  • A vortical axis flywheel system was conceptualized, which uses a hybrid superconductor bearing set to carry the wheel part load. The multiple designs of magnetic bearing and superconductor bearing were analyzed by using conventional numerical magnetostatic analysis method The best medels were selected among four different types of Permanent magnet bearings for upper bearing and two types of superconductor bearing for lower bearing, respectively These results were discussed in regard of application to the flywheel system with a Passive hybrid magnetic bearing set.

Influence of aspect ratio and fibre orientation on the stability of simply supported orthotropic skew plates

  • In this paper, the influence of fibre orientation and aspect ratio on stability analysis of simply supported skew plates subjected to in plane loading is studied by using a four noded hybrid plate finite element. The formulation of the element is based on Hellinger-Reissner variational principle. The element is developed by combining a hybrid plane stress element and a hybrid plate element. Some numerical problems are solved and the effects of skew angle, aspect ratio, fibre orientation and loading type on the critical buckling loads are highlighted.

Static and free vibration behaviour of orthotropic elliptic paraboloid shells

  • In this paper the influence of aspect ratio, height ratio and material angle on static and free vibration behaviour of orthotropic elliptic paraboloid shells is studied by using a four-node hybrid stress finite element. The formulation of the element is based on Hellinger-Reissner variational principle. The element is developed by combining a hybrid plane stress element and a hybrid plate element. A parametric study is carried out for static and free vibration response of orthotropic elliptic paraboloid shells with respect to displacements, internal forces, fundamental frequencies and mode shapes by varying the aspect and height ratios, and material angle.

  • In this paper, a new speed control scheme for induction motor drives that regular sampled PWM and harmonic elimination switching pattern over the full range of output speed is presented. The proposed scheme(hybrid scheme) provides three mode and guarantees smooth voltage boost. A detailed description of the scheme, along with the relalization aspect, is described. Moreover, methods of compensating for dead time and optical transmission system of drive signal are proposed and investigated. Finally, experimental investigation of hybrid scheme is presented.

  • 최근 중앙경간 일부를 강박스 거더로 대체하여 자중을 감소시켜 중앙경간의 장경간화를 시도한 교량형식인 콘크리트-강 복합 엑스트라도즈드교는 기존 엑스트라도즈드 교량을 개선하기 위한 대안으로 제시되고 있다. 콘크리트-강 복합 엑스트라도즈드교는 자중 감소를 통해 중앙경간의 장경간화가 가능할 뿐 아니라 기존형식과 동일한 경우 주거더의 높이와 측경간을 감소시킬 수 있어 구조적 효율성이 매우 우수한 형식으로 평가되고 있다. 따라서 콘크리트-강 복합 엑스트라도즈드교에 대한 최적의 설계기법을 구축하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 콘크리트-강 복합 엑스트라도즈드교에 대한 주요 설계변수(주탑 높이, 주거더 높이 및 강상판 거더 길이)를 도출하고, 이를 바탕으로 설계변수별 수치해석과 그 결과를 이용한 설계변수별 민감도 분석을 실시하여 설계변수가 교량의 설계에 미치는 영향을 정량적으로 반영할 수 있는 설계가중값을 도출하였다.

동재하시험을 통한 긴장력이 도입된 콘크리트 충전 강관말뚝을 사용한 복합말뚝의 연직지지력 평가 (Estimation of Vertical Load Capacity of PCFT Hybrid Composite Piles Using Dynamic Load Tests)

  • PCFT말뚝의 하부에 PHC말뚝을 연결한 PCFT 복합말뚝에 대한 최적의 동재하시험 분석 방법을 도출하기 위하여 동일 현장에 시공된 강관 복합말뚝과 PCFT 복합말뚝에 대해 동재하시험을 실시한 후 CAPWAP분석 결과를 비교하였다. 그 결과 PCFT 복합말뚝에 대한 동재하시험 수행 시 변형률계와 가속도계는 상부 PCFT말뚝에서 강관을 제거한 후 내부 합성 PHC말뚝에 부착하는 것이 바람직하고, 이렇게 측정된 PCFT 복합말뚝의 입자 변위속도는 PHC말뚝 고유의 변형파 속도인 4,000m/sec과 동일하였다. 그리고 CAPWAP분석 시 PM과정을 통해 상부 PCFT말뚝의 재질을 PHC말뚝과 동일하게 하고 말뚝 단면적으로 콘크리트로 환산한 단면적을 사용했을 때 CAPWAP분석의 정확도가 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다.

하이브리드 몰드 변압기의 온도 특성 해석 (Temperature Characteristics Analysis of Hybrid Transformer)

  • In this paper, the temperature distribution of 400kVA hybrid transformer is predicted by using CFD analysis. The copper loss and iron loss which are heat source are calculated by using Joule heat and Bertotti's equation respectively. To improve the convergence of the numerical calculation and to reduce the computation time, the 1/4 model is used and the incompressible air model is used for external air. To verify analysis result, the temperature rise test and no-load test of the transformer are performed. The experiment result obtained by using thermo-graphic camera is similar to the numerical result of the CFD analysis.

  • Recently, hybrid concrete structures such as a concrete-filled steel tubular(CFT), a steel reinforced concrete(SRC) and a composite material are popular in structure applications. They also have merit of high strength, high ductility, and large energy absorption capacity. But the analysis of hybrid concrete structures is very difficult owing to the complex behavior of concrete under passive confinement. This paper has analyzed CFT, which receives passive confinement using Tri-Surface concrete model for three dimension finite element analysis. By the result of that, the proposed model was properly forecasted a concrete behavior that receives passive restraint as well as non-linear analysis of concrete which receive uniaxial stress and high active confinement of 400Mpa. If the model through the steady study is set up especially on the factor of concrete under passive confinement, the proposed concrete model will be surely useful for analysis of the hybrid concrete structures.

몬테 카를로 시뮬레이션을 이용한 하이브리드 로켓의 신뢰성 분석 (Reliability Analysis of Hybrid Rocket using Monte-Carlo Simulation)

  • In this study, probabilistic reliability analysis was conducted for hybrid rocket performance using Monte-Carlo Simulation. For the accuracy, reliability analysis was performed with experimental data. To simplify the analysis process, the oxidizer was supplied with constant pressure, so that pressure variation with time can be eliminated. And time-space averaged regression rate model was used. The regression rate is obtained with a series of experiments. For reliability analysis of thrust, constant exponent of regression rate is assumed that has probabilistic character. So, the efficiency of characteristic velocity has also probabilistic values. As a results, probability distribution of the thrust is obtained by Monte-Carlo simulation using random samples of the input parameter and validated under the 95% confidence level.

Nonlinear finite element analysis of torsional R/C hybrid deep T-beam with opening

  • A nonlinear finite element analysis of R/C hybrid deep T-beam with web opening subjected to pure torsion is presented. Hexahedral 8-nodes and space truss element were used for modeling concrete and reinforcement. The reinforcement was assumed perfectly bonded to the corresponding nodes of the concrete element. The constitutive relations for concrete and reinforcement are based on the modified field theory and elastic perfectly plastic. The smear crack approach was adopted for modeling the crack. The torque-twist angle relationship curve based on the finite element analysis was compared to the experimental results. The comparison shows that the curve of torque-twist angle predicted by the nonlinear finite element analysis is linear before cracking and close to the experimental result. After cracking, the curve becomes nonlinear and stiffer compared to the experimental result.
