A Study on Simulation of Chip Recycling System for the Management of Cutting Chip in 5-Axis FMS Line (5축 FMS라인의 절삭 칩 처리를 위한 칩 회수처리장치 시뮬레이션에 관한 연구)

  • The primary element of machining automation is to maximize the utilization of machine tools, which determines the output and lead-time. In particular, 95% of raw materials for wing ribs are cut into chips and 0.6 ton of chips are generated every hour from each machine tool. In order to verify the chip recycling system that controls the chips from the machines in five-axis FMS line, a simulation of the virtual model is constructed using the QUEST simulation program. The optimum speed of the chip conveyor and its operating conditions that directly affect the efficiency of the FMS line are presented including the chip conveyor speed, the maximum capacity of the hopper, and the number of chip compressors.

  • A tractor attached TMR(model 430) mixer has been developed in a previous study. However, the mixer was found to be improved through field applications in its capacity, manufacturing cost, ergonomic design and power-train requirement. The TMR mixer was modified into a model TMR500, approved by Institute of Agricultural Mechanization, as follows : 1. Roughage cutting system was seperated from the mixer, resulting in the 33% reduction of manufacturing cost. 2. Enlarged hopper capacity enabled to feed 60 heads at a batch. 3. Hydraulically controlled gate system saved ergonomic man power. 4. Power transmission system was changed from a chain-sprocket system(27:1) to the gear-train reduction system(38.6:1) to satisfy the recommended use of 540rpm PTO input.

Development of a Pick-up Device for Plug-Seedlings (플러그묘 취출장치 개발)

  • A seedling pick-up device for vegetable transplanters was developed and its work performance was evaluated at the laboratory. The pick-up device extracts seedlings from a 200-cell tray of seedlings and transfers them to the place where they are to be transplanted into the soil. The device consists of a path generator, pick-up pins and a pin driver. The path generator is a five-bar mechanism comprised of a fixed link, a driving link, a driven link, a connecting link and a slider. The slider is constrained to move along the driven link and a fixed slot of combined straight-line and circular paths. The connecting link joins the driving link and the slider. When the slider moves along the straight-line path of the slot it takes seedlings out from the cell and transfers them to the transplanting hopper when moving along the circular path. A proto-type of the pick-up device was built and tested under the various operational conditions such as age of seedling, approach direction and penetration depth of pins to the cell, holding method of seedling and extracting velocity. The device extracted 30 seedlings per minute with the maximum success ratio of 97% using the seedlings of 23 days old. Some design details were also discussed and suggested to enhance the performance of the device.

Biology of a predatory bug Eocanthecona furcellata Wolff (Hemiptera : Pentatomidae) on Vapourer tussock moth larvae: a major pest of tasar silkworm food plants

  • Tropical Tasar culture is forest and agro-based activity that covers agricultural and industrial activity. Tasar silk is produced by the silkworm, Antheraea mylitta which is polyphagous in nature. A large number of pests are reported to attack both the host plant as well as silkworm. As the rearing is conducted outdoor silkworms are exposed to attack of various pests during their life cycle. Eocanthecona furcellata (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) is the major predator of tasar silkworm during young age rearing. Both nymphs and adults of the stink bug suck the heamolymph of silkworm leading to death. The present work was undertaken to study the life cycle of E. furcellata on larvae of vapourer tussock moth which is a major pest of tasar host plants. The incubation period, nymphal duration and total developmental period from egg to adult was $8.0{\pm}0.45d$, $16.0{\pm}3.24$ and $22.0{\pm}4.20d$, respectively. Pre-oviposition, oviposition and longevity of male and female stink bug was $3.20{\pm}0.38$, $17.60{\pm}1.86$, $42.40{\pm}1.94$, $37.00{\pm}3.18d$, respectively. Analysis of the data revealed no significant difference in life cycle of the predator when provided silkworm and vapourer tussock moth larvae as hosts. Which clearly indicates that E. furcellata can multiply on vapourer tussock moth larvae during non rearing periods. Adoption of recommended pest control measures for defoliators of tasar host plants during non-rearing periods will help in reducing the incidence of host plant pests and also in reducing the incidence of stink bug during rearing season. During the study it was also observed that larvae semilooper, boll headed caterpillar and nymphs of leaf hopper serve as alternate/secondary hosts to E. furcellata during non rearing seasons.

A Study on Durability Enhancement of Hopper of the Transplanter (정식기 호퍼 내구성 향상에 관한 연구)

  • 정식기는 주로 노외에서 사용되므로 사용자에 따라 극심한 작업환경 하에 놓일 수 있다. 사용 중 정식기 호퍼에 토양이나 자갈, 돌 등에 의해 반복적인 하중이 가해지거나 순간적인 충격하중이 가해져 취약부가 파손될 가능성이 있으므로, 토양과 직접 맞닿는 삽날부의 경우 내구성을 고려한 설계/제작이 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 보행형 반자동 정식기 개발에서 고추묘와 같은 초장이 긴 작물의 묘를 효과적으로 이식할 수 있도록 개선된 삽날에 대해 기존 삽날과 강도 및 강성을 비교하고, 그 결과가 삽날의 내구성에 미칠 영향에 대하여 고찰하였다. 실험에는 양날 개폐 방식의 기존 및 개선삽날 2종이 사용되었으며, 각각 3회씩 정적 강도를 평가하였다. 실제 정식기 사용시 하중이 가해지는 방향은 삽날에 수직한 방향의 압축하중으로 이를 모사하여 일정변위 속도로 삽날에 하중을 가하였으며, 시험 진행시 DAQ 시스템을 통해 실시간으로 하중 및 변위 데이터를 저장하여 시험 종료 후 해당 데이터를 이용하여 $P-{\delta}$ 선도를 도출하였다. 시험 결과 기존삽날의 평균 최대하중이 개선삽날에 비해 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 최대 하중이 나타나는 지점의 변위의 경우, 기존삽날이 개선삽날에 비해 짧게 나타났다. 정적 강도측면에서 개선삽날이 기존삽날에 비해 최대 강도가 낮은 것으로 판단할 수 있으나, 실제 호퍼의 내구성에 영향을 줄 수 있는 주요 인자는 반복적으로 가해지는 비교적 낮은 수준의 충격하중으로 볼 수 있다. 이러한 관점에서 볼 때 일정 수준 이상의 강도를 가지면서, 기존삽날에 비해 낮은 강성을 가지는 개선삽날이 변형을 통한 충격에너지 흡수로 오히려 삽날 조립체(호퍼)의 내구성 측면에서 유리할 수 있다. 따라서 향후에는 기존 및 개선삽날을 적용한 호퍼에 대해 피로시험을 수행하여 관련 내용을 실험적으로 검증하고자 한다.

Performance Evaluation of Hopper Kinetic Trajectory for Riding Type Automatic Transplanter (승용형 채소 정식기의 식부호퍼 운동 궤적 성능평가시험)

  • 국내 농촌의 인구고령화, 여성화 증가로 인한 농촌노동력 감소 문제를 해결하기 위해 농업기계자동화에 관한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 연구는 자동화농업기계 중 자동 이식기의 성능평가 기술을 개발하기 위해 수행되었으며 이를 위해 자동 정식기의 핵심부품인 이식호퍼의 결주율, 이식율, 주간간격, 운동궤적 등을 측정할 수 있는 원형토조 실험장치를 개발하였다. 원형토조 실험장치는 원형토조, 이식호퍼 구동장치, 컨트롤러로 구성되어 있으며 이식호퍼의 회전속도(rpm)를 조절하여 주간간격을 조절할 수 있고 초고속 카메라를 이용하여 이식호퍼의 운동궤적을 측정할 수 있다. 이식작물로 고추, 양배추, 브로콜리의 3종류의 육묘를 이용하여 이식호퍼의 회전속도를 20~60 rpm 구간에서 10 rpm 단위로 속도조건변화를 주고 결주율과 이식율을 측정하였다. 이식호퍼 rpm 속도에 따른 주간거리는 190~560 mm로 나타났다. 각 rpm 단수, 작물별 평균 이식율은 고추육묘가 약 97%, 양배추육묘가 약 94%, 브로콜리육묘가 약 95%로 나타났다. 또한 초고속 카메라를 이용하여 측정한 이식호퍼의 운동궤적을 통해 선진사 제품과 대비하여 차이를 보인 것을 확인하였다. 향후 원형토조 실험장치를 이용해 다양한 작물 및 토양조건에서의 실험 및 토양저항 측정장치 개발을 통해 이식작업 진행중에 호퍼에 걸리는 부하에 대한 성능평가시험을 할 계획이다.

Root-zone Placement of Carbofuran for Control of Rice Insect Pests (Carbofuran 수도근계처리의 해충방제효과)

  • During 1976 the effects of carbofuran placement in the root zone of the rice plants, the varieties Palkweng and Yushin, were evaluated for control of common rice pests in the paddy field at the Honam Crops Experiment Station. The methods of insecticide placement included the use of capsule formulation and liquid injection by the root-zone liquid insecticide injector designed at the International Rice Research Institute. The single ro~t-zone application of carbofuran at 2 days after transplanting was compared with two and fcur broadcast applications of carbofuran and diazinon. Capsules were the most. effective in controlling the striped rice borer (Chilo suppressalis), small brown plant-hopper (Laodelphax striatellus), green rice leafhopper (Nephotettix cincticeps) and stripe virus disease which is transmitted by the small brown planthopper. However, one injector application of carbofuran was equal or better the broadcast applications. Their control effectiveness were more significant on Palkweng susceptible to common rice pests than on Yushin resistant to the stripe virus disease.

  • 본 연구는 강우시 주로 발생되는 강우유출수에 의해 하천으로 직유입 되는 다량의 오염물질을 사전에 저감시키기 위하여 하천의 제방사면부와 둔치부를 형상화한 Pilot 규모의 수처리시스템에 관한 것이다. 본 Pilot Plant는 경희대학교 내 하수처리장 부근에 설치하였으며, 유입부, 사면수처리부, 평면수처리부, 유출부로 구성되며, 수처리조 내부에 다공성여재와 상부에는 식생을 조성하여 연속적으로 운영되는 시스템으로 설계되었다. 사면수처리부는 하천의 제방사면부를 형상화 한 것으로 2:1의 구배를 가지며, 15개의 육각형 모듈을 5개씩 3계열로 배치하여 여재의 처리효율 및 현장 적용성 검토를 실시할 수 있도록 배열하였다. 평면수처리부는 장방형의 접촉산화조로서 하부에 슬러지 침전 및 저류를 위한 hopper를 설치하여 슬러지의 원활한 수집 및 인발이 가능하도록 설계하였다. 또한, 역세를 위한 배관을 설치하여 여재에 부착된 슬러지의 양 조절이 가능하도록 하였다. 또한, 수처리시설물의 자연 친화성 확보 및 식생에 의한 수질개선 효과를 위해 수처리부 상부에 식생을 조성하였다. 본 Pilot Plant의 주요 오염물질의 제거기작은 수처리부 내부에 충진된 다공성 여재와 강우유출수 사이에 발생되는 침전, 여과, 흡착과 여재에 부착된 미생물에 의한 유기물 분해, 식생에 의한 영양물질 섭취 등으로 대별된다. 본 연구는 하천의 제방사면부와 둔치부를 형성화한 Pilot Plant에서 다양한 factor, 즉 유입수량과 농도, 다공성여재 형상 및 충진밀도 등에 따른 수질개선 효과를 각각 비교, 검토하였다.

Development of a Controller for Variable-rate Application of Granular Fertilizer (입제 비료의 변량 살포를 위한 제어기 개발)

  • This study was conducted to design and fabricate a controller for variable-rate application of granular fertilizer based on physical and chemical information, to analyze the performance of the controller and characteristics of a discharger. The result of the study are summarized as follows: 1. The charge ratios of discharger by accumulation heights of fertilizer in hopper were examined, and the variations in charge ratio were $72.58{\sim}93.33%$ and $63.14{\sim}94.42%$ for the fertilizers Super 21 and Sinsedae, respectively. The charge ratio also decreased as the rotational speed of discharger increased. 2. The coefficient of variation of discharge amount by rotational speed and discharge time of discharger were in the range of $2.94{\sim}11.23%$ and $2.82{\sim}10.80%$ for the fertilizer of Super 21 and Sinsedae. Except the rotational speed of 12 rpm, the coefficient of variation for discharge amount were relatively small with 4% more or less 3. In order to evaluate the rotational speed of discharger, the control signal in the range of $0{\sim}5V$ was subdivided into the 50 steps by 0.1V. The regression equation for the rotational speed of discharger was Y=55.984X-79.174(X: input voltage, V, Y: discharger speed, RPM) and the $R^2$ was 0.99. 4. In order to evaluate the performance of the controller for variable-rate application of granular fertilizer, settling time to unit step input was examined. The settling time varied from 0.8sec to 1.4 sec.

Temperature Control of Injection Molding Machine using PI Controller with Input Restriction (PI 제어기의 입력제한을 이용한 사출 성형기 온도제어)

  • Injection molding is the most common method of shaping plastic resins for manufacturing a variety of parts. This injection molding is accomplished by injection molding machines (IMM) which consists of a hewer, a reciprocating screw, barrel assembly, and an injection nozzle. The plastic resin is fed to the machine through the hopper and it should be heated to the target melting temperature, which depends on material properties, as closely as possible with very small temperature overshoot in the barrel. Since the barrel, which has temperature dependent specific heat and thermal conductivity in the operating temperature range, is heated by the several electric heater bands, it is not an easy task to control the temperature of the barrel owing to the interference of neighboring heaters and its material properties. Though PID controller with auto-tuning capability is widely adopted in the nm, the auto-tuning process should be carried out whenever the operating temperature is changed significantly. Recently, though the predictive controller is developed and shows good performance, it has drawbacks: 1. Since the heat transfer modeling process is very complicated and should be carried out again when the barrel is changed, it is somewhat inappropriate in the field. 2. The controller performance is not validated in whole operating temperature range. In this paper, cascade type simple PI controller with input restriction is proposed to find the possibility of controlling the barrel temperature in the whole operating temperature range. It is shown by experiment that the proposed controller shows good performance. This result can be applied to design of PI controller with auto-tuning capability.
