  • Under social changes focusing diversification, human-oriented ecological values and emotional and pscyhological satisfaction have been considered more important in space. Such trend has developed into interest in the effect of architectural space and shape on human perception and consciousness, and space has been considered as interactive in ecological, psychological and behavioral, and aesthetic terms rather than physical environment. In particular, exhibition space where interactive sympathy between environment and users through emotional experiences is more important, can have appropriate interaction through intended relationships between environment and humans in space. Therefore, this study aims to understand affordance, an internal mechanism of space recognition and human behaviors. Then it analysed representative types of exhibition space for emotional experiences as a characteristic of affordance Based on the results analysed, it is expected that introduction of affordance as real information in space will be helpful for effective connection of space with human emotional experiences.

A Study on how chromatic adaption affects human visual performance of display

  • We studied the human visual performance with PDP and LCD to clarify the relationships between viewer preference and chromatic adaption. In this paper, optical performance of the display is measured mechanically based on standard. The human visual performance about the display color image quality trough optical process is represented numerically based on CIECAM02. By comparing these results with the result of the questionnaire, performance of the display can be evaluated in detail.

A Spatial-Temporal Three-Dimensional Human Pose Reconstruction Framework

  • Three-dimensional (3D) human pose reconstruction from single-view image is a difficult and challenging topic. Existing approaches mostly process frame-by-frame independently while inter-frames are highly correlated in a sequence. In contrast, we introduce a novel spatial-temporal 3D human pose reconstruction framework that leverages both intra and inter-frame relationships in consecutive 2D pose sequences. Orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP) algorithm, pre-trained pose-angle limits and temporal models have been implemented. Several quantitative comparisons between our proposed framework and recent works have been studied on CMU motion capture dataset and Vietnamese traditional dance sequences. Our framework outperforms others by 10% lower of Euclidean reconstruction error and more robust against Gaussian noise. Additionally, it is also important to mention that our reconstructed 3D pose sequences are more natural and smoother than others.

  • 4-(4-Methoxyphenyl)-2-aminothiazole and 3-(4-methoxyphenyl)-5-aminothiadiazole derivatives have been synthesized and evaluated as selective antagonists for human adenosine A$_3$ receptors. A methoxy group in the 4-position of the phenyl ring and N-acetyl or propionyl substitutions of the aminothiazole and aminothiadiazole templates displayed great increases of binding affinity and selectivity for human adenosine A$_3$ receptors. The most potent A$_3$ antagonist of the present series, N-[3-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-[1,2,4]thiadiazol-5-yl]-acetamide exhibiting a K$\_$i/ value of 0.79 nM at human adenosine A$_3$ receptors, showed antagonistic property in functional assay of cAMP biosynthesis involved in one of the signal transduction pathways of adenosine A$_3$ receptors.   • Social robots, which are mainly used by individuals, emphasize the importance of human-robot relationships (HRR) more compared to other types of robots. Emotional expression in robots is one of the key factors that imbue HRR with value; emotions are mainly expressed through the face. However, because of cultural and preference differences, the desired robot facial expressions differ subtly depending on the user. It was expected that a robot facial expression customization tool may mitigate such difficulties and consequently improve HRR. To prove this, we created a robot facial expression customization tool and a prototype robot. We implemented a suitable emotion engine for generating robot facial expressions in a dynamic human-robot interaction setting. We conducted experiments and the users agreed that the availability of a customized version of the robot has a more positive effect on HRR than a predefined version of the robot. Moreover, we suggest recommendations for future improvements of the customization process of robot facial expression.

Study on the Concept of Monarch-fire(君火) and Ministerial-fire(相火) in Zhu Dan-Xi(朱丹溪)'s Ministerial-fire Theory(相火論) (주단계(朱丹溪) 상화론(相火論)의 군화(君火) 상화(相火)의 개념에 대한 고찰)

  • Objectives : In ministerial-fire theory(相火論) of Zhu Dan-Xi(朱丹溪), the meanings of monarch-fire(君火) and ministerial-fire(相火) described in papers published nowadays are not the same. Therefore, it is necessary to rebuild a clear concept. Methods : To understand the relationships among 'heaven(天)'-'human(人)' and 'name(名)'-'position(位)', the core concept of the ministerial-fire theory(相火論) of Zhu Dan-Xi(朱丹溪), I examined the relationships between 'heaven(天)' and 'human(人)' in Neo-Confucianism(性理學) of Song(宋) Dynasty and reviewed the notes of Wang Bing(王冰) which were quoted by Zhu Dan-Xi(朱丹溪) to set the concept of monarch-fire(君火) and ministerial-fire(相火). I studied relevant texts. Results : In ministerial-fire theory(相火論) of Zhu Dan-Xi(朱丹溪), monarch-fire(君火) is perceived as being from greed(人欲) that can cause hyperactivity(妄動) of ministerial-fire(相火), whereas ministerial-fire(相火) is perceived as being able to control monarch-fire(君火) by following the orders from heaven. This point of view is different from the past which recognized monarch-fire (君火) as the owner and ministerial-fire(相火) as the servant. Conclusions : Zhu Dan-Xi(朱丹溪) received the ideological impact of Neo-Confucianism, and accepted the notes of Wang Bing, recognized monarch-fire(君火) as 'name(名)' and ministerial-fire(相火) as 'position(位)', so he voiced the ministerial-fire theory(相火論) that perceived monarch-fire(君火) as fire(火) of the five processes(五行) of human body that came from greed, ministerial-fire(相火) as being in a position to hear the order from the 'heaven(天)' to control monarch-fire(君火). But the concept of ministerial-fire(相火) which he set connoted a confusing meaning of 'nature(性)' and 'way(道)' of Neo-Confucianism. In the later process to solve the problem, life-gate theory(命門學說) was raised, and many researchers had tried to remove the meaning of hyperactivity from the ministerial-fire(相火).

Bio-mechanic Hypothesis of Truncus Area Based on Pyobon and Geungyul Theory (표본, 근결 이론에 나타난 체간부위에 대한 생체역학적 연구 가설)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to understand truncus area conception to be explained in the pyobon and geungyul (Root-Stem and Origin-End relationships; PG) of meridian theory as to do the macro organic spatial conception in bio-mechanic system for human body. Methods : The extremity areas and truncus area to be explained in PG theories were classified spatially, and the reason was discussed that human body was classified as the extremities and truncus areas for the people of old times. It was considered the structural characteristics, exercise species and movement characteristics of truncus area in human body also. Results : The truncus area were made of cranium, vertebrae, sternum, ribs, clavicle, scapula, sacrum and the hipbone. It was the hollow structure and classified as cranial cavity, pleural cavity(thoracic cavity) and pelvic cavity. These cavities had mutually organic relationships, and because of cavity structures in the truncus and full structures in extremities would act in different direction about gravity with each other for movements. So it would be estimated that the old peoples had to need to separate the truncus and the extremities. Conclusions : In this study, the truncus area and the extremity areas in the PG of meridian theory could be recognized as the spatial conception of bio-mechanic system in human body. Although this study was the theoretical study not to be proven, it will be used to understand for the meridian theory as basic reference for spatial conception and bio-mechanic system.

  • This paper introduces the basic concept of computational modeling of perception processes for multimedia data. Such processes are modeled as hierarchical inter-and relationships amongst information in physical, physiological, psychological and cognitive layers in perception. Based on our framework, this paper gives the , algorithms for content-based retrieval for multimedia database systems.

  • 정보기술을 이용하면 도서관의 종이자료가 전자자료로 바뀌면서 기계화 되므로 문헌봉사는 비사서가 하게 되거나 이용자들이 손수봉사(Self-serveice) 하게 된다. 전문 사서는 인간을 대상으로 봉사하게 되므로 인간관계가 중요하게 대두된다. 도서관의 인간관계는 합리적이고 사무적이며 협동하게 되나 상호작용보다는 커뮤니케이션이 강조된다.
