A hybrid DS/SFH spread spectrum system is used to achieve a larger gain in some applications. The probability of error for a hybrid DS/SFH(direct sequence/slow frequency hopped) spread-spectrum system is calculated over a channel which suffers from multiple-tone jamming and additive white Gaussian noise. BPSK(binary phase shift keying) is considered as modulation scheme. The probability of error is computed for various system parameters such as a DS/SFH hybrid ratio, the number of jamming tones, a jamming-to-signal ratio, and a siganl-to-noise ratio. It is shown that a DS system or a SFH system achieves smaller probability of error than a hybrid DS/SFH system for most values of system parameters. However, it is also shown that there are hybrid ratios with which a hybrid DS/SFH system achieves smaller probability of error than a DS system and a SFH system achieve for some values of system parameters.

In this paper, we analyzed the performance of a hybird DS/SFH(DirectSequencySlow FrequencyHopping) Spread Spectrum system with BFSK modulation over Nakagamim fading channel with multitone jamming. The performance of the system was improved when a frequency bowing rate increased. In case that process gain of hybrid DS/SFH Spread Spectrum system to be fixed, the hybrid DS/SFH Spread Spectrum takes the low bit error probability than a DS Spread Spectrum system. Also, when the fading index m increases, the fading effect decrease, when the JSR(jamming to signal power ratio) increases ,the performance of a hybrid DS/SFH Spread Spectrum system improved than DS Spread Spectrum system. The result, we have been proved that performance of a hybrid DS/SFH Spread Spectrum was superior to DS Spend Spectrum system over Nakagamim fading with tome jamming.

In this paper, the performance of a hybrid direct-sequence/slow-frequency-hoped (DS/SFH) spread-spectrum (SS) system with noncoherent DPSK modulation is considered. Th ebit error probability is derived ovef a rayleigh fading channel in the presence of multiple tone jamming. Numerical evaluations are presented for some combinations of system parameters. The performance of a hybrid DS/SFH SS system is shown to be inferior to that of a pure DS SS system at low jamming-to-signal power ratio (JSR). At high JSR, the performance of a pure DS SS system is shown to be the same as the worst case peformance of a hybrid DS/SFH SS system.

In this paper, performance of a hybrid direct-sequency/slow-frequency-hopped (DS/SFH) spread-spectrum (SS) system with coherent BPSK modulation is analyzed. The bit error probability is derived over a frequency=-selective rician fading channel in the presence of multiple tone jamming. The fading channel is modeled as the wide-sense stationary uncorrelated scattering (WSSUS) model. Numerical evaluations are presented for some combinations of system parameters. The performance of a hybrid DS/SFH SS system is shown to be inferior to that of a ure DS SS system at low jamming-to-signal power ratio (JSR). At high JSR, the performance of a pure DS SS system is shown to be the smae as the worst case performance of a hybrid DS/SFH SS system.

In this paper, the performance of a hybrid DS/SFH-SS(direct-sequence/slow-frequency-hopped spread-spectrum) system with coherent BPSK modulation over Nakagami fading channel in the presence of multiple tone jamming is analyzed. Because the Nakagami m-distribution can describe not only Rayleigh fading but also more general fluctuations involving a specular component by adjusting the value of the fading index m. It is known that for m=1 corresponds to Rayleigh fading, for $1/2{\le}m{\le}1$ corresponds to the worst case fading condition, for m>1 corresponds to Rician fading, and for $m{\to}{\infty}$ corresponds to the nonfading condition. The bit error probability is derived over Nakagami model and numerical evaluations are presented for some combinations of system parameters. The results show that as m increases, the bit error probability is better. Also, at a low JSR(jamming-to-signal power ratio), a pure DS-SS system can achieve lower bit error probability than a hybrid DS/SFH-SS system. But at a high JSR, a hybrid DS/SFH-SS system is shown to be superior to a pure DS-SS system. Therefore, it is demonstrated that without increasing the total system bandwidth, the performance of a hybrid DS/SFH-SS is superior to that of a pure DS-SS system in the presence of multiple tone jamming.

Performance analysis and comparison of the hybrid DS-SFH spread-spectrum (SS) system using coherent MSK and QPSK modulation techniques over Rayleigh fading channel are considered in the presence of MTJ(multi-tone jamming). To analyze the BER performance of the hybrid systems with or without the Rake receiver, signal-to-noise plus interference ratio is derived as a function of the average signal-to-noise ratio, the jammer-to-signal ratio and other system parameters. Numerical results show that the performance difference between the two modulation schemes, MSK and QPSK, is negligible for low JSR, while it becomes significant with the increase of JSR. In multi-path Rayleigh fading channel without Rake receiver, the performances of the two modulation schemes are slightly improved as the DS spreading gain is increased when the total SS bandwidth is fixed. In particular, there is an optimum DS spreading gain for large JSR, in which a minimum BER is achieved, while only DS spreading gives the best performance for small JSR. For hybrid systems with Rake receiver, it is shown that the hybrid system of the MSK modulation scheme provides better anti-jamming performance and larger performance improvement with the increase of multi-path resolution capability of Rake receiver than that of QPSK modulation for all conditions.

This paper presents an analytical evaluation of a hybrid direct-sequence/slow frequencyhopped code division multiple-access (DS/SFH-CDMA) system employing noncoherent M-ary frequency shift keying(MFSK) modulation in a multiple Nakagami fading (m) environment. Multipath interference (MPI) and multi-access interference (MAI) is taken into account and the spectral efficiency is calculated for uncoded as well as channel coding systems. Predetection multipath maximal ratio combining (MRC) diversity in conjunction with interleaved channel coding (Hamming(7,4) code, BCH(15, 7) code and RS (7, 4), (15, 9)) code ) is employed for improving the bit error rate (BER) performance. The BER of noncoherent hybrid system is obtained using a Gaussian interference approximation.

An error probability analysis is performed far a hybrid DS/SFH spread-spectrum system using minimum shift keying(MSK) modulation. The channel is assumed to be a Rayleigh fading channel with partial-band noise interference. Expressions are derived for the bit error rate(BER) in the context of Rician and Rayleigh fading channels, as a function of the average signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) $E_b/N_0$, the average signal-to- interference ratio(SJR) $E_b/N_J$, and channel parameters. As a result, in the fading channel with large Rician factor, K, which denotes the ratio of power of the direct and the diffused components, the partial-band interference is the worst case. On the other hand, in Rayleigh fading channel(K=0), the full-band interference($\rho$=1) brings the system to the worst case. Performance comparisons among various channels show that the factor K has much large effect on overall performance. For example, in conditions of $\rho$=0.1 and BER=$10^-2$, the system in Rician channel with K=10 requires more 1.9 dB SNR than that in AWGN channel, whereas it is less 5 dB SNR than that in the Rayleigh channel with K=0.

This paper presents an analysis of a hybrid direct-sequence/slow frequency hopped code division multiple access(DS/SFH-CDMA) system employing noncoherent M-ary frequency shift keying(MFSK) modulation in a multiple m-distribution fading environment. Multipath interfer- ence(MPI) and multiuser interference(MUI) is taken into accout and the spectral efficiency is calculated for uncoded as well as simple channel coding systems. The predetection multipath CCI canceller in conjunction with convolution coding is employed for improving the bit error rate(BER) performance. The BER of noncoherent hybrid system is obtained using a Gaussian interference approximation. From the results, we know that the error performance more deteriorates as the depth of fading becomes deeper. The DS part of the modulation combats the multipath interference, whereas the FH part is a predetection against large multiuser interference. It is shown that, for the con- sidered types of a channel coding, the use of a predetection coding is still essential for obtained a satisfactory bit error performance. The results show that the capacity of the DS/SFG-CDMA MFSK communication system increases in proportion to the length of PN code sequence in the presence of AWGN and MUI. In m-distribution fading environment the capacity increases in proportion to the fading index. The capacity is increased and error performance is improved when the CCI Canceller and Convolution code technique are adopted, respectively. From the results, it is known that the error performance of $4\times10^{-2}$ by adopting Canceller technique. Also convolutional coding technique is the improvement of error performance attains about $10^{-5}$ in code rate 1/2.

Performance analyses of hybrid DS-SFH spread-spectrum systems using coherent MSK and QPSK modulation techniques are considered over Rayleigh fading channel in the presence of multi-tone jamming. The BER equations for MSK and QPSK systems with non-diversity reception in the receiver are derived as the concept of average signal-to-noise power ratio E$\_$b//N$\_$0/ and jamming-to-signal power ratio JSR, and the performances is evaluated for various system parameters. The evaluation of performance is done between fading and nonfading system, and between MSK and QPSK system. Results show that the performances of two systems are similar in low JSR. However, MSK system outperforms QPSK system as JSR increases. Overall performances of two systems are a little improved as the DS spreading gain increases for the total spread-spectrum bandwidth fixed. The performance difference between fading system and nonfading system is similar in low E$\_$b//N$\_$0/, however, it becomes very largewith increase of E$\_$b//N$\_$0/..
