A Study on the Change in the Housing of Jeju City for the past Fifty Years (제주시제 실시이후 50년간의 주거 변화에 관한 연구)

  • Jeju City has been developed and changed variously by influence of industrialization and urbanization since Jeju City was erected into a city on September 1st of 1955. The purpose of the study is to offer information and data for establishing housing policy and urban planning for being considered the change of housing in Jeju City for the past fifty years. The method of the study is an analysis of documentary records and data and an inquiry of literature. The results are following: 1) The population of Jeju City has increased six times ever before. 2) The ratio of housing supply is 95.3% and the ratio of renting houses has increased than before in terms of the type of occupation of housing. 3) The ratio of collective house is higher than detached dwelling's in term of the type of housing units.

  • This study aimed to analyze the housing lifestyles of one person households (OPH) with the perspective of digital placemaking in order to suggest the planning criteria for OPH house. The structured questionnaire survey was accomplished by 145 OPH. The main findings were as follows. (1) OPH's housing lifestyles were classified into four types composed of ten factors. (2) The user preference for the space organization was varied by four types of housing lifestyles. (3) Most OPH required the informational appliances and their needs for other digital appliances were significantly differed by four types of housing lifestyles.

  • This study analyzes the physical environments of studio-housing and suggests alternative solutions for the problems of studio-housing. Based on solving the problems of it through previous research review, the research methods are decided on-site survey and the housing floor plan analysis. The results of this study are follows. First, parking lots make passengers uncomfortable. Narrow spaces between buildings cause problems in terms of light, ventilation, and privacy. Moreover, the short of green space makes living conditions less amenable. Second, the narrow corridors of studio-housing buildings bring about bad effects on walking and privacy. The living conditions becomes worse due to the illegal remodeling. Third, even though a multi-family housing provision for low or middle-income families is a good housing policy, new design policies or interventions are needed to make residents' behavior comfortable.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine residential cultural attributes by analysing typological and living characteristics while focusing on various types of houses located in Gyeongju city, based on the historical and cultural background of the city. In this study, it is important to suggest methods for planning residential construction which satisfies requirements of Gyeongju citizens for living environment and considers its cultural and historical contexts. This study was performed using housing type-related questionnaires with 203 residents to find out their current living types, as well as their preferable living types in the future, during the period from the 16th to 18th day of August 2007. Analysis was performed using the SPSS 14, a statistical program, and statistically significant results were drawn from the analysis.

  • In planning a building retrofit, energy conservation, thermal comfort and economic benefits should be considered. In this study, retrofit effects of exterior insulating method on preventing condensation, saving energy were analyzed through the heat transfer simulation, energy simulation in the apartment house retrofitted by exterior insulating method cheaper than other retrofit methods. The results of this study show that the retrofit using exterior insulating method can prevent the condensation at the corner walls and save about 20% of annual heating load. The LCC analysis revealed to be effective to select a dryvit system for a building retrofit.

  • This study is done in order to settle down as a Architecture Movement mainly had conducted by Theo van Doesburg. The process of this research is mainly focus on the Theo van Doesburg had used it as a house and studio, which had built in November 1930 since Agust 1925. Even though the works and theories of Theo van Doesburg had widely inffuenced on Modern Architects, these were the only experimental paper architecture by conceptural proposal of plastic architecture. Namely, The value of his works and theories did not overcome experimental archtecture. but, Theo van Doesburg left one work, at Meudon near Paris. This study intends to clear the special features of changing process and spatial characteristics on planing throughout from the planning to accomplisment of it.

  • The main purpose of this study is to provide basic data for the development of secondary Home Economics education curriculum and program by investigating the recognition perceived by Home Economics teachers. We have done statistical analyses of 237 questionnaires on the Home Economics teachers' recognition. The results are as follows: 1) The respondents evaluated the necessity of Home Economics education in secondary school, application of aquired knowledge and technical skill and learning by practical experience, highly. 2) As for the contents of Home Economics education curriculum, the respondents place a high value on the field of Meal Management, Child and Family Studies, Home resourse Management and Consumer life, Clothing Management, and House Planning and Management, in the order. 3) The most important educational concepts are knowledges and understanding for the human beings.

  • This research analyze the demand of the residents against the public housing remodeling of national housing scale $(85m^2)$, focusing on residents and their tendencies within their dwelling spaces. The analysis determines the most appropriate patterns and spatial connections within the floor plan. The result includes that there are two types of the classification into an urban oriented propensity (45%), 'The center of city, the apartment and the convenience' etc, and a rural oriented propensity (55%), 'The pastoral, the house and the circumstance' etc, based on their lifestyle values. Also there are three interior propensity classifications, those tending to warm and sensitive variable space (42%), western and gorgeous dynamic space (34%) and oriental and popular static space (24%). The research illustrated the residents' desired space planning options, based on the analysis of the residents' preference patterns which is various.

  • This study was conducted to provide useful information to enable planned repair and cost planning during the operation and maintenance phase of aged multi-family housing. For this purpose, The concept of probabilistic maintenance cost analysis considering the risk factors of the aged multi-family housing is presented in the following six steps. 1. Risk factor investigation and analysis 2. Classification and deriving of maintenance cost 3. Investigation and deriving cost maintenance cost of old apartment house 4. Analysis of expert questionnaire 5. Analysis of Monte -Carlo simulation 6. Probabilistic maintenance cost Deriving the result. This study has limitations that need to be verified by applying actual data.

A Study on Attributes of Elderly Housing Selection by The Middle and The Aged (중년층과 노년층의 노인시설주거 선택 속성에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the elderly housing farcility design preference by comparing two groups, the present residents living in elderly housing facility and the middle aged. The latter has more housing experiences and more design oriented standard of selecting house for quality of living, while the aged are oriented more in economy and investment. It is identified that both group preferred living in elderly housing facility best to any other elderly housing type, including "aging in place." The aged are not yet very concerned about physically homelike design features, but when the middle aged need the elderly housing, it is recommended that more variety and amenity in its type, location, plan and design features. The idealistic facility planning and management system were suggested.
