4-Pivaloyloxy, 4-benzenesulfonyloxy and 4-p-toluenesulfonyloxy compounds of piroxicam (2a, 2b and 2c) and isoxicam(4a, 4b and 4c) were synthesized in fairly good yield. Antiinflammatory and ulcerogenic effects of the 6 compounds were determined. Antiinflammatory effect of 2a was comparable to that of piroxicam and ulcerogenic effect of 2a was less than that of piroxicam.

The germination of Lactuca sativa seeds was significantly inhibited by the water extract of the fresh leaves of Pulsatilla koreana N. including abundant ranunculin. Germination inhibitory activity increased in a dose-dependantly. Protoanemonin, produced from ranunculin by enzymatic action during maceration process of leaves, was proved to be the active principle with inhibitory activity was above 90% at concentration of 1 mg/ml.

본 연구에서는 QuickBird 도심지역 영상을 이용하였으며, 텍스쳐영상생성기법과 웨이브릿 기법을 이용하여 생성시킨 웨이브릿 기반 텍스쳐 융합 영상(이하 융합영상)을 원본영상의 새로운 밴드로 추가시켜 분류작업을 수행하였다. 이외에도 비교분석을 위하여 원본영상에 텍스쳐 영상을 추가시킨 영상과, 텍스쳐와 융합영상을 모두 추가시킨 영상을 이용하여 분류작업을 수행하였다. 분류에는 ISODATA 무감독분류 기법을 사용하였으며, 텍스쳐 영상과 융합영상을 같이 추가시킨 영상을 이용하였을 때 분류정확도가 가장 많이 향상되는 것으로 나타났다.

We propose a class of hierarchical Bayes estimators of the error variance under the relative squared error loss in balanced fixed-effects two-way analysis of variance models. Also we provide analytic expressions for the risk improvement of the hierarchical Bayes estimators over multiples of the error sum of squares. Using these expressions we identify a subclass of the hierarchical Bayes estimators each member of which dominates the best multiple of the error sum of squares which is known to be minimax. Numerical values of the percentage risk improvement are given in some special cases.

A position control system using hydraulic cylinder is modeled as a nonlinear system. In order to control this nonlinear system, in this paper, the fuzzy PID control technique which has time-varying control parameters is adopted. In this study, an exclusive sensor to detect the position of hydraulic cylinder is used, which is embeded in hydraulic cylinder.
