위성 영상정보를 이용한 선형 지형지물 추출에서의 GDPA와 Hough 변환 처리결과 비교연구 (Comparative Study of GDPA and Hough Transformation for Linear Feature Extraction using Space-borne Imagery)

  • 위성영상 정보를 이용하여 지형지물을 인식하거나 추출하는 것은 영상정보의 실제적인 응용을 위한 기본 연구로 간주되고 있다. 또한 고 해상도 영상정보가 다양한 민간 분야에서 활발하게 이용됨에 따라 정확한 지형지물의 추출에 대한 필요성이 더욱 강조되고 있다. 지금까지 중-저 해상도 영상정보를 대상으로 하여 도로 경계를 포함하는 선형 지형지물을 자동으로 추출하기 위한 여러 가지 방법들이 개발되고 있어 왔으나 이를 고 해상도 영상정보에 적용하거나 적용 결과를 분석한 사례는 많지 않다. 본 연구에서는 항공사진 정보니 고 해상도 영상정보를 대상으로 하여 선형 지형지물의 추출에 적합한 기법으로 최근에 제안된 구배 방향 프로파일 알고리즘(GDPA)과 Hough 변환기법에 따른 적용 결과를 동일한 자료에 적용하고 이러한 결과를 비교하고자 하였다. 각 방법에 대한 적용 결과를 정량적으로 비교하기 위해 수치지도의 도로 중심선과 도로 경계선 레이어를 기준으로 하는 Commission, Omission 오차를 이용한 Ranking기법을 적용하여 수행하였다. 연구 결과, Hough 변환기법이 추출 결과 영상에서는 평균적으로 20%정도의 높은 정확도를 보이며, 처리속도는 GDPA의 경우가 Hough 변환 기법에 비하여 빠른 실행 속도를 보이는 것으로 나타났다 그러나 GDPA 알고리즘에 잡음제거를 시행한 경우에는 Hough 변환에 의한 결과와 유사한 정확도를 보인다. 결론적으로 위성 영상정보로부터 지형지물을 추출하는 어플리케이션에서는 GDPA 알고리즘이 Hough 변환 기법에 비하여 적용성이 좋은 것으로 생각된다.

  • This paper represents a development of a range finder sensor module for indoor 2-D mapping and modified Hough transformation for map building. A range finder sensor module has been developed by using optic PSD (Position Sensitive Detector) sensor array at a low price. While PSD sensor is cost effective and light weighting, it has switching noise and white noise. To remove these noises, we propose a heuristic filter. For line-based map building, also we proposed advanced Hough transformation and navigation algorithm. Some experiments were illustrated for the validity of the developed system.

  • A CCD camera with a laser strip was applied to realize the automation of welding Process in GMAW. It takes relatively long time to process image on-line control using the basic Hough transformation, but it has a tendency of robustness over the noise such spatter and arc light. The adaptive Hough transformation was used to extract the laser stripe and to obtain specific weld points In this study, a neural network based on the generalized delta rule algorithm was adapted for the process control of GMA, such as welding speed, arc voltage and wire feeding speed.

저정밀 X-Y 로봇을 이용한 검사 시스템의 변형된 Hough 변환을 이용한 위치오차보정 (Correction of Position Error Using Modified Hough Transformation For Inspection System with Low Precision X- Y Robot)

  • The important factors that cause position error in X-Y robot are inertial force, frictions and spring distortion in screw or coupling. We have to estimate these factors precisely to correct position errors, Which is very difficult. In this paper, we makes systems to inspect metal stencil which is used to print solder paste on pads of SMD of PCB with low precision X-Y robot and vision system. To correct position error that is caused by low precision X-Y robot, we defines position error vector that is formed with position of objects that exist in reference and camera image. We apply MHT(Modified Hough Transformation) for the aim of determining the dominant position error vector. We modify reference image using extracted dominant position error vector and obtain reference image that is the same with camera image. Effectiveness and performance of this method are verified by simulation and experiment.

  • Using computer picture processing, a method of extracting the region of a car number plate is described. A modified Hough transformation, in which parameter plane is restricted, is proposed. The demerits of Hough transformation, i.e., it requires much computation time and storage capacity, are reduced by this method. Further, taking the features of a car number plate into consideration, the region of a car number plate is extracted.

  • A computer-vision based pipe-inspection algorithm is developed. The algorithm uses the modified Hough transformation and a line-scanning approach to identify the edge line and the radius of the pipe image, from which the eccentricity and dimension of the pipe-end is calculated. Line and circle detection was performed using Laplace operator with input image, which are acquired from the front and side cameras. In order to minimize the memory usage and the processing time, a clustering method with the modified Hough transformation is introduced for line detection. The dimension of inner and outer radius of pipe is calculated by the proposed line-scanning method. The method scans several lines along the X and Y axes, calculating the eccentricity of inner and outer circle, by which pipes with wrong end-shape can be classified and removed.

  • This paper proposes a new feature extraction method which is effectively used in character recognition, and validate the effectiveness through various computational methods for similiarity degree. To get feature vectors used in this method, Hough transform is applied to character image, which is used for edge extraction in image processing. By that transformation technique, strokes could be extracted and feature vectors constructed suitably. The characteristic of this method is solving the difficulties in stroke extraction through transform space analysis, which is induced by noise and blurring, and representing high recognition rate 99.3% within 10 candidates in relative low dimension.

  • In this paper, we propose a method to segment the bottle label in images taken by mobile phones using multi-gradient approaches. In order to segment the label region of interest-object, the saliency map method and Hough Transformation method are first applied to the original images to obtain the candidate region. The saliency map is used to detect the most salient area based on three kinds of features (color, orientation and illumination features). The Hough Transformation is a technique to isolated features of a particular shape within an image. Therefore, we utilize it to find the left and right border of the bottle. Next, we segment the label based on the gradient information obtained from the structure tensor method and edge method. The experimental results have shown that the proposed method is able to accurately segment the labels as the first step of product label recognition system.
