Galvanized steel has gone through a chemical process to keep it from corroding. The steel gets coated in layers of zinc because rust will not attack this protective metal. For countless outdoor, marine, or industrial applications, galvanized steel is an essential fabrication component. The reduction of the corrosion rate of zinc is an important topic. In the past, a very popular way to reduce the corrosion rate of zinc was to use chemical conversion layers based on $Cr^{+6}$. However, a significant problem that has arisen is that the use of chromium salts is now restricted because of environmental protection legislation. Therefore, it is very important to develop new zinc surface treatments that are environmentally friendly to improve the corrosion resistance of zinc and adhesion with a final organic protective layer. In this study, a Urethane solution (only Urethane 20 wt.%; S-700) and an organic/inorganic solution with Si (Si polysilicate 10 wt.% + Urethane 10 wt.%; LRO-317) are used. Based on the salt spray test of 72 h, S-700 and LRO-317 had a superior effect for the corrosion resistance on EGI and HDGI, respectively.

In college, you can view the online quiz through the cyber education, and online learning. However, if there is no computer has a problem that can not be many students it is in place or not the Internet watch online quizzes. In recent years, many college students have a smart phone, from anywhere, using smartphone, you have utilized various Web surfing, news, and Messenger. In addition, office workers and students, have to learn to put to PDF necessary materials through the smartphone. Advantage of smart phones, have a feature that can be easy to carry and use anywhere at any time. Online learning from anywhere via a smart phone, so that you can see the online quizzes, in this paper, the system that not only online quizzes through a smartphone using the Hybrid-App, you can see in real time the results and scores of the person I proposed.
This study examined the effect of the uptake of one and two electrons on the atomic structure of three isomers of $C_{20}$ clusters, namely the ring, bowl (corannulene like), and cage (the smallest fullerene). Geometry optimizations were performed using the hybrid density functional (B3LYP) methods for neutral, singly and doubly charged $C_{20},\;{C_{20}}^-,and\;{C_{20}}^{2-}$. These results show that the symmetry of the lowest energies for ring and bowl isomers were not changed, whereas the increasing order of energy for the cage (the smallest fullerene) isomers was changed from $D_{2h}\;<\;C_{2h}\;{\leq}\;C_2\;of\;C_{20}\;through\;Ci\;<\;C_{2h}\;<\;C_2\;<\;D_{2h}\;of\;{C_{20}}^-\;to\;Ci\;<\;C_2\;<\;D_{2h}\;<\;C_{2h}\;of\;{C_{20}}^{2-}$. The reduced symmetry isomers of the cage have comparative energy and the ground state symmetry of the neutral and single and double charged $C_{20}$ decreased with increasing number of electrons taken up in the point of energetics. Interestingly, the difference in energy between the ground state and the next higher energy state of ${C_{20}}^{2-}$ was 3.5kcal/mol, which is the largest energy gap of the neutral, single anion and double anion of the cage isomers examined.

This study explored effective teaching-learning activities under the hybrid teaching model combining flipped learning, direct instruction, cooperative learning and distance learning. Subjects were 99 college students enrolled in 2 teacher preparation courses. Students evaluated effectiveness of 22 teaching-learning activities according to Likert scale at the end of the semester. As a result, all 22 teaching learning activities were considered effective more or less. They facilitated motivation, comprehension, participation, thinking, and led to mastery of the task. ② Activities scored low were 'questioning and answering at the beginning of online class', 'open book test'. ③ Hybrid teaching model was favored over traditional instruction. Open ended responses were consistent with the ones in the questionnaire. This research supports the notion that key teaching models to be combined for successful flipped learning in college setting are direct instruction and cooperative learning. Furthermore, effective and ineffective teaching strategies for flipped learning were found.
The study focuses on evaluating the bending creep performance of laminated veneer lumber (LVL) formwork in timber concrete composite (TCC) structures. Timber-framed construction is highlighted for its environmental benefits and seismic resistance, but limitations such as poor tensile strength and brittle failure in bending hinder its use in high-rise buildings. Wood-concrete hybrid structures, particularly those using reinforced concrete slabs with TCC floors, emerge as a potential solution. The research aims to understand the time-dependent behavior of TCC components, considering factors like wood and concrete shrinkage and connection creep. The experiment was conducted in western Japan on the TCC floor designed for use in the Kama-city Inatsuki-higashi compulsory education school. The LVL formwork, measuring 9,000 mm by 900 mm, and concrete is loaded onto it for testing. The creep test periods are examined using concrete loading. It employs a comprehensive creep analysis, adhering to Japanese standards, involving deflection measurements and regression analysis to estimate the creep coefficient. Results indicate substantial deformation after shoring removal, suggesting potential reinforcement needs. The study recommends extending test periods for improved accuracy and recognizing regional climate impacts. Overall, the research provides valuable insights into the potential of LVL formwork in TCC structures, emphasizing safety considerations and paving the way for further experimentation under varied conditions to validate structural integrity.
When the design profession started, design targets were mainly static hardware centered products. Due to the development of network and digital technologies, new products with dynamic and software-hardware hybrid interactive characteristics have become one of the main design targets. To accomplish the new projects, designers are required to learn new methods, tools and theories in addition to the traditional design expertise of visual language. One of the most important tools for the change is effective and rapid prototyping. There have been few researches on educational framework for interactive product or system prototyping to date. This paper presents a new model of educational contents and methods for interactive digital product prototyping, and it's application in a design curricula. The new course contents, integrated with related topics such as physical computing and tangible user interface, include microprocessor programming, digital analogue input and output, multimedia authoring and programming language, sensors, communication with other external devices, computer vision, and movement control using motors. The final project of the course was accomplished by integrating all the exercises. Our educational experience showed that design students with little engineering background could learn various interactive digital technologies and its' implementation method in one semester course. At the end of the course, most of the students were able to construct prototypes that illustrate interactive digital product concepts. It was found that training for logical and analytical thinking is necessary in design education. The paper highlights the emerging contents in design education to cope with the new design paradigm. It also suggests an alterative to reflect the new requirements focused on interactive product or system design projects. The tools and methods suggested can also be beneficial to students, educators, and designers working in digital industries.

The aim of this paper is to develop a network-based collaborative learning system based on cooperative learning, computer simulation, role playing, and web-based instruction, which is called NetClass. It is an educational system of hybrid-type, and supports three learning modes as a distributed network, a stand-alone system, or a web browser. To accomplish the purpose of this paper, we have studied on the following topics. First, we selected appropriate learning contents among dilemmas on information ethics. Second, a Collaborative Dilemma-solving Learning Model (CDLM) was designed, and this model means systematic procedures that leaners can notice others' feeling and thinking and predict the results of his actions by introducing interactions among learners on computer networks. Third, Collaborative Learning System Model based on standard architecture of an educational system was proposed. Fourth, we developed many components such as network components, database components, and interface components.
The COREA (COsmic ray Research and Education Array in Korea) project aims to build a ground array of particle detectors distributed over Korean Peninsular, through collaborations of high school students, educators, and university researchers, in order to study the origin of ultra high energy cosmic rays. COREA array will consist of about 2000 detector stations covering several hundreds of $km^2$ area at its final configuration and detect electrons and muons in extensive air-showers triggered by high energy particles. During the intial phase COREA array will start with a small number of detector stations in Seoul area schools. In this paper, we have studied by Monte Carlo simulations how to select detector sites for optimal detection efficiency for proton triggered air-showers. We considered several model clusters with up to 30 detector stations and calculated the effective number of air-shower events that can be detected per year for each cluster. The greatest detection efficiency is achieved when the mean distance between detector stations of a cluster is comparable to the effective radius of the air-shower of a given proton energy. We find the detection efficiency of a cluster with randomly selected detector sites is comparable to that of clusters with uniform detector spacing. We also considered a hybrid cluster with 60 detector stations that combines a small cluster with ${\Delta}{\iota}{\approx}100m$ and a large cluster with ${Delta}{\iota}{\approx}1km$. We suggest that it can be an ideal configuration for the initial phase study of the COREA project, since it can measure the cosmic rays with a wide range energy, i.e., $10^{16}eV{\leq}E{\leq}10^{19}eV$, with a reasonable detection rate.
Natural hazards like earthquakes, high winds, and tsunami are a threat all the time for multi-story structures. The environmental forces cannot be clogged but the structures can be prevented from these natural hazards by using protective systems. The structural control can be achieved by using protective systems like the passive, active, semi-active, and hybrid protective systems; but the semi-active protective system has gained importance because of its adaptability to the active systems and reliability of the passive systems. Therefore, a semi-active protective system for the earthquake forces has been adopted in this work. Magneto-Rheological (MR) damper is used in the structure as a semi-active protective system; which is connected to the current driver and proposed controller. The Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controller and reliable PID controller are two proposed controllers, which will actuate the MR damper and the desired force is generated to mitigate the vibration of the structural response subjected to the earthquake. PID controller and reliable PID controller are designed and tuned using Ziegler-Nichols tuning technique along with the MR damper simulated in Simulink toolbox and MATLAB to obtain the reduced vibration in a three-story benchmark structure. The earthquake is considered to be uncertain; where the proposed control algorithm works well during the presence of earthquake; this paper considers robustness to provide satisfactory resilience against this uncertainty. In this work, two different earthquakes are considered like El-Centro and Northridge earthquakes for simulation with different controllers. In this paper performances of the structure with and without two controllers are compared and results are discussed.

The effects of the orchid mycorrhizal fungi isolated from Cymbidium goeringii were investigated on the growth of orchid plants. The plants, a hybrid of Cymbidium kanran Jeju${\times}$C. kanran Nangoku and Phalaenopsis were inoculated with the fungal isolates of Rhizoctonia repens (P1), R. endophytica (P2) and R. repens (P3; different from P1) on the oatmeal agars for two months. Then the orchid plants were cultivated in the greenhouse for eighteen months. The difference of plant growth after cocultivation for two months was not found among the treatments. After cultivation for four months, the growth of hybrid plants of Cymbidium kanran Jeju${\times}$C. kanran Nangoku was observed to be distinguished in the Rhizoctonia repens (P1). After cultivation in the greenhouse for eighteen months, the plant height, the number of shoots, the number of leaves, the number of roots and plant fresh weight of the hybrid of Cymbidium kanran Jeju${\times}$C. kanran Nangoku, inoculated with Rhizoctonia repens (P1), were significantly increased compared to those of the control. The plants inoculated with Rhizoctonia repens (P3) were not different and the plants inoculated with R. endophytica were poor compared to the control. The plant height and fresh weight of the Phalaenopsis, inoculated with Rhizoctonia repens (P1), increased significantly compared to those of the control. Overall, Rhizoctonia repens (P1), was the most effective for the growth of a hybrid of Cymbidium kanran Jeju${\times}$C. kanran Nangoku.
