  • What is learning in the math classroom? Does a new term need to be coined for learning? Is the term over-used and it has lost it meaning? The responses of one hundred four teacher candidates and graduate students were coded using the five levels researcher designed rubric which was modeled after Bloom's Taxonomy for depth of knowledge. The effects of understanding learning include the preparation of lesson plans, classroom instruction, the guiding of student learning, and the professional development of teacher leaders.

  • In this paper, we propose intelligent fire learning and detection system using hybrid visual attention mechanism of human. Proposed fire learning system generates leaned data by learning process of fire and smoke images. The features used as learning feature are selected among many features which are extracted based on bottom-up visual attention mechanism of human, and these features are modified as learned data by calculating average and standard variation of them. Proposed fire detection system uses learned data which is generated in fire learning system and features of input image to detect fire.

  • We have been designing human interactions for some learning support system or education system. The design is based on a symbol grounding model. The model is applicable to many learning domains using virtual reality technology. The design policy is simple and compact. In order to realize the policy we use/reuse some devices from the viewpoint of virtual reality. This paper introduces basic ideas and explains several example cases based on the idea.

  • The automization of manufacturing lines may be accomplished by replacing the human operator with computer system. This paper describes an idea to fully automize the razor qrinding process. Now, in this system, to control the process, human operator must estimate the qrinded states and control the grinding machine continuously. We propose two methods to automize this process by using CMAC memory. One is about learning expert-rules without direct communication with operator. And the other is complete self-learning method based on CMAC's learning algorithm. These ideas may be applied for another manufacturing processes.

  • The purpose of the research is to investigate the perception of corporate and e-Learning institute on ubiquitous society and learning environment in the context of human resource development. In addition, the study aims to analyze their recognition of u-Learning's components into the level of significance and actualization. The total of 118 institutes were participated in the research survey among the 144 e-learning certified institutes from the Ministry of Labor. The research includes the results of survey and implications on the area of human resource development.

  • The study of the meaning of learning began with the question of what causes people to start learning. Learning is humanization and personification. Learning is a basic human instinct, and the essence of learning is to understand other people and my life, learn community, and learn social capital. Learning gives humans nomadic judgment and provides an opportunity for a productive life for mankind, who must live in constant harmony with the social environment. Learning provides opportunities for self-management, communication with various generations, and self-actualization.

A Study on the Effectiveness of Learning Organization Managed by Medical Center (의료기관 학습조직 운영효과에 관한 연구)

  • This study was designed to suggest a learning organization in a medical center by examining the factors to influence effectiveness of the learning organization. We collected the data of 586 persons who participated once or more times in the learning organization managed from 2000 to 2002 by Y Medical Center located in Seoul, and included the data of 285 persons in the final analysis. The results of the study are summarized as follows. First, as the results of examining the regression coefficients to predict the effectiveness of and satisfaction with the learning organization through the learning level, learning method and learning organization constructing level as the general variables, the important influential factors were shown as follows: 1)knowledge creation, knowledge storing, private learning, organizational learning, and learning organization construction of occupational and human levels as the factors to predict the working competency; 2) learning organization construction of the human level as the factors to assume the duty satisfaction; 3) gender, working years, private learning, team learning and organizational construction level for the prediction of the organizational commitment; and 4) medical technical service, knowledge creation, organization learning, and constructing level of the environmental and human levels for the assumption of the satisfaction with experience in the learning organization. Based on the study results of the effects in managing the learning organization, we can conclude the followings. First, the members who are in various working positions and occupations need to continuously participate in the learning organization. Second, to raise the organizational outcome from the management of the learning organization, it is necessary to establish systematic concepts in the constituents of the organizational effectiveness such as working competency improvement, duty satisfaction and organizational commitment, and the experience satisfaction of the learning organization. Finally, the future of the organization depends on the learning competencies of the organization members. To continuously exist and develop the organization, the private learning of the organizational members should be constantly spread and shared over the organizational level, and the usual innovations such as repetitive and habitual organizational learning should be generally tried out throughout the whole field of the management.

  • This paper presents a framework to generate human-like movements of a humanoid in real time using the movement primitive database of a human. The framework consists of two processes: 1) the offline motion imitation learning based on an Evolutionary Algorithm and 2) the online motion generation of a humanoid using the database updated bγ the motion imitation teaming. For the offline process, the initial database contains the kinetic characteristics of a human, since it is full of human's captured motions. The database then develops through the proposed framework of motion teaming based on an Evolutionary Algorithm, having the kinetic characteristics of a humanoid in aspect of minimal torque or joint jerk. The humanoid generates human-like movements far a given purpose in real time by linearly interpolating the primitive motions in the developed database. The movement of catching a ball was examined in simulation.

  • Human emotions are revealed by various factors. Words, actions, facial expressions, attire and so on. But people know how to hide their feelings. So we can not easily guess its sensitivity using one factor. We decided to pay attention to behaviors and facial expressions in order to solve these problems. Behavior and facial expression can not be easily concealed without constant effort and training. In this paper, we propose an algorithm to estimate human emotion through combination of two results by gradually learning human behavior and facial expression with little data through the deep learning method. Through this algorithm, we can more comprehensively grasp human emotions.

  • In this paper, we consider the validity of a human probabilistic learning model applied to the perdiction of errors associated with the absolute identification of tones. It is shown that the probabilistic learning model describes the human error process adequately. The model parameters are estimated by two methods which are the method of maximum likelihood, and the method of mement. The MLE version of the model has the better predictive power but the ME version is more readily obtainable and may be more practical.
