In recent years, wireless communication technologies in human body have received an increasing attention and the research on an antenna that can be worn also has been actively conducted. In this paper, an wearable antenna that can receive GPS signal frequency is proposed. The antenna was manufactured by using a copper polyester fabric with thickness of 0.08mm as a radiator and a ground plate, and a goatskin with thickness of 0.7mm as dielectric substrate. Cutting edges placed in diagonal direction of square patch in order to obtain a circular polarization characteristic, and the conductive cloth and leather was laminated by using a conductive epoxy. First, goatskin dielectric constant was obtained through the simulation and measurement of resonance frequency of the three square patch antennas with different size. On the basis of the results, an antenna operating in the GPS band was designed and the performance of the antenna was validated by making the experiment. The change of the characteristic of the antenna that is located on the shoulder parts of the clothing and wearing person were measured. And it was confirmed that the reception sensitivity has a similar level as compared to the commercially produced ceramic GPS antenna.
This paper introduces a device providing close local lighting to the affected part, where the operation-purpose astral lamp alone cannot shed light directly, in an operation room of hospitals or clinics, which helps clinical doctors perform safe treatment of the affected part deep inside a human body. This medical assisting lighting is a device necessary to prevent fatal operation failures, which can occur with minute operation processes, such as tumor removal or angiorrhaphy. The components, such as the light source and power supply were designed to be low power consuming and small in size, have a narrow angle lens was used to increase the light spreading effect and focused illumination. The end-caps of the light transmission device using an optical cable and the lighting device were designed in the waterproof type to enable disinfection of these devices after use for the next patients. According to the measurement of the light source properties made after development of the retractor lighting device, the illumination intensity was 490 lux, the brightness was
Radon gas is a colorless, odorless, tasteless gas that occurs when uranium, a natural radioactive material in rocks and soils, collapses. 85% of the annual radiation exposure of the human body is due to natural radiation, of which 50% is radon. According to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) survey, 62 out of 1,000 smokers and 7 out of 1,000 nonsmokers are exposed to lung cancer when exposed to radon gas for a long time. In order to reduce the risk of radon gas, activate carbon was used to fabricate matrix, and the pore properties and radon reduction properties were investigated. When the activate carbon was used, the radon gas concentration was drastically reduced and the graph was changed as the measurement period became longer. The pore distribution and microporous properties, which are one of the material properties of activate carbon, can be grasped.
Since radiation therapy is irradiated with high-energy X-rays in a variety of at least 20 Gy to 80 Gy, a high dose is administered to the local area where the tumor is located, and various side effects of some normal tissues are expected. Currently, in clinical practice, lead, a representative material, is used as an effort to shield normal tissues, but lead is classified as a heavy metal harmful to the human body, and a large amount of skin contact can cause poisoning. Therefore, this study intends to manufacture a measurement sheet that can compensate for the limitations of lead using the materials Tungsten, Brass, and Copper of the 3D printer of the FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) method and to investigate the penetration performance. Tungsten mixed filament transmission measurement sheet size was 70 × 70 mm and thickness 1, 2, 4 mm using a 3D printer, and a linear accelerator (TrueBeam STx, S/N: 1187) was measured by irradiating 100 MU at SSD 100 cm and 5 cm in water using a water phantom, an ion chamber (FC-65G), and an elcetrometer (PTW UNIDOSE), and the permeability was evaluated. As a result of increasing the measurement sheet of each material by 1 mm, in the case of Tungsten sheet at 3.8 to 3.9 cm in 6 MV, the thickness of the lead shielding body was thinner than 6.5 cm, and in case of Tungsten sheet at 4.5 to 4.6 cm in 15 MV. The sheet was thinner than the existing lead shielding body thickness of 7 cm, and equivalent performance was confirmed. Through this study, the transmittance measurement sheet produced using Tungsten alloy filaments confirmed the possibility of transmission shielding in the high energy region. It has been confirmed that the usability as a substitute is also excellent. It is thought that it can be provided as basic data for the production of shielding agents with 3D printing technology in the future.
Concern about air pollution is gradually rising up in domestic and foreign, automotive and fuel researchers are trying to reduce vehicle exhaust emissions, through a lot of approaches, which consist of new engine design and innovative after-treatment systems, using clean (eco-friendly alternative) fuels and fuel quality improvement. This research is proceeding by two main issues : exhaust emissions and PM particle emissions of gasoline vehicle. Exhaust emissions, non-regulated emissions and PM (particulate matter) particles of automotive are causing many problems which ambient pollution and harmful effects on the human body. The main particulate fraction of automotive exhaust emissions consists of small particles. Because of their small size, inhaled particles can easily penetrate deep into the lungs. The rough surfaces of these particles make it easier for them to combine with other toxins in the environment. Thus, the hazards of particle inhalation are increased. Based on the oxygenated fuel additive types (MTBE, Bio-ETBE, Bio-ethanol, Bio-butanol), this paper discussed the influence of oxygen contents on gasoline vehicle exhaust emissions, non-regulated emissions and nano-particle emissions. Also, this paper assessed exhaust emission characteristics at 2 type test modes. The test modes were FTP-75 and HWFET. All measurement items be verified less than the value of regulated emissions. It could be known difference increase and decrease by each measurement item depending on increase the oxygen contents.
The usefulness of Gel Bolus phantom was investigated by comparing the temperature distribution characteristic of the agar phantom produced to investigate the dose distribution characteristic of radiofrequency hyperthermia device with that of the Gel Bolus phantom under conditions similar to those of an agar phantom that can continuously carry out temperature measurement. The temperatures of the agar phantom and the Gel Bolus phantom were raised to
This study is compared that the dose distribution by experimentation and radiation therapy planning (RTP) when the air cavity region was treated high energy photon. The dose measurements were performed with a 6 MV photon beam of linear accelerator. The polystyrene and self made acyl phantom were similar to tissue density of the human body. A parallel plate chamber was connected to an electrometer. The measurement setup was SCD (Source Chamber Distance) 100 cm and the distance of surface from air cavity was 3 cm. Absorbed dose of interface were measured by area and height. The percent depth dose were measured presence and absence of air cavity, depth according to a ratio of field size and air cavity size. The dose distribution on planning was expressed to do the inhomogeneity correction. As the area of air cavity was increased, the absorbed dose were gradually reduced. It was slightly increased, when the height of air cavity was changed from 0 cm to 0.5 cm. After the point, dose was decreased. In case of presence of air cavity, dose after distal air cavity interface was more great than absence of air cavity. The rebuild up by field size and area of air cavity occurred for field size,
Purpose: High-energy radiotherapy with 10 MV or higher develops photoneutron through photonuclear reaction. Photoneutron has higher radiation weighting factor than X-ray, thus low dose can greatly affect the human body. An accurate dosimetric calculation and consultation are needed. This study compared and analyzed the dose change of photoneutron in terms of space according to the size of photon beam energy and treatment methods. Materials and Methods: To measure the dose change of photoneutron by the size of photon beam energy, patients with the same therapy area were recruited and conventional plans with 10 MV and 15 MV were each made. To measure the difference between the two treatment methods, 10 MV conventional plan and 10 MV IMRT plan was made. A detector was placed at the point which was 100 cm away from the photon beam isocenter, which was placed in the center of
The wall shear stress in the vicinity of end-to end anastomoses under steady flow conditions was measured using a flush-mounted hot-film anemometer(FMHFA) probe. The experimental measurements were in good agreement with numerical results except in flow with low Reynolds numbers. The wall shear stress increased proximal to the anastomosis in flow from the Penrose tubing (simulating an artery) to the PTFE: graft. In flow from the PTFE graft to the Penrose tubing, low wall shear stress was observed distal to the anastomosis. Abnormal distributions of wall shear stress in the vicinity of the anastomosis, resulting from the compliance mismatch between the graft and the host artery, might be an important factor of ANFH formation and the graft failure. The present study suggests a correlation between regions of the low wall shear stress and the development of anastomotic neointimal fibrous hyperplasia(ANPH) in end-to-end anastomoses. 30523 T00401030523 ^x Air pressure decay(APD) rate and ultrafiltration rate(UFR) tests were performed on new and saline rinsed dialyzers as well as those roused in patients several times. C-DAK 4000 (Cordis Dow) and CF IS-11 (Baxter Travenol) reused dialyzers obtained from the dialysis clinic were used in the present study. The new dialyzers exhibited a relatively flat APD, whereas saline rinsed and reused dialyzers showed considerable amount of decay. C-DAH dialyzers had a larger APD(11.70
