Water flow into unsaturated soils is most often modeled by Richards equation consisting of the mass conservation law and Darcy's law. Three standard forms of Richards equation are presented as the head (${\Psi}$)-based form, the moisture content (${\theta}$) based form, and the mixed form. Numerical solutions of these partial differential equations with highly nonlinear terms can cause poor results along with significant mass balance errors. The numerical solution based on the mixed form of Richards equation is known that the mass is perfectly conserved without any additional computational efforts. The aim of this study is to develop fully implicit numerical scheme of Richards equation for one-dimensional vertical unsaturated flow in homogeneous soils using the finite difference approximation, and then to perform sensitivity analysis of infiltration to the variations in the unsaturated soil properties and to different soil types.

In $BaTiO_3-NaNbO_3$ system, complete series of solid solution occurs and $30BaTiO_3{cdot}70NaNbO_3$ composition is congruently melted. Single crystals of $30BaTiO_3{cdot}70NaNbO_3$, composition were grown by Czochralski method in this investigation. Single crystals with dimensions of 15 - 20mm diameter and 20 - 30mm length, were grown at the pulling rate of 2.0mm/h and the rotation rate of 5.0 -l0rpm. Core structures were found in the grown crystals and inclusions, cellular boundaries existed at the core region. The origin of core occuring was unstability of the crystal- melt interface due to the poor conductivity of latent heat through the crystal during the crystal growing process. Obtained crystals were optically homogeneous except the core region and showed high optical transmittance in the visible range.

In order to make high purity materials including low contents of interstitial impurities, 70 ㎾ electron beam melter was manufactured. The sponge Ti and Ti-6Al-4V alloy were required and melted by electron beam melter. Based on the experimental results of sponge Ti refining by electron beam melting, the purity of Ti was increased for 180 seconds but thereafter did not significantly vary. In addition, it was found that with number of melting, the purity of Ti did and vary but the yield of Ti was decreased. As a results of Ti refining, high purity Ti of 3N (99.9 wt%) could be obtained including interstitial impurities with total contents of which were maximum 900 ppm. From the experimental results of Ti-6Al-4V alloy electron beam melting, the amounts of Al loss could be estimated through thermodynamic data calculated from the regular solution model and the model of solute removal kinetics and the alloy composition calculated from the models was in accord with the experimental composition of the alloy, It took 10 minutes to make Ti-29Al-4V alloy calculated from the model into Ti-6Al-4V alloy and the composition of Ti-6Al-4V alloy was very homogeneous.
In this study photoadsorption propreties of Ag ion in AgNO$_3$ solution by TiO$_2$nanopowder synthesized by homogeneous precipitation process at low temperature were investigated. It was found that the photocatalytic redliction in AgNO$_3$solution was occurred by TiO$_2$nanopowder even under th sun light irradiation, although the reduction of Ag ions was slow with th small adsorption of 9.32 ppm. Notably the Ag adsorption was promoted in th dark condition probably owing to the chestnut bur shape of TiO$_2$ nanopowder itself. In the application of UV the Ag ions were completely adsorbed within 120 min, showing more significant photocatalytic reaction. The measured adsorption reaction rate and adsorption equilibrium rate constants were 0.0004 g/min and 1494.20(120 $m^2$/g), respectively.

Photo catalytic characteristics of nano-sized TiO$_2$ powder with rutile phase produced using homogeneous precipitation process at low temperatures (HPPLT) were compared with those of commercial P-25 powder by Degussa Co. The TiO$_2$ powder by HPPLT showed very higher photoactivity in the removal rate, showing lower pH values in the solution, than the P-25 powder when eliminating metal ions such as Pb and Cu from aqueous metal-EDTA solutions. This can be inferred the more rapid photo-oxidation or -reduction of metal ions from the aqueous solution, together with relatively higher efficiencies in the use of electron-hole pair formed on the surface of TiO$_2$ particle, under UV light irradiation. Also, in the view of the TiO$_2$ particle morphology, compared to the well-dispersed spherical P-25 particle, the agglomerated TiO$_2$ particle by HPPL T consists of acicular typed primary particle with the thickness ranged of 3∼7 nm, which would be more effective to the photocatalytic reactions without electron-hole recombination on the surface of the TiO$_2$ particle under the UV light irradiation. It is, therefore, thought that the higher photo activity of the rutile TiO$_2$ powder by HPPLT in the aqueous solutions resulted from having its higher specific surface area as well as acicular shape primary particle with very thin thickness.
PHEAs [${\alpha}$,${\beta}$-poly(2-hydroxyethyl-DL-aspartamides)], a class of poly(amino acid), have been widely studied as biodegradable and biocompatible polymers for potential biomedical and pharmaceutical applications. In this study, we investigated a homogeneous blend of PHEA with poly(N-vinyl pyrrolidone) (PNVP) and its semi-IPN (semi-interpenetrating polymer network) gels. Blend films were prepared by a solution casting method. The resulting blends were totally transparent over the whole composition ranges and the single $T_g$, changing monotonously with composition, was observed by DSC to confirm the miscibility between these two polymers. FTIR was used to discuss the possible hydrogen-bonding interaction between polymers. In addition, semi-IPN type gels were prepared by chemical crosslinking of PHEA/PNVP blend solution using hexamethylene diisocyanate (HMDI) as a crosslinking reagent. The prepared gel was characterized by their swelling property and morphology.
In the previous paper(Kim et al, 1986), the alkaline proteinase from the pyloric caeca of mackerel was shown relatively strong activity in the alkaline pH range. Therefore purification of the enzyme has been undertaken to identify the proteolytic enzyme and three alkaline proteinases were isolated by ammonium sulfate fractionation, DEAE-Sephadex A-50 column chromatography and Sephadex G-100 gel filtration. One percent sodium chloride solution was the most effective for the extraction of alkaline proteinase from the pyloric caeca of mackerel. Three alkaline proteinases temporarily designated Enz. A, B and C were isolated from the pyloric caeca of mackerel, and identified to be homogeneous with electrophoresis. The specific activity of the purified Enz. A, B and C was increased to 34, 53 and 37-fold over the crude enzyme solution, respectively. Yield of them was 1.6, 2.1 and $1.5\%$, respectively, and a combined yield was $5.2\%$.

2-Ethylhexanoate compounds which contained Y, Er, Yb, Ba, and Cu were prepared separately. These metallo-organic compounds were dissolved together in the common solvent and the solution was homogeneous. From these solution, high $T_c$ superconductors $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-\delta}(Y_{123})$, $ErBa_2Cu_3O_{7-\delta}(Er_{123})$, and $YbBa_2Cu_3O_{7-\delta}(Yb_{123})$ were prepared. XRD analysis showed that these superconductors were not single phase and contained some impurity phases including $YBa_2Cu_4O_8(Y_{124})$. This was also confirmed from the magnetic susceptibility measurement. Generally, critical temperatures were higher than that of the superconductors prepared by ceramic method. Volume diamagnetic susceptibility showed little variation compared to the specimen made by ceramic method.

Groundwater seepage into a tunnel is one of the main causes triggering tunnel collapse and the consequent ground subsidence. Thus, it is important to estimate adequately the groundwater inflow rate and porewater pressure change during tunneling with time elapse. In current practice, Goodman's analytical solution (or image tunnel method) assuming homogeneous ground condition around a tunnel is commonly used for estimating groundwater inflow rate. However, the generally-used analytical solution for estimating groundwater inflow rate does not consider groundwater level drawdown and permeability change with depth, and the inflow rate can be overestimated in design phase. In this study, parametric study was performed in order to investigate the effect of groundwater level drawdown and permeability reduction with depth, and transient flow analysis was carried out for studying the inflow rate change as well as groundwater level and porewater pressure change around a tunnel with time elapse.

This paper proposes CAC method that is more efficient for RRM using game theory combined with Multiple Attribute Decision Making(MADM). Because users request services with different Quality of Service(QoS), the network preference values to alternative networks for each service are calculated by MADM methods such as Grey Relational Analysis(GRA), Simple Additive Weighting(SAW) and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution(TOPSIS). According to a utility function representing preference value, non-cooperative game is played, and then network provider select the requested service that provide maximum payoff. The appropriate service is selected through Nash Equilibrium that is the solution of game and the game is played repeated. We analyze two overlaid networks among four Wireless LAN(WLAN) systems with different properties. Simulation results show that proposed MADM techniques have same outcomes for every game round.
