For the first step on the quantitative evaluation of shrinkage reduction and differential shrinkage analysis of lightweight aggregate concrete, this study sets the moisture transport model of concrete by pre-absorbed water of porous lightweight aggregates and measured effective moisture diffusion coefficient, moisture capacity, degree of humidity supply and degree of humidity consumption by water binder ratio and aggregate type. The effective moisture diffusion coefficient in steady state caused by humidity difference between inside and outside of concrete had low value as low water-binder ratio. And in case of same water-binder ratio, effective moisture diffusion of mixtures used normal aggregates were lower than those used lightweight aggregates. To determine moisture store capability of concrete - moisture capacity, moisture contents were measured in 9 humidity conditions. As a result moisture contents of mixtures used lightweight aggregates was higher than mixtures used normal aggregates in all humidity conditions. This study measured lightweight aggregates' degree of humidity supply that applicable to normal atmospheric environment (above RH 50%) and made it quantitatively. Also amount of moisture release was set as a exponential function that represents a clear trend proportion to time and inverse proportion to humidity of the surroundings. As the result of measurement about degree of moisture consumption inside concrete following the internal consumption caused by cement hydration self-drying, it was showed that rapid decrease of humidity, around 10%, at early ages (7~10 days) when water-binder ratio is 0.3 and slow decrease around 5% and 1% when water-binder ratio is 0.4 and 0.5.
This study were performed on roadside buffer green in Songpa-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul in order to analyze the anion concentration according to the type of composition of roadside buffer green. Buffer green separating the physical structure of the measurement points and measurement locations were separated by roadside, green interior, the other side of the road. planting density and deposit of trees per each buffer green was measured in the order of mounding type> slope type> the plain type. If the measured temperature of the location-specific weather elements roadside> inside> the other side of the road in order of measurement and the temperature is lowered farther away from the road. If the relative humidity of the road on the other side> inside> the roadside in order to measure and this is the opposite of the temperature tendency. According to physical structure reduction of the temperature on the other side of the road and roadside in order of mounding type> the plain type> slope type was measured. As a result of measuring a anion therefore concentration of the anion inside of melt is in order of mounding type> the plain type> slope type, tended to match the melt characteristics. According to measured positions anion concentration is in the order of the other side of the road> inside> the roadside was measured. As a result of correlation analysis, in the case of measurement location-specific weather and anions the temperature is positive correlation, relative humidity is negative correlation and that's results of previous studies were supported.

Contact type sensors (e.g., displacement sensor and strain gauge) were typically used to evaluate the safety and mechanical properties in machines and construction. However, those contact type sensors have been constrained because of measurement problems such as surface roughness, temperature, humidity, and shape. The Digital Image Correlation (DIC) measurement system is a vision measurement system. This measurement system uses the taken image using a CCD camera and calculates the image correlation between the reference image and the deformed image under external force to measure the displacement and strain rates. In this paper, we discuss methods to improve the measurement precision of the digital image correlation measurement system. A tensile test was conducted to compare the precision improvement effects, by using the universal test machine and the DIC measurement system, with the use of subpixel algorithms, i.e., the Coarse Fine Search (CFS) algorithm and the Peak Finding (PF) algorithm.

As a part of basic research to improve screen quality, which deteriorates when strain occurs within optical sheets in LCD modules for laptop computers, a measurement system is needed to analyze the influence of heat and moisture, which are the main factors causing the strain. It is assumed that the existence of an air gap less of than 0.5 mm inside the LCD module causes humid air from outside to permeate through the module. To investigate this phenomenon, in this study a thin printed circuit board (PCB) of compact sensors that measure temperature and humidity is inserted into LCD modules, and thus, the changes in temperature and humidity can be analyzed in real time. The results can be used as basic data for simulation of the deformation behavior and structural design of LCD modules in the future.

In this paper, a gelatin layer was formed on the surface of the twisted fiber-optic couplers fabricated by hydrofluoric acid, which can be used to measure relative humidity. The proposed method of sensors has advantage of low cost compared with the sensors based on the conventional electronic devices and takes beneficial characteristics of optical fibers and light. The fiber-optic sensors presented in this study show a measurement from about 40% to 85% relative humidity, and the experimental results agree well with the calculated results. Based on the design presented in this paper, the structure will enable promising applications in the detecting humidity and various hazardous gases.
Present weather plays an important role not only for atmospheric sciences but also for public welfare and road safety. While the widely used state-of-the-art visibility and present weather sensor yields present weather, a single type of measurement is far from perfect to replace long history of human-eye based observation. Truly automatic present weather observation enables us to increase spatial resolution by an order of magnitude with existing facilities in Korea. 8 years of human-eyed present weather records in 19 sites over Korea are compared with visibility sensors and auxiliary measurements, such as humidity of AWS. As clear condition agrees with high probability, next best categories follow fog, rain, snow, mist, haze and drizzle in comparison with human-eyed observation. Fog, mist and haze are often confused due to nature of machine sensing visibility. Such ambiguous weather conditions are improved with empirically induced criteria in combination with visibility and humidity. Differences between instrument manufacturers are also found indicating nonstandard present weather decision. Analysis shows manufacturer dependent present weather differences are induced by manufacturer's own algorithms, not by visibility measurement. Accuracies of present weather for haze, mist, and fog are all improved by 61.5%, 44.9%, and 26.9% respectively. The result shows that automatic present weather sensing is feasible for operational purpose with minimal human interactions if appropriate algorithm is applied. Further study is ongoing for impact of different sensing types between manufacturers for both visibility and present weather data.

Several samplers using gravimetric methods such as high-volume air sampler, MiniVol portable sampler, personal environmental monitor(PEM) and cyclone were applied to determine the concentrations of fine particles in atmospheric condition. Comparative evaluation between high-volume air sampler and Minivol portable sampler for $PM_{10}$, and between Minivol portable sampler and PEM was undertaken from June, 2003 to January 2004. Simultaneously, meteorological conditions such as wind speed, wind direction, relative humidity and temperature was measured to check the factors affecting the concentrations of fine particles. In addition, particle concentrations by cyclone with an aerodynamic diameter of $4{\mu}m$ were measured. Correlation coefficient between highvolume air sampler and portable air sampler for $PM_{10}$ was 0.79 (p<0.001). However, the mean concentration for $PM_{10}$ by high-volume air sampler was significantly higher than that by Minivol portable sampler (p=0.018). Correlation coefficient between Minivol portable sampler and PEM for $PM_{2.5}$ as 0.74 (p<0.001), and the measured mean concentrations for $PM_{2.5}$ did not show significant difference. Difference of the measured concentrations of fine particle might be explained by wind speed and humidity among meteorological conditions. Particle concentration differences by measurement samplers were proportional to the wind speed, but inversely proportional to the relative humidity, though it was not a significant correlation.

For a vertical atmospheric aerosol distribution measurement, a very compact and light particle sampling package is developed. This package includes a compact optical particle counter (Hy-OPC), a light and small condensation particle counter (Hy-CPC), sensors (GPS, wind velocity, temperature, humidity), and a communication and system control board. This package is attached to He balloon and the altitude is controlled by a winch. Using this system the vertical particle size distribution was measured. The test results showed that the ground base atmospheric particle measurement result may be a lot different from that high above the ground.

Two field test installations are discussed. In the first one a new ammonia sensor and an accurate ventilation rate sensor are combined. They are installed in the exhaust chimney in a ventilated pig house. The relative humidity and the room temperature are measured as well. In the second one, an in situ NH$_3$longrightarrowNO converter with subsequent NOx analyser is also being added for accurate ammonia measurement . In this way , the continuous measurement of the total NH$_3$emission can be obtained , the performance of the NH$_3$ sensor can be evaluated, and the ammonia reduction techniques can be tested. The outputs of measurement are fed into a data acquisition system then to a PC in the laboratory. There has been realised the first test installation with which research on the new ammonia sensor is carried out. The primary research results are presented.
