to be utilized again.

극다중 안테나 셀룰러 시스템을 위한 파일럿 도약 기법 (Pilot Hopping Scheme for Massive Antenna Systems in Cellular Networks)

  • 본 논문에서, 극다중 안테나 시스템을 다중셀 환경에 적용하고 기지국의 안테나 수가 무한하다고 가정한 상태에서, 파일럿 오염으로 인해 제한된 시스템 용량을 개선하는 파일럿 도약 기법을 제안한다. 기존의 파일럿 고정 방식은, 각 사용자가 긴 시간 동안 동일한 Signal-to-interference ratio (SIR)를 얻게된다. 따라서, 약한 간섭을 받게 된 사용자는 지속적으로 SIR이 높은 반면에, 강한 간섭을 받게 된 사용자의 SIR은 지속적으로 낮아서 서비스의 질이 저하된다. 본 논문에서 제안한 파일럿 도약 기법에서는 매 타임 슬롯마다 다른 파일럿 신호를 사용하며, 이에 따라 매번 다른 양의 간섭을 받게 되므로, 매 타임 슬롯마다 SIR이 요동치게 된다. 이러한 채널에서 Hybrid Automatic Repeat & reQuest (HARQ) 기법을 적용할 경우에, 아웃티지 확률과 전송률의 개선 효과를 얻을 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 극다중 안테나 시스템에 파일럿 도약 기법을 적용 후, 체이스 결합 유형의 HARQ를 적용하고 시뮬레이션을 통하여 성능이 개선됨을 보인다.

가스상 물질의 농도변화를 이용한 오염토양 복원의 타당성 평가 (The Effective Evaluation of Soil Remediation Technology by Gas Phase Concentration Trend)

  • 디젤로 오염된 토양에서 토양증기추출(soil vapor extraction)과 생물학적통풍(bioventing)을 혼합한 파일럿 테스트를 실시하여 기술의 적용 가능성과 운전조건을 파악하였다. 본 연구에서는 오염된 지역의 복원율을 평가하는 중요한 인자인 공기투과도(air permeability)와 가스상 물질의 농도변화를 구하였다. 실험결과 공기투과도는 1985~1194 darcy로서 토양증기추출의 적용에 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 생물학적통퐁 실험에서는 실험결과 $3.5m^3/hr$의 유량으로 공기를 주입했을 때 미생물 활성도에 따른 생분해율이 가장 높았으며, 연구결과 이 지역과 같이 디젤로 오염된 지역에서 혼합형 시스템을 적용하는 것이 바람직할 것으로 판단된다.

  • The interest in wind power generation area such as developing and operating wind-diesel pilot complex in remote and island regions that have difficulty in having power plant and connecting to power system is growing rapidly in the world. We have installed and researched the hybrid system in Sekgok Pilot Complex to meet the new generation system. From the monitored data of the system, the performance of each diesel power plant is outstanding. However, step out problem was detected with respect to load sharing and synchronization with decentralized power supply. An advanced controller design having better response time and stability is needed to solve such problem. In this paper, we proposed the algorithm, through digital controller of Governor, which is applied to hybrid system. As a result, we obtained the stable frequency value in variable loading conditions. Also, we proved the advanced response time and stability through the simulation and experiment by applying additional current signal to the control algorithm.

  • Now for the first time in Korea pilot project on application of base isolation system to the RC building is carrying out by collaboration with KNHC and DRB dongil. The hybrid-type base isolation system, which is composed of sliding bearings and laminated rubber bearings and can make the resonance period of base isolated buildings comparatively long up to 4 or 5 seconds, is applied to this building. In this paper the overview of this project, the dynamic characteristics of this particular building and the response reduction effect against earthquakes are presented.
