  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the direct relationship between doctors and number of patients to be treated by applying many kinds of IE techniques. Generally, doctors in this research work both at Out Patient Data & In Patient Data. Under the hospital management system that they are applying in, doctor's daily working schedules are instable because the number of OPD patients daily. Therefore, the amount of time they spend for inward patients are variable too. So the numbers of patients have great influence to the whole hospital system management.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing performance of MultiDrug-Resistant Organisms (MDROs) infection control by nurses in general hospitals. Methods: The research design was a descriptive survey design using convenience sampling. Data were collected from 130 nurses working in 6 general hospitals. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 21.0 program for descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple regression analysis. Results: General hospital nurses' MDROs infection control performance was influenced by their awareness of environmental safety, recognition of MDROs infection control, number of beds in the hospital, whether nurses had nursing experience with infection control and guidelines for MDROs infection control. The most important predictors of MDROs infection control performance were awareness of environmental safety and recognition of MDROs infection control. Conclusion: Findings indicate that it is necessary to include content related to awareness of environmental safety and recognition of infection control in developing MDROs infection control education programs for general hospital nurses.

  • Skeletal anchorage-assisted upper molar distalization has become one of the standard treatment modalities for the correction of Class II malocclusion. The purpose of this study was to analyze maxillary molar movement patterns according to appliance design, with the simultaneous use of buccal fixed orthodontic appliances. The authors devised two distinct types of midpalatal miniscrew-assisted maxillary molar distalizers, a lingual arch type and a pendulum type. Fourteen patients treated with one of the two types of distalizers were enrolled in the study, and the patterns of tooth movement associated with each type were compared. Pre- and post-treatment lateral cephalograms were analyzed. The lingual arch type was associated with relatively bodily upper molar distalization, while the pendulum type was associated with distal tipping with intrusion of the upper molar. Clinicians should be aware of the expected tooth movement associated with each appliance design. Further well designed studies with larger sample sizes are required.

  • Purpose : The purpose of present study was to determine effects of action observation training on upper limb function after stroke. Training was progressed to imitation and intensive training after observation to required action in ADL. Methods : Among the single case study was used to ABA design. pre base line(A) was only collected participant information without intervention in 5 times. action observation intervention(B) was carried out 10 times and 5 times to base lime(A) after intervention. Results : Results indicated that 10-second test, box and block test, manual function test was increased when compared action observation intervention(B) to pre base line(A). Conclusion : To stroke action observation training was evaluated gross manipulation, dexterity and upper limb function in related with ADL. action observation training benefits were maintained after intervention(B) and showed improvement on upper limb function of stroke.

  • These days, hospitals in Korea have great interests in healthcare accreditation. The criteria of this accreditation has been established by management, but development of the management system without facility improvement has limits. Therefore this study reclassified domestic and foreign healthcare accreditation focusing on facilities and has purpose on proposing facility elements that can be adopted in hospitals. Also, the study is relevant to the study on architecture planning of hospital according to 'Patient safety' which will be suggested in the future and has significance for establishing basis of healthcare facility planning and for improving the existing facilities. The study selected facility lists from 'healthcare accreditation' and reclassified them based on departments in the hospital. Using these lists, the study divided the hospital that has obtained 'healthcare accreditation' into departments and investigated and analyzed them. On the basis of the analysis, the study suggested facility lists involved in hand washing, waste disposal, equipment washing, quarantine, goods-movement, establishing clean/polluted area, emergency exit-way, and restricted zone.

  • This paper is focused on the medical CRM system design for a hospital custom management. CRM systems provides information and seminars to whom are necessity. For this, priority retrieval and similarity retrieval are able to be in the personnel order and the regional. The customer receives the message which sends out from the hospital, The hospital manages the message which reveals a participation intention in the seminar at real-time. The hospital grasps the participation degree of the seminar where the customer will participate and manages the patients who participate to the seminar actively, and when the next seminar will be hold, we designed the system able to provide the service as early as possible.

  • Purpose: This study was designed to verify effects of perineal care with aroma essential oil on urinary tract infection(UTI) in patients with indwelling urinary catheter. Method: The research design was non equivalent control group pretest-post test design. The data were collected from March to August, 2005 at C university hospital in Seoul. The subjects were 43 patients who had a indwelling catheter in neurosurgery intensive care unit(NSICU). They were assigned to two groups, 21 subjects to the experimental group and 22 subjects to the control group. The experimental group received perineal care with 3% blending essential oil for 4 days. Results: In the experimental group, white blood cells and bacteria in urine were significantly lower than control group. Bacteria in urine culture was lower in the experimental group at post test. Conclusion: Perineal care with aroma essential oil could be an effective intervention to reduce the UTI of patients in NSICU.

  • Purpose: This study was done to identify the effects of semen sinapsis albae acupressure on fatigue and sleep among patients undergoing chemotherapy for breast neoplasms. Methods: The design was a nonequivalent control group nonsynchronized design. Participants were 46 hospitalized patients (23 in the experimental group and 23 in the control group) who were undergoing chemotherapy during November and December 2014. The experimental group underwent routine chemotherapy nursing care and at the same time received acupressure on the spots of Zoksamli, Samumgyo and Shinmun. The control group underwent routine chemotherapy nursing care. The data were analyzed using test and t-test with the SPSS 21.0 program. Results: The level of fatigue in the experimental group was lower than in the control group (t=5.82, p<.001). The level of sleep in the experimental group was higher than in the control group (t=-5.16, p<.001). Conclusion: The findings of the study indicate that acupressure is an effective nursing intervention to decrease fatigue and increase sleep in patients with breast neoplasm undergoing chemotherapy.

  • The hospitals built In the seventies and eighties have gone through many different extensions and renovations. However, as there had been no prior projections of the future extensions, irrational processes in terms of interdepartmental functional relocations and space availability have recurred. As well, areas and departments are located in several wings, which bring about a decrease in interdepartmental functional linkage, causing a lot of confusion and trouble in hospital management. Through this research we acquire concluding remarks. 1) To restore functional linkage in the whole hospital, strategy of interdepartmental relocation with the clinic-in-the clinic concept is the measure to minimize the problems of the increase in interdepartmental functional linkage since the clinic-in-the clinic concepts minimize circulation and maximizes efficiency of hospital management by making all the dispersed wings as professional as possible. 2) The measure of smooth circulation in order to resolve the problems of patients' difficulty in identifying directions and in decrease in staff's work performance, which arises from the extensions without considering the traffic systems of the whole hospital involves introduction of linear circulation systems in which connections between departments or areas can be made centering main axes of circulation. It is also a responsive measure to enhance the functional linkage between buildings and efficiency of patient's ease in identification of directions.

  • Hospitals contribute to energy consumption and have a negative environmental impact. This study aims to find how meaningful energy performance, reflecting good energy management and design, can be planned for hospital buildings, a category encompassing complex buildings with different setups and large differences between them. Energy-consumption characteristics were surveyed throughout Korea to establish statistical energy models. Findings confirm that different hospital departments have hugely different energy-demand profiles. Energy efficiency and energy-saving potentials on HVAC systems are presented. The energy performance analysis can be applied to a wide range of problems in energy-system design and planning, including simulations and optimizations of community energy systems.
