  • Vector quantization has shown to be useful for compressing data related with a wide rnage of applications such as image processing, speech processing, and weather satellite. Neural networks of images this paper propses a efficient neural network learning algorithm, called learning count control algorithm based on the frquency sensitive learning algorithm. This algorithm can train a results more codewords can be assigned to the sensitive region of the human visual system and the quality of the reconstructed imate can be improved. We use a human visual systrem model that is a cascade of a nonlinear intensity mapping function and a modulation transfer function with a bandpass characteristic.

칼라 좌표계에서의 디지털 워크마킹 (Digital Watermarking on the Color coordinate)

  • CIELAB 좌표계는 휘도 성분과 색도 성분으로 구성되므로 인간의 시각적 특성과 유사한 좌표계이다. 그런데 우리가 보통 일상 생활에서 접하는 컴퓨터화면 등은 RGB좌표계를 이용한 색상을 표현한다. 본 논문에서는 인간의 시각적 특성을 이용하여 보다 더 비가시적이고 효과적인 컬러 정지 영상의 디지털 워터마킹 기법을 제안한다. RGB 좌표계는 세 가지 색도 성분만으로 구성되므로, RGB 좌표계로 이루어진 원본 컬러 영상을 CIELAB 좌표계로 변환한 후, 변환된 CIELAB 좌표계 에서 색도 성분 중 하나인 a* 영역을 DFT 변환하여 주파수 처리한 워터마크를 삽입하는 방법이다.

웨이브릿 영상 압축을 위한 인간 시각 가중 양자화기의 설계 (A design of visual weighted quantizer for wavelet image compression)

  • In this paper, a wavelet image compression method using human visually estimated quantizer is proposed. The quantizer has three components. These are constructed by using effects of frequency band, background luminance, and spatial masking. The first quantization factor is a fixed constant value for each band. The second factor is calculated by averaging four wavelet coefficients in the lowest frequency band. The third factor is determined by the difference between wavelet coefficients in the lowest frequency band. Arithmetic coding is used for encoding quantized wavelet coefficients. Coefficients in the lowest band are transmitted without loss. Therefore the compressed image is decompressed by using three quantization factors which can be calculated in the receiver. Compared with previous image compression methods which adopted human visual system, the proposed method shows improved results with less computational cost.

  • Because Image on the CRT change under different illuminants, human is difficult to see original color of object. If what is information of used illuminant on capturing object know, image can be transformed according to viewing condition using the linear matrix method. To know information of used illuminant at an image, the spectral radiance of illuminant can be estimated using the linear model of Maloney and Wandell form an image. And then image can be properly transformed it using color appearance model. In this paper, we predict the spectral radiance of illuminant using spectral power distribution of specular light and using surface spectral reflectance at maximum gray area. and then we perform visual experiments for the corresponding color reproduction according to viewing condition. In results, we ensure that the spectral radiance of illuminant at an image can be well estimated using above algorithms and that human visual system is 70% adapted to the monitor's white point and 30% to ambient light when viewing softcopy images.

  • In this paper, we present a video rate control scheme for storage and delivery in which the time-varying viewing interests are controlled by human gaze. To track the gaze, the pupil's movement is detected using the three-step process : detecting face region, eye region, and pupil point. To control bit rates, the quantization parameter (QP) is changed by considering the static parameters, the video object priority derived from the pupil tracking, the target PSNR, and the weighted distortion value of the coder. As results, we achieved human interfaced visual model and corresponding region-of-interest rate control system.

  • Artificial intelligence is evolving rapidly in the ICT field, smart convergence media system and content industry through the fourth industrial revolution, and it is evolving very rapidly through Big Data. In this paper, we propose a face recognition method based on object recognition based on object recognition through artificial intelligence. In this method, Were experimented and studied through the object recognition technique of artificial intelligence. In the conventional 3D image field, general research on object recognition has been carried out variously, and researches have been conducted on the side effects of visual fatigue and dizziness through 3D image. However, in this study, we tried to solve the problem caused by the quantitative difference between object recognition and object recognition for human factor algorithm that measure visual fatigue through cognitive function, morphological analysis and object recognition. Especially, The new method of computer interaction is presented and the results are shown through experiments.

Near-body Interaction Enhancement with Distance Perception Matching in Immersive Virtual Environment

  • As recent virtual reality technologies provide a more natural three-dimensional interactive environment, users naturally learn to explore space and interact with synthetic objects. The virtual reality researcher develops a technique that realizes realistic sensory feedback to get appropriate feedback to sense input behavior. Although much recent virtual reality research works extensively consider the human factor, it is not easy to adapt to all new virtual environment contents. Among many human factors, distance perception has been treated as very important in virtual environment interaction accuracy. We study the experiential virtual environment with the feature of the virtual object connected with the real object. We divide the three-dimensional interaction, in which distance perception and behavior have a significant influence, into two types (whole-body movement and direct manipulation) and analyze the real and virtual visual distance perception heterogeneity phenomenon. Also, we propose a statistical correction method that can reduce a near-body movement and manipulation error when changing the interaction location and report the experiment results proving its effectiveness.

Improved Feature Extraction of Hand Movement EEG Signals based on Independent Component Analysis and Spatial Filter

  • In brain computer interface (BCI) system, the most important part is classification of human thoughts in order to translate into commands. The more accuracy result in classification the system gets, the more effective BCI system is. To increase the quality of BCI system, we proposed to reduce noise and artifact from the recording data to analyzing data. We used auditory stimuli instead of visual ones to eliminate the eye movement, unwanted visual activation, gaze control. We applied independent component analysis (ICA) algorithm to purify the sources which constructed the raw signals. One of the most famous spatial filter in BCI context is common spatial patterns (CSP), which maximize one class while minimize the other by using covariance matrix. ICA and CSP also do the filter job, as a raw filter and refinement, which increase the classification result of linear discriminant analysis (LDA).

JPEG 압축에 견고한 디지털 워터마킹 (Robust Digital Watermarking to JPEG Compression)

  • 디지털 워터마킹은 디지털 컨텐츠의 저작권을 보호하기 위한 중요한 기술로 취급되어 오고 있다. 삽입되는 워터마크는 압축, 필터링에서 cropping에 이르기까지 다양한 공격에 대하여 견고하여야 한다. 특히, JPEG은 인터넷 응용을 위한 뛰어난 정지 영상 압축 표준이기 때문에 JPEG 압축에 견관 디지털 워터마킹 기법이 특별히 요구된다. 지금까지 제안된 대부분의 디지털 워터마킹 기법은 JPEG의 품질수준(quality level)을 고려하지 않고 픽셀이나 계수를 변조하여 처리한다. 이것은 워터마크의 제거가 쉽게 이루어진다. 본 논문에서는 JPEG 압축시에 발생되는 영상의 손실을 계산하기 위해 JPEG 압축의 품질 계수를 워터마크 삽입 시의 파라메터로써 이용하여 JPEG 압축에 의한 차를 계산한다. 인간 시각의 성질 중에서 밝기 차의 식별력을 고려함과 동시에 영상의 에지 정보를 이용한 시각 성분을 계산한다. 이와 같이 JPEG 압축에 의한 영상의 손실과 인간의 시각 성질을 고려한 워터마크를 구성한 후에 영상에 삽입하는 새로운 디지털 워터마킹 기법을 제안한다.

MPEG-7 질감 기술자 (MPEG-7 Texture Descriptor)

  • 본 논문에서는 MPEG-7 표준 비쥬얼 분야 기술자에게 영상의 질감 정보의 표현 방법에 대해 다룬다. 질감 기술자는 멀티미디어 컨텐츠 표현에 대한 국제 표준에서 칼라, 윤곽, 객체나 카메라 움직임 등과 함께 중요한 비쥬얼 특징으로 다루어지고 있으며 표준화의 대상이 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 현재 MPEG-7 표준안으로 잠정 채택된 휴먼 비쥬얼 시스템(Human Visual System, HVS)에 기반한 질감 기술자에 대하여 논한다. 이 방법은 라돈(Radon) 변환을 통하여 영상을 시각인지 특성에 맞게 변환하고, 뇌의 비쥬얼 피질(Visual Cortex)의 반응과 일치하게 다수개의 주파수 채널들로 질감을 분해한다. 그리고 각 채널들에서의 평균 에너지와 에너지의 편차가 영상의 질감 기술자로 추출한다. 본 논문에서 질감 영상 검색에 있어서 현재 MPEG-7 실험 데이터베이스인 T1∼T7에서 검색 율을 측정하였다. 실험결과 본 영상 질감 기술자 표현 방법은 모든 실험 데이터베이스에서 우수한 검색 성능과 빠른 특징 추출 능력을 보였다.
