This study was conducted to identify the current situation of home care nursing research and to propose future research in the area of home care nursing in Korea. The design was a retrospective descriptive study based on 171 studies. The studies were collected from nursing academic magazines, the national library web site and dissertations on home care. The data were classified according to the independent and dependent variables which were represented in the research title. The final category classification was defined by considering the research objectives and content as found in the 171 studies. Eight categories were created to describe the results of home care nursing research in Korea. They included: home care needs. home care services. home care costs. development of home care programs and equipment. management of home care services. effectiveness of home care services, development of an educational curriculum for home care, and recognition of home care services. Based on our research we have identified other future research areas that need to be developed such as community needs assessment, standards and guidelines for home care nursing, quality assurance and quality improvement for controlling home care quality, home care informatics. and a system of home care cost and ethics.

Purpose: This study is to investigate the recognition regarding Hospital - Based Home Care Service among physicians and nurses in a G University Hospital. Method: Data were gathered from 92 physicians and 257 nurses. working at G University Hospital. from January 15 to January 22. 2003 by questionnaire. The data were analyzed by using the SPSS/PC +. Result: 1) As to the previous information about a hospital based home care service. those who have been familiar to it were 85.9% of the physicians. and 98.8% of the nurses. 55.4% of the physicians and 55.1% of the nurses responded that they are willing to refer their patients to the home health care only if their patients and families want to. 47.8% of the physicians and 44.4% of the nurses perceived the present cost of a hospital based home care service to be moderate. 2) Most of the physicians and nurses reported that the most available service was 'wound dressing' (98.4%, 92.6%) and the least available service was 'incision and drainage'(1l7.4%, 42.8%). 3) As to the necessity of home nursing business and the anticipated effects. nurses perceived higher than physicians($3.46\pm.74$). and both showed a significant difference according to age of subjects. Conclusion: For the stabilization and successful implementation of a hospital based home care service. it should be accompanied with education programs about home care for physicians. in particular junior staff.

Objective : To explore the effectiveness of sensory integration program of home-based outcomes in child with sensory modulation disorder. Methods : This study used the simple case study. The subjects were three children diagnosed as developmentally delayed who 14 month and 26 month males and a 15 month female. After initial evaluation, parents were educated on sensory diet and Wilbarger protocol method for 30 minutes twice for home-based treatment and asked to make out daily treatment planning. To measure improvement of children, we used for the Denver Developmental Screening Test II(DDST II), Wee Functional Independence Measure(WeeFIM), hand function, functional ability, oral motor function, Sensory Profile(Dunn, 1999). Results : After the home-based program, the scored of the Denver Developmental Screening Test II(DDST II), Wee Functional Independence Measure(WeeFIM), hand function, functional ability, oral motor function, Sensory Profile(Dunn, 1999) were higher rather than initial evaluation after the home-based program. Conclusion : The home-based program is effective for children with sensory modulation disorder but parents had to be educated by therapist specific evaluation and treatment in sensory integration.

Purpose: This study aimed to clarify the needs for hospital-based home care nursing medical services in elder care institutions by analyzing the details and frequency of medical services provided by, and the needs for, hospital based home care nursing in select institutions in Korea. Methods: Seventy-seven staffs at elderly care institutions located throughout the country completed self-report questionnaires between February 1 and May 31, 2009. SPSS ver. 14.0 was used for data analysis regarding frequency and percentage, mean and standard deviation. Results: Forty-eight hospital-based home care nursing medical services in eight domains were identified as being needed in elderly care institutions. The most commonly used medical services were providing instruction in oral drug administration, checking drug beneficial/adverse effects, and administering blood glucose test, while the most needed medical services requiring hospital based home care nursing were complex pressure ulcer care, followed by diabetic foot ulcer management and nutrient injection. Conclusion: The present results should provide fundamental data for better healthcare services with hospital based home care nursing at elderly care institutions as part of a 'win-win' strategy through which medical expenses are reduced, insurance costs are kept stable, and safe and high-quality medical services are provided for residents of elder care institutions. Political decisions intended to promote visits by hospital based home care nurses to elder care institutions would be a prudent course.

This study examined housework time management strategies between married female home-based workers and on-site workers, and found out the factors affecting the housework time management strategies. The data were collected from 165 married female home-based workers, and 292 married female on-site workers in Pusan and Kyungnam province, by self-administered questionnaire. Frequency distributions, Cronbachs alpha, t-tests, Pearsons correlations, and multiple regression analyses were conducted by SPSS/PC+. The major findings of this study were kas follows: 1) Married female home-based workers more used obtaining additional help and personal time reallocation than married female on-site workers. 2) For married female home-based workers, educational attainment and occupation were significant factors affecting housework time management strategies, and for married female on-site workers, employment hours per week and existence of elders/disability within the family were important variables.

In the materialistic societies, individuals get money return according to the importance of their roles. But unlike wage workers who are engaged in market production , housewives engaged in home production do not get that return. It is because the result of home production is not transacted in the market and the price is not given to it, so the value of home production is not estimated. Hence this study trcognizes again the value of home production, suggests the estimation methods of it in input and output based on home production systems and attempts to actualize those methods socially. This home production develops the human attributes of family members to act as a member of a society and potentially contributes to home income and Gross National Products, so it has social and economic value. In spite of that significance, the value of home production is not estimated, so its nor recognized and housewives engaged in home production are not acknowledged their ability. Hence based on home production systems form input to output, this study suggested opportunity cost method and market cost method in input, method by saving money expenditure, hybrid method and method by comparing with market in output.

본 논문에서는 기존 홈오토메이션 시스템보다 효율적이고 능동적인 시스템 모델을 제안하며, 기존 시스템의 한계점을 해결하기 위해서 지능형 이동 로봇을 사용한다. 제안된 시스템은 집안에서 사용하기에 적합하도록 특화된 로봇을 사용하며, 이 로봇은 사람 대신 집안을 돌아다닌다. 이 시스템 모델을 HAuPIRS (Home Automation system using PDA based Intelligent Robot System) 라고 부르기로 한다. HAuPIRS제어 구조는 사용자 레벨, 인지 레벨, 실행 레벨의 세 파트로 구성된다. 이 시스템은 사용하기 쉽고, 기술의 발전에 따른 새로운 가전기기가 나오더라도 확장이 가능하다 HAuPIRS제어 구조의 성능을 검증하기 위해서 HAuPIRS 제어 구조를 기반으로 한 PBMoRo System (PDA Based Mobile Robot System) 을 만들어 실험하였다.

This paper describes the ubiquitous home network (uHome-net) testbed and LonRF intelligent devices based on LonWorks technology. These devices consist of Neuron Chip, RF transceiver, sensor, and other peripheral components. Using LonRF devices, a home control network can be simplified and most devices can be operated on LonWorks control network. Also, Indoor Positioning System (IPS) that can serve various location based services was implemented in uHome-net. Smart Badge of IPS, that is a special LonRF device, can measure the 3D location of objects in the indoor environment. In the uHome-net testbed, remote control service, cooking help service, wireless remote metering service, baby monitoring service and security ＆ fire prevention service were realized. This research shows the vision of the ubiquitous home network that will be emerged in the near future.

The purpose of this study was to estimate the population requiring nursing home services for frail elders who received home care nursing services. This study identified the need of nursing home services and the proportion of elders over 60 years of age requiring nursing home services according to the admission eligibility including items with intensity of home care nursing services and the criteria for screening of patients requiring home care nursing services. In this study, survey research design was conducted. A total of 49 home care nurses were collected. They were asked to assess the need of nursing home services based on items with intensity of home care nursing services and the criteria for screening of patients requiring home care nursing services. Using secondary data analysis from the survey on 'The Evaluation of Home Care Nursing Service Program in 1994 in Korea', the proportion of elders requiring nursing home services was estimated. The estimated numbers and proportion of frail elders requiring nursing home services were 169 (86.2%) aged persons among community dwelling elders based on admission eligibility. However, the proportion of aged persons was 68% using the only criteria for screening of patients requiring for screening home care nursing services.

The applications of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) are progressively adopting for various smart home services such as home automation, controlling smart home household appliances, constrained application services in a smart home, etc. However, enabling a seamless and ubiquitous WSN communication between the smart home appliances is still a challenging job. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a smart home control system using an Actuator based ZigBee networking (AZNET). The working of the proposed system is further divided into three phases, 1) an interference avoidance system is adopted to mitigate the effect of interference caused due to the co-existence of IEEE 802.11x based wireless local area networks (WLAN) and WSN, 2) a sensor-based smart light control system is used to fulfill the light requirement in the smart home using the sunlight with light source, and 3) an autonomous home management system is used to regulate the usage time of the electronic appliances in the smart home. The smart is tested in real time environment to use the sunlight with light sources in a various time of the day. Similarly, the performance of the proposed smart home is verified through simulation using C# programming language. The results and analysis revealed that the proposed smart home is less affected by the interference and efficient in reducing the energy consumption of the appliances available in the smart home scenario.
