Optimization of hole-making operations in manufacturing industry plays a vital role. Tool travel and tool switch planning are the two major issues in hole-making operations. Many industrial applications such as moulds, dies, engine block, automotive parts etc. requires machining of large number of holes. Large number of machining operations like drilling, enlargement or tapping/reaming are required to achieve the final size of individual hole, which gives rise to number of possible sequences to complete hole-making operations on the part depending upon the location of hole and tool sequence to be followed. It is necessary to find the optimal sequence of operations which minimizes the total processing cost of hole-making operations. In this work, therefore an attempt is made to reduce the total processing cost of hole-making operations by applying relatively new optimization algorithms known as shuffled frog leaping algorithm and proposed modified shuffled frog leaping algorithm for the determination of optimal sequence of hole-making operations. An industrial application example of ejector plate of injection mould is considered in this work to demonstrate the proposed approach. The obtained results by the shuffled frog leaping algorithm and proposed modified shuffled frog leaping algorithm are compared with each other. It is seen from the obtained results that the results of proposed modified shuffled frog leaping algorithm are superior to those obtained using shuffled frog leaping algorithm.

Micro-EDM technology (or the manufacture of miniature parts is used to make a micro hole. Two electrode shaping methods, mechanical electrode grinding and WEDG technique, have been studied. In this study, an electrode shaping method by using previously machined hole is introduced in order to obtain an optimal hole-making condition. Key factors such as applied voltage, capacitance, feedrate, and hole-dimension have an influence on the fabricating error of electrode shaping, which are taper ratio of a hole, electrode form accuracy, and electrode surface. Therefore, we try to investigate the optimal fabricating of electrode shaping from various experiments. Results from experiments, it was able to minimize the electrode fabricating error as voltage increases, and also applied feedrate and capacitance decreases.
Interior permanent magnet synchronous motor [IPMSM] which has high power density is applied to motor for Hybrid electric vehicle[HEV], Electric vehicle[EV], Fuel cell electric vehicle[FCEV] and electric home appliances. In order to improve efficiency performance of IPMSM, this paper presented a study by making a hole around air barrier. Because concentrated rib stress is distributed by suitable hole, the hole can reduce rib thickness of IPM rotor. And it can help decrease PM[Permanent Magnet] leakage flux. Saliency ratio($L_q/L_d$) is also increased by magnetic circuit change. For this study, structure analysis of rotor is performed by Ansys program.

Recently, the use of aluminum components in the reduction of the vehicle weight to improve fuel efficiency and reduce carbon dioxide emissions has increased. In the aluminum machining cutting process, hole-making is an important process that accounts for 30% of the machining process. Although many studies have been conducted using the continuously advancing hole processing technology, studies on the machinability of the tool depending on the type of chuck on the workpiece are still lacking. In this study, the machining performance of cemented carbide burnishing drills was compared and analyzed according to chuck type. The burnishing drill was used to create a hole in the AL6061 workpiece, and the surface roughness and dimensional accuracy of the hole were examined according to the type of chuck while monitoring the spindle load.
The purpose of this study is to analyze present the pattern making of the lining fabrics calculating the right ease and rising quantities of arm-hole when the pattern of the lining fabrics of stretchable jacket fabrics is produced. The outcomes of this study are as follows. The right ease of lining fabrics was not room of 0cm as patterns being same the right side of fabrics in the girth of the chest, waist, and the edge of a garment and gets the most excellent valuation, and then the girth of the chest, and waist was applied to 2cm and around the edge of a garment 0cm in regular lining fabrics. In addition to, although the ease of patterns of the lining fabrics was more, it was not necessarily to satisfy. The result of the valuation according to the quantities of rising arm-hole of the pattern of the lining fabrics showed that the making lining fabrics that the quantities of rising arm-hole was 0.8cm in the body and 1.2cm in the sleeve in the both the stretchable fabrics and regular lining fabrics was the most excellent thing, and then 0cm in the body and 2cm in the sleeve, and then 0cm in the body and 0cm in the sleeve. The valuation of external appearance on the quantities of rising arm-hole was recognized similarly because of being rarely significance level, but around the chest and waist was recognized as being significance level in wearing satisfaction.

The hub hole is usually formed with a flanging process followed by a blanking process of a ]tole. Since the hole is made by blanking, the blanked surface is so rough that the formability in the region is rather poor. The emerging task is to identify the formability of the blanked region in the forming simulation and to relate the criterion to the real forming process by experiments. In this paper, hole expansion tests are carried out with respect to various hole conditions to verify the hole condition effect on the hole expansion ratio. The hole of specimens is made by machining or punching. In the case of punching, two different punching clearances are used for making the hole. From the results of test, fracture mechanism of the hole expansion is explained.
Order allocation is one of the most important decision-making problems of firms having significant influences on performances of themselves and the whole supply chain. Existing researches about order allocation have mainly focused on evaluating capabilities of directly connected suppliers so that it is hard to consider effects and interactions from undirected connections over multiple lower-layers. To alleviate the limitation, this paper proposed a novel approach to order allocation using structural hole. By applying the concept of structural hole to the supply network, we could evaluate the structural supplying powers of firms with respect to both of direct and indirect connections. In the proposed approach, we derived a methodology to measure the potential supplying power of each firm by modifying the effective size as one of the measurements of structural hole and then, proposed its application, the structural hole based order allocation strategy. Furthermore, we conducted the agent based modeling of supply chain to perform the decision-making process of order allocation and simulated the proposed strategy. As a results, by coping with the variance of demand more stably, it could improve the performance of supply chain from the aspects of fill rate, inventory level and demand-supply balance.
The objectives of this investigation were to obtain an excellent spray by cavitation under the low injection pressure. When cavitation occurs in the nozzle hole, the atomization of the liquid jet enhanced considerably. In this experiments, a acrylic nozzle made the gap and installed the bypass in the nozzle hole was used to enhance the atomization of the liquid jet at the low injection pressure. The liquid flow in the nozzle hole was photographed by a transmitted light using a micro flash. The spray angle was measured macroscope images of PMAS and the Sauter mean diameter was measured PDA system. To measure the pressure of the nozzle hole, pressure transducer was used. The results of this study indicated that enhanced atomization of the liquid jet at the low injection pressure was obtained by making the gap and installing the bypass at the single hole nozzle.

Although many efforts have been made in making nanometer-sized holes, there is still a major challenge in fabricating individual single-digit nanometer holes in a more controllable way for different materials, size distribution and hole shapes. In this paper we describe our efforts to use a top down approach in nanofabrication method to make single-digit nanoholes. There are three major steps towards the fabrication of a single-digit nanohole. 1) Preparing the freestanding thin film by epitaxial deposition and electrochemical etching. 2) Making sub-micro holes ($0.2{\mu}\;to\;0.02{\mu}$) by focused ion beam (FIB), electron beam (EB), atomic force microscope (AFM), and others methods. 3) Reducing the hole size to less than 10 nm by epitaxial deposition, FIB or EB induced deposition and micro coating. Preliminary work has been done on thin films (30 nm in thickness) preparation, sub-micron hole fabrication, and E-beam induced deposition. The results are very promising.

In case manufacturing COF, through hole should be made to be used for a pathway connecting the conductive layers of its both faces. In case Cu-plating inside of through hole with electroless plating way, contact between Cu and PI film gets bad to be fell apart from PI by the impact of applying to the electric devices. Therefore, after sputtering is applying on inner through hole, then a method to perform electroplating process. In this study, after changing sputtering condition to manufacture FCCL, we looked the changeability of the upper PI and inner hole Cu layers. Making use of RF Magnetron sputtering equipment, we coated Cu thin film and Cu-plated on it through electroplating. After cold-mounting the completed FCCL, we examined hole section through an optical microscope. From the result of test, with parameters deposition pressure and deposition time, both the thickness of the hole plated layer and PI plated upper layer increased at regular rate, increasing the thickness of Cu sputter layer. However, from the result of test in increasing RF-power, we could know the increment rate of hole plated layer is considerably greater than that of PI plated upper layer. Therefore, we finally acquired good result; if you want only to increase the plated layer of inner hole, it's much better to increase RF-power.
