장기요양시설 요양보호사의 인권의식이 돌봄행위 이행에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Awareness of Human Rights on Compliance of Caring Behavior of Long-term Care Workers)

  • Purpose: To identify the relationship between care worker's awareness of human rights and the compliance of caring behaviors among long-term care workers, and to identify factors affecting compliance with caring behaviors. Methods: Using self-report questionnaires, data were collected from 153 long-term care workers between October 4th and October 20th, 2019. Collected data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 26.0 program. Results: The data indicate a difference in awareness of human rights according to: the careers of care workers, the possession of other health care-related licenses, and the perceived needs of human rights education. The data also indicate a difference in the compliance of caring behaviors according to: gender, family care experience, and dementia care experience. The factors influencing compliance of caring behaviors, according to the study, are gender (β=.19, p=.009), family care experience (β=.19, p=.023), and human rights (β=.38, p<.001). It was found that 23% could explain the compliance of caring behaviors. Conclusion: Long term care workers were found to have a higher level of the compliance of caring behaviors as their awareness of human rights increased. In order to increase the compliance of caring behaviors among long-term care workers, more educational programs on human rights should be provided.

중환자실 간호사가 경험한 사람-중심의 관계 돌봄에 대한 해석 현상학적 분석 연구 (Person-Centered Relational Care Experienced by Critical Care Nurses: An Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis Study)

  • Purpose: The aim of the study was to explore nurses' experience of person-centered relational care in the context of critical care. Methods: Key interview questions were developed based on the human-to-human relationship model suggested by Travelbee. Data were collected through indepth interviews with a purposive sample of 11 nurses having more than 2 years of working experience in intensive care units. An interpretative phenomenological analysis was conducted to analyze the data. Results: Four super-ordinate and nine sub-ordinate themes were identified. Emerged super-ordinate themes were as follows: (1) encountering a live person via patient monitoring systems; (2) deep empathic connection; (3) humanistic and compassionate care, and (4) accompanying the journey to the end. Study findings revealed that nurses in intensive care units experienced 'balancing emotions' and 'authenticity' in caring when entering human-to-human relationships with dying patients. The phenomenon of person-centered relational care in intensive care units was found to subsume intrinsic attributes of empathy, compassion, and trust, similar to the central concepts of Travelbee's theory. Conclusion: The interpretative findings in this study provide deeper understanding of Travelbee's human-to-human relationship model. The technological environment in intensive care units did not hinder experienced nurses from forming human-to-human relationships. These themes need to be emphasized in critical care nursing education as well as in nursing management. The results of this study will contribute to understanding nurse-patient caring relationships in depth, and help improve the quality of nursing care in intensive care units.

  • This paper examines the trends of recently developed human-care robots and social interaction technologies. As one of the solutions to the problems of an aging society, human-care robots have gained considerable attention from the public and the market. However, commercialized human-care robots do not meet user expectations for the role as companions. Current robot services based on short-term interaction and fragmentary pieces of intelligence have encountered difficulty in eliciting natural communication with humans. This results in the failure of human-robot social bonding. Social interaction is being actively investigated as a technique for improving robots' natural communication skills. Robots can form a natural bond with humans through social interaction, which consequently increases their effectiveness. In this paper, we introduce recent human-care robot-related issues and subsequently describe technical challenges and implications for the success of human-care robots. In addition, we review recent trends on social interaction technologies and the datasets required.

요양보호사의 노인인권의식과 서비스 질에 대한 인식 수준의 관련성: 인권교육 조절효과 중심으로 (Association between Caregiver's Awareness of Human Rights and Quality of Service: Focused on Human Right Education)

  • Background: Long-term care insurance for the elderly has been stably established along with the quantitative expansion of long-term care facilities. Indeed, the need for a paradigm about human rights-based service approach is being raised throughout society from a service perspective. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the association between elderly human rights awareness and quality of service by considering human rights education as a moderate variable. Methods: This study conducted surveys with 138 caregivers working in long-term care facilities located in Seoul and Gangwon. General characteristics, awareness of human rights, and the level of service quality were examined using descriptive statistics, frequency analysis, and correlation analysis. And multi-variable linear regression with a hierarchical framework was employed. These analyses were performed using IBM SPSS ver. 25.0. Results: Of the 138 caregivers, 97.1% were female, 87.7% were more than 50 years old, and most of their education level was high-school graduates. Their length of employment ranged from more than 5 years to less than 10 years. The level of awareness regarding elderly human rights of the elderly was below normal (mean=2.21), but the quality of service was high (mean=4.21), and the need for human rights education was also high (mean=4.28). Among the general characteristics, the length of employment was significantly associated with awareness of elderly human rights. Moreover, political rights awareness, included as sub-domains of human rights, was positively associated with quality of service. However, the moderating variable, human rights education, was not significantly associated with the quality of service. Conclusion: In this study, human rights education, as a moderating variable, did not have a statistically significant effect on caregivers' human rights awareness in relation to service quality. This finding is inconsistent with previous research results. These results can be explained by the fact that the frequency of education in long-term care facilities was a significant factor in the practice of protecting the human rights of the elderly. Therefore ongoing encouragement for the frequency of current human rights education and improvements in the educational approach appear to be necessary. In addition, these findings reveal the need for strength of education policies and effective in-depth research about human rights and quality of service to respect the human rights of the elderly.

어린이집에서의 인간관계가 직무몰입을 매개로 보육민감성에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Human Relationships on Care Sensitivity Mediated by Work Immersion at Child Care Centers)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of childcare teachers' positive human relationships in childcare centers on care sensitivity to children through their work immersion. Methods: The subjects of this study were child care teachers who were conveniently sampled from Incheon City. A total of 380 surveys were distributed, and a total of 334 surveys were analyzed, Poor or incomplete questionnaires collected were excluded. The. Sobel Test and Baron & Kenny's multi-regression were used for the analysis with the SPSS 23.0 program. Results: Child care teachers' positive relationships with directors, with their fellow teachers, and with parents had an influence on teachers' care sensitivity to children. Teacher's positive relationships with their fellow teachers and with parents had an influence on teachers' work immersion, which mediated the relationships between teacher's human relationship and their care sensitivity to children. Conclusion/Implications: The positive relationships of child care teachers directly and indirectly affect their sensitivity to children through teachers' work immersion.

노인요양시설의 시설·인력 기준 비교 연구 (Comparing standards and guidelines of long-term care facilities based on physical environment and manpower in Korea, Japan, USA, and Australia)

  • The purpose of this study is to compare the standards and guidelines of long-term care facilities based on the physical environments and human resources in Korea, Japan, USA, and Australia. Ultimately, this study suggests the directions for amendments of long-term care service or running of the facilities in Korea. For achieving this purpose, we reviewed the homepage of national health departments, reports and articles of long-term care service, and acts related with long-term care in each country. This comparisons were carried in terms of physical environments, human resources by long-term care related acts and legal sanctions as means of quality control. This study implies that long-term care service guidelines or standards should be revised for developing the quality of our long-term care services.

  • Although the general concept of suffering care includes palliative care for the terminally ill that is designed to alleviate pain, it is much more holistic and encompasses emotional, spiritual and other life dimensions. Human suffering is multi-dimensional including spiritual and religious aspects, which diverge from the concept of pain understood in the context of materialistic medical approach. In this caring perspective, the body, mind and spirit are integrated so that objectivity and subjectivity can merge. The extended awareness with inner source or energy, and positive thinking about the personally-relevant God can be meaningful the dying person, family members and the caring team. Despite the importance of an inclusive understanding of human suffering, actual nursing practice still does not fully embrace the full understanding of human suffering. A more fundamental meaning of human suffering from the nursing perspective may fruitfully adopt a more inclusive view of human suffering.

돌봄: 헌법적 가치 (Care as a Constitutional Value)

  • 이 논문은 헌법에 투영된 규범적 관점에 견주어 돌봄을 살펴봄으로써, 정의의 입장에서 돌봄을 재고함과 동시에 우리의 삶과 가까운 불가분의 생활영역에서 다뤄지는 구체적인 정치적 가치로서 돌봄의 위상을 정립하고자 한다. 헌법에서 이 논문이 주목하는 지점은 '국민의 권리와 의무'를 규정하는 헌법 제2장의 시작인 제10조 제1문의 '인간으로서의 존엄과 가치' 및 '행복추구권' 조항이다. 헌법 제10조의 '인간으로서의 존엄과 가치' 및 '행복추구권' 조항은 헌법질서의 최고 가치로 해석된다. 이 논문은 돌봄의 관점에서 인간존엄 및 행복추구조항을 살펴보고, 헌법의 최고이념이자 구성원리인 인간존엄으로서 돌봄의 가치를 강조함과 동시에 행복추구권에 함축된 자유주의적 자유의 개념 틀로 돌볼 자유를 설명하는 것의 한계를 지적하고자 한다. 이를 통해 궁극적으로 돌봄을 헌법에 명시해야 함을 주장하고자 한다. 결론적으로 이 논문을 통해서 우리의 삶과 사회를 지탱하고 견인하는 가치이자, 국가운영의 주축이 되는 원리이자, 부정의를 시정하고 정의로운 국가의 제작방향을 알려주는 길잡이로서 돌봄의 의의를 재고할 수 있기를 기대한다.

사회적 지지, 스트레스 대처방식이 보육교사의 직무스트레스에 미치는 영향: 직장보육시설을 중심으로 (Effects of Social Support and Stress Coping Strategies on Teachers' Job Stress in Corporate-Sponsored Child Care Centers)

  • This study explored effects of social support and stress coping strategies on teachers' job stress in corporate-sponsored child care centers. Participants were 191 child care teachers from 19 corporate-sponsored child care centers. Data was analyzed using Pearson's productive correlation and hierarchical multiple regression tests. Important findings were as follows: First, the overload of task was the dominant factor in causing job stress. Secondly, social support correlated negatively with child care teachers' job stress. Thirdly, child care teachers' problem-focused coping strategy was also found to be related to their job stress. Finally, the effect of social support on child care teachers' job stress was partially mediated by their problem-focused coping strategy.

장기요양기관 요양보호사의 노인인권옹호행동 영향요인: 개인의 인권의식과 조직의 서비스 지향성을 중심으로 (A Study on Human Rights Behavior of Korean Care Workerin Long Term Care Facilities: The Interaction Effect of Human Rights Awareness and Service Orientations)

  • 장기요양보험제도 시행의 정착에 따른 노인요양서비스 이용 노인 규모가 점차 확대되고 보편화됨에 따라 장기요양서비스 질 제고를 위한 제도적 기반이 마련되는 과정에서 기존의 욕구에 기반을 둔 서비스(need based service) 제공의 원칙으로부터 인권에 기반을 둔 서비스(human rights based service) 제공으로 패러다임 전환이 요구되고 있다. 노인장기요양기관 요양보호사들은 요양시설 인권실천의 최전방에 있는 주체로 이들의 인권옹호행동이 질 높은 서비스 전달의 중요한 요인이 된다는 점에서 주목을 받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 노인장기요양기관 요양보호사들의 인권의식이 인권옹호행동에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지, 또한 그 과정에서 환경요인인 조직의 효과는 이들의 관계를 어떻게 조절하는지 검증하고자 하였다. 연구대상 기관은 2014년 7월 현재 등록된 전국 장기요양기관(정원 30인 이상) 3,983개소 중 사회복지법인 등 비영리법인이 운영하는 782개 시설을 대상으로 하였다. 노인장기요양기관에서 노인요양보호사들을 대상으로 개인수준에 해당하는 인권의식과 조직의 서비스 환경으로 조직수준의 서비스 지향성이 인권옹호행동에 미치는 효과를 검증하고, 인권의식(개인)과 인권환경(조직)의 상호작용 효과를 통합적으로 검증하였다. 개인수준과 조직수준 효과 검증을 위해 분석방법은 다층모형(multi-level model)을 적용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 개인수준의 인권의식이 인권옹호행동에 정적으로 유의한 영향을 미치고, 조직수준의 서비스 환경에 해당하는 서비스지향성(리더십/태도/인적자원관리/시스템)은 세부 요소에 따라 영향은 다르지만, 인권옹호행동에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 개인의 인권의식과 조직의 서비스 지향성 상호작용 효과를 살펴본 결과 인권옹호행동에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나는데, 특히 서비스 지향성구성요소 중 '인적자원관리'는 인권의식과 상호작용을 통해 인권옹호행동에 정(+)적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석을 통해 본 연구에서는 인권옹호행동에 영향을 미치는 개인 요인과 조직 요인에 대한 이해를 제고하고, 노인장기요양기관 인권 증진을 위해 요양보호사와 장기요양보호기관에 어떤 정책적, 실천적 개입을 할 수 있을지에 대한 함의를 도출하였다.
