Space Image and Preference of Stylish Hotel -Focusing on Verbal Image and Color Image of 'Stylish'- (스타일리시 호텔의 공간이미지와 선호도 -스타일리시의 언어이미지와 색채이미지를 중심으로-)

  • This study is the one on space image and preference of stylish hotels. And in addition to them, it is the one to verify the minimal style arrangement in the survey results about verbal image and color image of stylish according to gender and age which are the precedent studies. The research result has found that there was no any meaningful difference in gender and age. And the result which extracted the representative languages to investigate correlationship between space image and verbal image of stylish has done that you feel that space image is stylish recognizing individual, sensuous, simple and urban characteristics. Also, space image and preference has done that there are B Hotel of Robby space, C Hotel of food and drink space and A Hotel of room space and color image and preference has done that there are respectively high brightness and low chroma, high brightness and low chroma and low brightness and low chroma. They are the same result with the minimal style arrangement which was recognized as the most stylish things in the precedent studies. It has found that the respondents recognize space image of Stylish hotels as refined, sensuous and individual one linguistically and space of high brightness and low chroma, low brightness and low chroma and low brightness and low chroma as the stylish things. The purpose of the study is to suggest the new design directions for stylish space display and design marketing.

Analysis of wedding servicescape color combination image -focusing on the comparison between hotel banquet hall, general wedding hall and sanctuary- (결혼 예식장 종류에 따른 서비스스케이프 배색 이미지 분석 -호텔 예식 연회, 일반예식장, 종교 결혼식장과의 비교를 중심으로-)

  • This study was aimed to analyze the wedding servicescape color combination image focusing on the comparison between hotel banquet hall, general wedding hall and sanctuary. The survey was conducted among 400 customers(aged from 20~39 years old) who lived in Seoul and Kyunggi Province and 315 were analyzed. The statistical data analyses were performed using SPSS/WIN 17.0 and reliability analysis, factor analysis, t-test, ANOVA were used. Based on the result of the conducting factor analysis, color image of wedding hall were classified into 3 factors: delicateness, nobleness, and vivaciousness. Cronbach's alpha was calculated for the reliability of the survey instrument. Consequently, wedding hall color image were shown 'clear' 3.60, 'mild' 3.50, 'delicate' 3.38. Comparison among wedding hall types, 'vivaciousness' was 3.00 at general wedding hall, 'nobleness' was 3.64 at hotel banquet hall, and 'delicateness' was 3.60 at hotel banquet hall. Demographic differences of wedding hall color image were found by sex, marital status, monthly income but not by age, education and occupation. The results of this study will serve as a basis of wedding hall color marketing researches.

  • Today the corporate environment is changing rapidly in a standpoint of politics, economics, society and technology environment. So corporates need a management strategy in another point of view. As a new menagement strategy it is introduced corporate culture. The corporate culture should be built with the core of CI, in order to be adapted to peripheral circumstances of the company. The purpose of this thesis is to contribute to manage the systematic management of corporate image by inquiring into corporate identity. Through the research of the deluxe hotels in seoul it is tried to find hotel CI-concept. As a result, the knowledge level of hotel managers is a little low and considered simply as the modification of basic elements and development of a visual idenification system. The emphasis must be on the coordination and integration to create a desired coroporate image and to communicate this image created for the target audience in a systematic and unified mannr.

  • Purpose - Since the number of cafés operated by using cultural marketing in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province is increasing, this study emphasizes the necessity of cultural marketing, which is a different strategy of specialty coffee shops, focusing on Jeju Island. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of positive effects of service quality and brand image on customer satisfaction through cultural marketing. Research design, data, and methodology - It emphasizes the necessity of cultural marketing of specialty coffee shops, and how the positive effects of service quality and brand image brought through cultural promotion, culture support, cultural support, cultural enterprise influence customer satisfaction. The results of this study are as follows. In order to verify the research hypothesis of this study, Jeju residents who have experience using cultural marketing conducted in coffee shops in Jeju Island are targeted. The cafe in Jeju area, which runs from April 4 to April 14, 2018. A total of 110 copies of the questionnaire were distributed, and the final 100 copies were used as final empirical analysis data. Result - The results of the study are as follows. First, promotion and culture business activities have positive influence on brand image. Second, production and cultural business activities had positive effects. Third, brand image has a positive effect on customer satisfaction. Fourth, service quality has a positive effect on customer satisfaction. Conclusions - The implications of this study are following as: First, if you want to grow into a cultural enterprise in the province by enhancing your brand image, you need to prioritize cultural direction and business direction for cultural companies among sub-factors of cultural marketing. Second, it is necessary to improve the customer satisfaction through the improvement of the brand image considering the composition of the stores in the city, the facilities and the atmosphere, and the consumer tendency such as product and customer age.

A Study on Using Realities for Hotel Lobby -Focused on Resort Hotel in Cheju (호텔로비의 이용실태에 관한 조사연구-제주지역 관광호텔을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the utilization of the interior environment in hotel lobby and to grasp the requests of visitors. The significance of the study is to illustrate the present characters of hotel lobby and to offer the basic data for future hotel projects. The materials for this study has been collected through questionnaires garnered from six deluxe hotels in Cheju, and statistically analyzed by the semantic differential scale of L. E. Osgood. The conclusion of this study as follows . 1) Hotel lobby is used as waiting space for a short time and frequent use is four times a day. The lobby is used by the quest for meeting , waiting as a resting place while it serves as the visitor's meeting and resting place. 2) The user prefers the lobby's open space. It is desirable for the area of activity of a quests and visitors to have separate entrances. The space composition of the lobby is centrally located between the room and subsidiary equipment. The hotel lobby has needed of a method which promotes lobby image through a magnificent view of the outside.

The Effects of Emotional Intelligence on the Customer Orientation and Customer Relationship Management Performance of Hotel Employees (호텔기업 종업원의 감성지능이 고객지향성과 CRM성과에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose - This study aimed to (a) investigate the effects of emotional intelligence on customer orientation, (b) examine the impact of customer orientation on customer relationship management (CRM) performance (including CRM-related variables such as 'relationship commitment,' 'image of corporation,' and 'customer loyalty'), and (c) identify the conceptual framework of emotional intelligence. Research design, data, and methodology - The data were collected using a questionnaire given to a sample of employees of luxury hotels in the metropolitan area. To test the hypotheses, AMOS were conducted for the 271 respondents of the sample using the SPSS Win 17.0 software. The concept of emotional intelligence (EI) has been on the radar of many leaders and managers over the past few decades. Emotional intelligence is generally accepted to be a combination of emotional and interpersonal competencies that influence behavior, thoughts, and interactions with others. Emotional intelligence consists of four factors: understanding the self's emotion, understanding other people's emotions, emotion utilization, and emotion control. Understanding the self's emotion means to understand of my own emotions. Understanding other people's emotions is to understand of the emotions of the people around me and to know how my friends feel based on their behavior. The concept of emotion utilization means to set goals for myself and then try to achieve them, encouraging myself to do my best. The concept of emotion control means I can control my temper, handle difficult situations rationally, and calm down quickly when I am very angry. Results - As a result of the analysis, three factors (understanding the self's emotion, understanding of other people's emotions, and emotion utilization) were shown to have a significant effect on customer orientation. Emotion control had an insignificant effect on customer orientation. Only emotion control makes it difficult to solve customers' problems because it is a passive behavior. In order to solve the customers' problems, hotel employees have to show a positive attitude. Second, customer orientation had a significant effect on customer relationship management performance (customer relationship commitment, corporate image, and customer loyalty). In other words, customer orientation increases commitment to customer relationships. For example, employees who have a customer-orientated perspective provide good service to their customers, while employees who don't have a customer-orientated perspective can't satisfy their customers. Customer orientation can also generate a good image among customers, because they evaluate the image of a hotel through the behavior of hotel employees. So it is very important for employees to show excellent customer orientation. Conclusions - It is very important for hotel CEOs to manage their employees' emotional intelligence. In order to increase their employees' emotional intelligence abilities, CEOs have to manage the overall corporate culture and reward programs to achieve what they want. This is because the system can lead to a customer-orientated mind-set and CRM performance among employees. As a result, the hotel CEO has to pay attention to the emotional intelligence of employees to achieve strong CRM performance. The sentence as originally written was a bit unclear.   • Among korean traditional culture, TalChum(mask dance) which bears our unique cultural emotion, is about wearing a Tal(korean mask) and dancing, which express our ethnic feeling. The ethnic feeling was expressed into silhouette of hotel uniform which sightseers at home and abroad most frequently visit. This would be the best and the fastest way to show and deliver ethinic feeling of Korea. Fashion design of an uniform would be the best way to express group's unification and attachment. The purpose of this study was to design uniforms, in order to satisfy the property of function, aesthetic points, symbolism to inhere and to differentiate the group from others by using plastic and creative design. This study was meant to induce people to get near to characteristic of Korean culture, using hotel uniform design. Mask's plastic beauty of characteristic Chosun dynasty and express vividly Tal's image with Korean traditional reality was applied on hotel uniform design. By doing so, visitors can come back to the hotel with longtime memory of Korea. The characteristics and the humorous symbolism of Tal were designed and applied to uniform design on collar, bodice, pocket, and sleeves.

A Study on the Network Quotient of Employees in Deluxe Hotel according to Demographic Characteristics (특급호텔 종사원의 인구통계적 특성에 따른 인맥지수에 대한 탐색적 고찰)

  • This study considered network quotient (NQ) of deluxe hotel employees and schematized characteristic attributes of being selected by employees with image through correspondence analysis in terms of cognition degree. Self-administrated questionnaires were completed by employees (292 samples) and data were analysed by frequency, t-test, one-way ANOVA, reliability and correspondence analysis. First, the hotel employees indicated the high average value in "participating in special education or seminar for improving ability ($3.85{\pm}0.76$). Second, as a result of analyzing difference according to gender, the average value in men was higher than in women. It was indicated that the higher age and career lead to a rise even in the average value of relationship index. Third, in consequence of carrying out correspondence analysis in order to prepare image map according to cognition level on relationship index in hotel employees, the measurement item that is placed in the closest distance to the response as saying of not so very was the response as saying of "having a lunch (dinner) engagement twice or three times a week." On the other hand, the response as saying of "tending to have many acquaintances compared to coworkers" was schematized in the close distance to the response as saying of very so.

  • It has been true that major investment among local business hotels were placed in furniture design character as there are increasing number of international events hosted by Korea. The study, under these circumstances, as a study In advance to see the design feature and trend of local business hotel's guest room furniture, has done interview with guest room manager, photographing of rooms, actual survey for analysing guest room plane surface, etc., researcher directly visiting 15 hotels that have special first grade businessmen only floor in Seoul. In addition, a survey has been done to know if each hotel room and furniture has particular image, from this survey the design feature of local business hotel's guest room has been analysed, and the result is as following. The result shows that similar pattern is applied in furniture placement of each guest room but for the furniture type and design concept, some try to re-design of wooden furniture available in Lee dynasty and others adopt European style like France and United Kingdom for the realization of semi-classic image. Typical material and color is red oak and maple.

A Study on Design Development of the Hotel Robe Based on Korean Images (한국 전통 이미지의 호텔용가운 디자인 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This study was conducted to redesign hotel robes based on Korean images. Hotel robes are furnished at many Korean hotels to increase the level of their guests' satisfaction toward their hotel services. The current hotel robe has several flaws in utility and design. Also, the robes register a low level on guests' satisfaction while generating high cleaning cost. Consequently, improvements in the hotel robes' material, motifs, style, and color were needed. The current one-piece, cotton towel weave robes used in hotels are white and pale. Half of the hotel guests never wear the hotel robes during their stay, because they are unattractive and most Korean hotels provide a robe similar in design. Furthermore, these robes are undistinguishable from those found at other countries. Nevertheless, Korean hotel managers feel that the hotel robe is an important tool to express its hotel image and to increase guests' satisfaction of their services. Most hotel managers and consumers agreed that it is necessary to design hotel robes based on Korean images. They believe that redesigning the hotel robes based on Korean images would induce hotel guests to wear them and at the same time feel part of the Korean traditional culture. The Korean traditional motifs of Taegug, Un (cloud), JuJag (phoenix), and Kumkwan (gold crown) were used in the new design of the hotel robes. The style of new hotel robes is the Korean traditional Pho of the Three Kingdoms. The colors of new hotel robes are white and pink. Forty-three examiners evaluated the newly designed robes for their aesthetic, symbolic and distinctional values. They concurred that the new robes were much better than the current ones.
