the horizontal corrosion fatigue tester has been developed for investigating environmental strength. Using this tester, we investigated about corrosion fatigue caracteristic for A106 GrB steel weldments in 3.5% synthetic seawater and room temperature. Considered parameter is only frequency of 1,3 and 5Hz. and Corrosion fatigue crack length was measured by DC potential difference method. From the results, we could find that the horizontal corrosion fatiued tester could be well applied to estimation of fatigue strength. and In case of 5Hz, corrosion fatigue crack growth path of A106 GrB steel weldment was transgranular, and of 1 and 3Hz showed that transgranular and intergranular was mixed. Also, Corrosion fatigue crack growth caracteristic values estimated in each frequency were C=9.33 x 10-9 and m=2.93 in 1Hz, C=9.77x10-10 and m=3.47 in 3Hz, C=1.02x10-10 and m=4.05 in 1Hz
In this paper, the unsteady 2-dimensional turbulent flow model for thermal stratification in a pressurizer surge line of PWR plant is proposed to numerically investigate the heat transfer and flow characteristics. The turbulence model is adapted to the low Reynolds number K-$\varepsilon$ model (Davidson model). The dimensionless governing equations are solved by using the SIMPLE (Semi-Implicit Method for Pressure Linked Equations) algorithm. The results are compared with simulated experimental results of TEMR Test. The time-dependent temperature profiles in the fluid and pipe nil are shown with the thermal stratification occurring in the horizontal section of the pipe. The corresponding thermal stresses are also presented. The numerical result for thermal stratification by the outsurge during heatup operation of PWR shows that the maximum dimensionless temperature difference is about 0.83 between hot and cold sections of pipe well and the maximum thermal stress is calculated about 322MPa at the dimensionless time 28.5 under given conditions.

The full-width, full-depth precast panel system is very efficient for the rehabilitation of deteriorated decks as well as for new bridge construction.. The horizontal bond strength at the interface between the two interconnected elements is of primary importance in order to achieve composite action. The strength of the bond between the two precast members should be high enough to prevent any progressive slip from taking place. However, the case when both of the interconnected elements are precast members bonded by means of grout, is not currently addressed by KBDC or AASHTO. This is the main impetus for this study. A total 43 push-off tests were performed to evaluate the horizontal bond strength and to recommend the best practice for the system. Test parameters included different interface surface conditions, different amount and different types of shear connectors. The presence of the shear keys at the top surface of the beam increased the interface bond capacity tremendously compared to the bond capacity with a different surface conditions.

In this paper, the propagation characteristics due to the horizontal water temperature variations in the sea such as thermal fronts is analyzed by the ray theory. Two models for the temperature anomaly layer are chosen. One is a plane type and the other is a cylindrical type. In the plane type, the temperature increases linearly from a isothermal region to 5km with the gradient of about $2^{\circ}C.$/km, and decreases with the same gradient in next 5km. In the cylindrical type, water temperature increases only with the same gradient from a half cylindrical thermal boundary surface. The result showed that the gradient of acoustic rays decreases in the temperature increasing region and vice versa in temperature decreasing region. And, the transmission loss due to the temperature variation was less than O.2dB in the plane type model as well as in the cylindrical one.
The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of vertical ground motion (VGM) on seismic behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) regular frame with construction joints, and determine more proper modeling method for cast-in-situ RC frame. The four-story RC frames in the regions of 7, 8 and 9 earthquake intensity were analyzed with nonlinear dynamic time-history method. Two different methods of ground motion input, horizontal ground motion (HGM) input only, VGM and HGM input simultaneously were performed. Seismic responses in terms of the maximum vertex displacement, the maximum inter-story drift distribution and the plastic hinge distribution were analyzed. The results show that VGM might increase or decrease the horizontal maximum vertex displacement depending on the value of axial load ratio of column. And it will increase the maximum inter-story drift and change its distribution. Finally, proper modeling method is proposed according to the distribution of plastic hinges, which is in well agreement with the actual earthquake damage.

This study analyzed data on the pore water pressure, the ground water level, the horizontal displacement and the resistivity monitoring from instrument system, which is established to evaluate the safety in reservoirs. The pore water pressure in the embankment ranged from $0.035{\sim}1.116kg/cm^2$. The seepage that piping showed, as well as the leakage from the reservoirs are acceptable for the safety management of the reservoir. The maximum horizontal displacement and direction analyzed from the measured inclinometer data gives us very effective information to evaluate the safety in reservoirs. The resistivity monitoring technique, which is obtained on the reservoir crest, is an efficient tool to detect leakage zone. The safety index (SI) was predicted by the resistivity monitoring, and was evaluated to have a safety level of 0.8-1.0 at all reservoirs. Safety evaluations of reservoir through instrument systems are effective when studying the embankment, when the results of the instrument system have been analyzed compositively.
The Korea Institute of Energy Research(KIER) has begun collecting horizontal global insolation data since May, 1982 at different locations. Because of a poor reliability of existing data, KIER's new data will be extensively used by the solar system users as well as by research institutes. But the quality of solar insolation data is not always good. This reports on an attempt to identify systematic error in such data using clear-day analysis for data rehabilitation. Clear-day analysis is successful in uncovering solar insolation data of questionable quality. It is not proven that rehabilitation process can improve the quality of data for daily or monthly means, but it is suggested that the method can be used to improve the quality of data for monthly means of several years for use in many applications of solar energy planning. Earlier studies finding a maximum ETR of about 0.80 are confirmed.

In this paper, we proposed a search method for structured light pixels of omnidirectional structured light image. Since the omnidirectional structured light image is composed of several circular arc segments, the proposed algorithm searches the structured light pixels in radial direction rather than horizontal or vertical directions. The proposed search algorithm is based on the well-known Bresenham raster algorithm for line drawing in discrete integer space, thereby computation of the algorithm is very efficient. Comparison results between the proposed search algorithm and the conventional horizontal search are presented in experiments.

Spatial green's functions for a horizontal magnetic dipole in a parallel-plate waveguide are expressed in an improved closed-form with two-level approximation of the spectral green's functions. The results evaluated by the present closed-from green's function with two-level approximation are compard with those obtained the previous closed-form green's function with one-level approximation. The present results are observed to be more acurate than the previous results over wide frequency range as well as whole spatial range. The combination of the present closed-form green's functions and the moment mehtod may help in analyzing the problem of EMP coupling through an aperture into a parallel-plat waveguide and the microstrip slot antenna with a reflector.

In this paper, two dimensional vertical and comer infinite elements which can include multiple wave components to model underlying half space are developed. These elements are natural and economical to model underlying stiff half space or rock. To verify the behavior of these infinite elements, vertical, horizontal, and rocking compliances of a rigid strip foundation on a viscoelastic soil profile are analyzed and compared with those of Tzong and Penzien who used the boundary solution method. Good agreements are noticed between the two methods. The influence of material properties like Poisson's ratio, material damping, and stiffness ratio of layers as well as the influence of geometrical properties such as layer thicknesses and depth of foundation embedment are studied. Example analysis is carried out for the shaking table which is located in KIMM(Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials), and the vertical and horizontal displacements of the analysis are compared with the measured, and show good results and demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method.
